My father used to own a video game shop and he died in February this gets me emotional but in a good way as he loved Nintendo and had a passion for games the Zelda music hits the heart heavy. Thank you for making this for all of us.

Hearing dire docks and just seeing the n64 makes me want to cry. Takes me back 27 years when I was 10 playing this with my brother. We literally played all the best games on n64 for years, everyday. So many adventures. Those times felt like they'd last for ever. So bittersweet hearing this again. Makes me feel like a kid again.

If you have the means to do so, get yourself a functioning N64 and an EverDrive-64. I loaded my EverDrive up with basically every N64 game and my 3 y/o loves watching me play these games. I also went the extra mile and got a CRT for a truly authentic experience lol

I know what you mean. I have such a fond memory of Christmas 1996. I was 11, just got N64 and Mario 64. I vividly remember sitting on the floor next to my dog and eating out of those large popcorn containers playing this amazing game. My dad was still alive, I was so happy and content. Such simpler times. I have strong feelings of nostalgia and sadness when I hear a lot of these songs. Wish I could go back in time to experience that safety and security and have my whole family together again.

I remember, very clearly, the first time I saw a videogame in 3D. It was Super Mario 64, and I had little idea what I was really doing. But I could make that plumber move, son; and when I got to the first aquatic level and heard the beautiful melody that opens this compilation, all I could do was sit there and listen. If I shut my eyes, I can almost believe I'm back in that old living room.

SAME here brother, same here. It surprised me the first time it made me tear up. But it's amazing how many memories in your life get locked into a single piece of music. When I hear that intro, I think about how old I was... the grade in school I was in... my friends... my extracurricular activities... it just pulls that entire era of my life fully back into focus as if I'm there again, and I LOVE that. Without those games, or this great music... those times would likely be nothing more than a nebulous haze that I would struggle to remember even ten percent of. With music like this, I vividly remember it all.

So true... nostalgia is like a drug. With the right amount, it makes me happy... cheerful... more pleasant to be around... and just happier over all. But too much of it and I become sad and downtrodden, it's definitely a balancing act. Really appreciate you including some tracks from the (often overlooked!) Maro Golf soundtrack. I used to play it all the time with my grandfather and this is the first time I've heard anything from the OST since he passed away. It hurts, but it brings back some happy memories too. Thank you.

Zelda music just hits something different, I've got a lump in my throat and tears rolling down my cheek thinking of a time long gone. I was told by people growing up that video games don't mean anything and you shouldn't waste your time on them, go out, make friends.. but I actually miss those times, & sure, some of the people but honestly I was happiest in the world of Hyrule back then.

I've made friends as an adult over video games. I have a full-time job and function as an adult... but video games are a peaceful retreat from the world, if only for an hour or 2. If you haven't played breath of the wild I highly recommend it if you can. In my opinion, tears of the Kingdom was overhyped (same gameplay as breath of the Wild, good story though). I grew up with Pokemon. Fell out of it because it was "kid stuff" then got back into it years later. I now play with my nephews. Scarlet and violet are the best games since red/blue to me. It even has a good story!
