Recording yourself on video everyday is phenomenal advice. I tried it everyday for a week now and I can see a huge improvement not only in my speaking abilities but in my confidence when talking to people. I think this is the main reason why RU-vidrs become so sociable and confident...its because they record themselves almost everyday and learn from their mistakes. Thanks for the video Conor.

@Gixgine_the_Fool
@Gixgine_the_Fool 5 месяцев назад
@@nithin6654 just like what in the video said, try random things, only then you will achieve excellence. People who do something more, even though they are just trying something stupid, will be better in the end than people who only do research--- reading books, looking at other's works---and only practice a little bit.

I think the "pottery" example was so on point. Making the goal about weight vs quality, enabled the first group to work without the pressure of "perfection". That's such a great trick we can all benefit from.

I've just realized, that i was subconsciously getting better at speaking, while learning, studying English. Yeah, in addition, I'm so passionately curious, and inquisitive to listen to people, to identify who they are, and etc( end of thinking capacity 😂). Passion is contagious. You just have to be doing things you compell!

What he said applies to almost everything in life. You don't get muscular with 1 month of training, but if you just keep going and grinding, you'll eventually attain a noticeable change in your body. If you want to get good at a game such as chess, as you play more and more against different players, ultimately you are going to master it. Wise words from this guy. Today's lesson was that no matter how little or big, always put it into the work and take action with what you have learned instead of just watching and reading the same or similar stuff about the subject.

Conor Neill I was an Anthony Robbins student for years ! I’m in the ministry and I work with addictions and adults with disabilities . I’m going into law enforcement next year . My background is neurolinguistic programming, hypnosis, psycholinguistics , and linguistics. You mentioned in one of my favorite videos you created on speaking about 10, 000 hours to really begin to master an area of any skill set. I truly appreciate your videos ! People have no idea how true that statement about mastery and 10,000 hours is dead on the money ! I’m over 40 years of age ! I’ve been studying these fields since I was 18. I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say - I rarely meet people that really really get into this field you and I love with 100% passion !!! The power of words and our ability to use them is both innate and ironically so new from a perspective of total understanding ! Language acquisition should be the first and last thing we study from out infancy to the highest levels of academic and personal competence ! I salute you for your passion ! Keep doing your thing , we need more teachers of knowledge like you !!! God bless

I agree! Recording your speaking and watching yourself is the best way to improve your presenting skills. I think it's because when you give yourself feedback, you've got to listen. That's why I have students bring to class their charged smartphones, so I can record them on their phones when they give their presentations. I know that they will go home, look through their apps and photos, and ask themselves, "Am I going to delete this, ignore it, or am I going to watch myself." Those who decide to watch it are headed on their way to becoming great speakers. What do you think?

Hey. I'm Joseph Renelle A. Mendoza from 12 - ABM JOBS of Eusebio HIghschool and I'd like to thank you for teaching me these lessons. I've learned from this that the best way to have improvised capabilities and in-depth quick-time analyzed speech is to just simply practice. By consistently submitting myself under the pressure of speech I am able to better myself of it, and become more fluent in the way that I present myself using my words. I've learned that with just experience, even through failure, I can better myself.

The original book on deliberate practice is called Peak by Anders Ericsson. In this book he noticed that everyone he studied that had achieved a significant level of succes in their field had approximately put in 8 to 10 thousand hours of practice. But those who really excelled, let’s say the top 3 were those who practiced deliberately. Meaning they got feed back on a regular basis from a coach pertaining their efforts in order to correct the mistakes made. Practicing 10 thousand hours whilst doing the wrong thing will not help you achieve your goal.

I have been listening, reading, for more than nearly 3 years ( all famous motivational speakers Jim Rohn, Les Brown, Brian Tracey, Jack Canfiled, Bob Proctor, Tony Robbins, Ian Harvey, Zig Ziglar, Nepolean Hill etc. and their books ) and hardly attempted to follow this simple rule, you just mentioned in this video. Now I know what I need to do, going to apply this rule daily. I know I can do it. Prior listening to this video, I was randomly searching the motivational videos and was very indecisive. But your video gave me the direction. Big thanks to you, I am writing you name in my diary..as your video is the turning point of my life and would remember today's date 20th May 2016 23:50PM.
