Know your content. Know what you are talking about. Know when to open yourself up and join the content and yourself. Know when to separate yourself from the content. This is a great starting point for speaking. If you are presenting difficult information, or information that will not be received well, Use other sources for how to present. Body language is incredibly important for your presentation.

I love how the tips you are giving are pretty much the same tips used to calm animals. I intend no disrespect at all when i say that. Humans and animals respond to a lot of the same triggers. I haven't watched your other content yet, but I'm hoping you go into have you use your body movements as part of your delivery. I like your sharp movements, and how you use them for misdirection. You turned to the side and closed up your space as if you were going to start speaking softly, then rapidly turns back, opened up, and increased your volume. It's like comadies version of a jump scare.

Great Speakers will always be open to an audience and will never be close to them, so they can't look away while the speaker is speaking and will have your attention while you speak anywhere. Another way is to get comfortable with the stage or anywhere you are at to move around, this way the audience with their eyes will follow you where ever you go. When you have a podium do not touch in order to not get nervous. keep your arms out and never crossed, because it will seem like you are closing yourself off from the audience.

I feel like some of these are exaggerated. In my class, I noticed that the ones that are "confident" have their hands hanging low. Does that mean they are are brave because their arms are not folded? Or are they too scared stiff? What I'm trying to get at is, why can't we just talk and present how we want to present? I fold my arms mostly because it relaxes me. Nervous? Sure. However, I could say the same when I put my hands behind my back when I'm nervous. And this happens sometimes.

Good tips. I would add one more which is equally important: Don't move too much while presenting. I have seen many people making that mistake. It is extremely distracting for the audience.
@Zetsuke4
@Zetsuke4 4 года назад
Moving a lot is fine but disturbing if the movement is annoying especially when the moving is a anxious nervous tick. Lots of strong speakers have movements it's just powerful and expressive. Movements are only bad if they communicate what they dont intend that doesnt support what they are saying, such as showing their anxiety
