I spent a decade in the Manali region in the 80s guiding ski touring. The road has improved dramatically. When I often asked the truck drivers why they were passing on blind corners they just struggled their shoulders and said “it’s up to god” I’m heading back to ride it again for my 70th birthday. Meanwhile riding in Vietnam off road. Safe riding!
Here it is!!! This is the advantage of motorcycles!! While these cars and trucks are stuck in traffic, motorcycles are MOVING!!! Let it be 10 kilometers per hour, but they are moving! In an hour, motorcycles will travel these 10 kilometers of bad road, and cars will travel these 10 kilometers in half a day!! So, a motorcycle is not where 330 kilometers per hour in 3 and a half seconds, but where you can ride along the side of the road at a speed of 33 kilometers per hour and an hour later drink hot tea at home, and not stand in a traffic jam!!
This girl has the right attitude and that Indian drive to push on... 😂😂😂 Keep it up! Also, is the Himalayan getting enough oxygen to burn the fuel in that altitude? Some bikes with in less air intake struggle to stay ON! Enjoy the Snow(Hima) Temples (Alaya) 💪🙏
military is here to serve, thanks for listening to them ,we treat our guests like gods visited our home, we literally have the same saying in Sanskrit " Atithi Devo Bhav", ridesafe and have fun, ask ur indians fans for any planning tips etc, specially in emergencies(hopefully none is required) :)
Just Don't conquer us nice peeps again, and maybe return the jewels etc :D kidding, we know u r not gonna do that, so might as well enjoy the remains \m/
Another to class episode Vanessa. Great drone footage and as usual some great editing as well. An old buddy of mine did the Everest base camp a while back and quite a few of those who started were very ill due to altitude sickness so as you mention it really is worth taking precautions and researching what the early symptoms are and how to treat them before continuing. As for the state of those roads, they are nearly as bad as some in the UK. Many thanks for sharing and I look forward to the next one.
Thanks dude, mega appreciate it! Wow well done to them on the trek, but yes altitude sickness is very serious and super important to take all precautions and follow all advice. Although majority of the roads were impeccable!
Love from India ❤ You should also have to go Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and North East Side of India If you want real adventure with tough challenges in hilly region ❤
Believe me, without the presence of security forces, no one would have been able to survive in that area. The extreme cold weather conditions and roadblocks created by impatient drivers always lead to jams. The traffic jams there be severe due to the reckless behavior of some drivers. 🇮🇳🌷
this highway is non stop adventure and adrenaline flow all thru . one of the toughest yet most thrilling rides one can undertake . however only for some of the toughest bikers like the ones in this video 😄 .
Great Vid & wonderful drone shots. Having rid motorcycles all my life, even I felt queasy seeing you go around the corners in that high altitude. May be, it is the just the camera angle. This is on my bucket list now for sure.
Hehe that's fair. There were some mega drop offs! Definitely one of the reasons I love the Insta360 for filming as you can capture so many angle. Thanks for watching. And you'll love the Himalayas when you go!
Did the same route the opposite way, from Delhi to Srinagar from there to leh and then manali and back to delhi via umlinga la and pangong and puga valley.
Govt of india has built 95,000 km of national highways in last 10 years overall 146,145 kilometers of National highways in India. There is a huge 15 kilometres tunnel is under construction to avoid traffic route at 12,000 feet High altitudes in this route One average per day 30 kilometres of National highways are paved in India . I agree US has excellent outdated national highways
Even Indian highways are decent, but this is not a highway, it is a mountainous terrain, so you can’t expect wide and excellent roads, also india is a densely populated country so traffic is also more. Right now india is building roads faster than any country
😅 you can say it, I take that as a very high compliment, so thank you 😎 Glad we made it through also, but dont worry plenty more... hair raising moments to come in this series! Thanks for watching
You just drove through snowvy Rohtang pass where a song of movie Jab we met was picturised. This song lyrics were Ye ishq haye, baithe bithaye jannat dilhaye, o Rama 😊
The truck jam… truckers being truckers! The same thing happens in some mountainous areas in the US, particularly in the Lake Tahoe area (Interstate 80) when spring snowstorms hit. They don’t care one iota about anyone else.
The checkpoints are to keep a note of the rider. If something happens then they’d know where was the last point you checked-in. So searching becomes easier
Mayhem. Stressful hours. But you managed, well done. Who wants to ride there regularly, like in a lorry? An episode to make yourself grateful. Happy days, Günter/Nürnberg
Ye you would want a good reliable bike a way up there ,bike maintenance is vital out there and spares you need ,old jimmy Australia done a few bush trips when I was younger
Mayhem is part of the experiance. Just imagine such scale of visitors, local population, young n volatile mountain ranges, contested boarders & finally the challenging climate. Such a geography with these charectorstics ever managed any better elsewhere????
Question, how you navigate via device on steering will if you wear earplugs and not headphones? Do you only casually look on navigation device and not listening voice of navigator?
It may only be a coincidence but your beanie looks very much like my Prana beanie which I have had for close to 30 years now. Very few pieces of kit ever last that long; I do hope your's lasts for as long as you want to use it. Cheers.
Nope none of that thankfully, and we definitelyenjoyed a vast variety of different foods, most of which were exceptional, even thinking about it now makes my mouth water 🤤
I had many queries. Queries that the beginers should know about how to handle health, what did you studied about health, how you manage food, energy many. I got your channel randomly yesterday. I gone your instgram there you posted you been back to country. Is this real account?
If it werent for the stopped trucks in turns, bad drivers, goat herds, landslides every mile, road construction, detours and bad weather it would be a great route!
I have done alot of trials riding over the time, I own 2 of them and go out often, there are videos on my channel if you are interested in looking 🙂 thanks for watching!!!
During editing, could you cut off the music for those parts of the video where you are talking ? I can barely hear you say anything (especially when you have the helmet on) with that music on 😅😅
Take care of your pregnancy Dear ❤. Avoid anything that cause trouble or miscarriage. If you find any physician there get checked. Power to you 💪 girl and the little one growing inside you 😍❤️🫶
Kindly stay safe. Stay your nights at hotels. Don't go into forests for campings and stuff like that. There are wolves in this country but some of them are hynas in wolves skin. If you know what I mean.
Thank you for your feedback, what music would you prefer? It is hard to find the right balance as everyone has different tastes and styles, so any feedback is greatly appreciated
The Ladakh region of Himalayas is a high altitude desert while most of the other parts are very green. It's 2500 km range with a huge variety of vegetation. Even the tree & snowline line varies by 5000 ft between various regions.
@@dodiraj1 Oh, so that's how it is. Why then did this Vanessa go to where it is cold, and not to where it is beautiful, in the same Himalayas? Or is the most beautiful thing in this Ladakh where Vanessa was?
@@warvaralynx7955 Bikers do the ladakh circuit for adventure. Ladakh is in the rain shadow region so it's desert like. The high passes are only open from June to October giving a small window for road travel.
@@nileshjoshi4232 Yes, she did say that. Her trip was in early June. But that's just outrageous!!! To go in search of snow in the middle of summer!!! Where to go in the summer? That's right, to the tropics. There are many tropics in India. Sea, beach, sun. No mountains.
