Great summary! Love that you did a full review of each and the final comparison. Great job pointing out each's weak points. I've picked up the GEPRC and Diatone and hope to put both through their paces. First time flying digital (just got a DJI goggles bundle) so am looking forward to some longer range flying that I'm used to!

I just got my Roma L4 today and after a little tinkering and filing the fins I got a full size DJI Air Unit installed in the back . It actually fits very solidly without the need for any 3d printed parts or tape, and also still allows for the factory gps/crossfire mount. Now that I've got onboard 1080p recording onboard no need for a heavier action camera for my needs. Just have to figure out the lightest weight electronics setup with out compromising efficiency and quality.

I finally saw the iflight Chimera with the 3800 kv motors and dead cat frame at the hobby shop today but have yet to see anyone do a review on it yet. That thing looks and performs better from what I hear. I'm thinking about getting that one like Bardwell suggests.

The best lr 4 inch is the Flywoo explorer frame with camera protector (use the same style camera protector that's on the geprc), arm end protectors and crossfire immortal antenna tpu removed. Iflight dual gyro 20×20 stack and motors (kv is your choice), crossfire (ziptie antenna to last standoff), dji Vista and 4s geprc or flywoo li ion. Add any gps. Done.

My flywoo explorer didn't come with the insta360 go mount! I thought it was supposed to come with one! Finally got mine after months of waiting. Hopefully will get a chance to fly it this weekend!

Nice comparison, however the flywoo still had its 360 mount on when you weighted the individual drones. I guess the flywoo would be the lightest of them all :D

Hey Justin, been watching tons of your reviews with drones. Awesome content and great summary. Im in the market for a bind and fly drone, where I mostly use it for some chase scene and I love mountain dives. Im currently using the DJI FPV where I think I have reached its limit, especially with its range, with a bi blades I can only get up to 15 mins of flight time. I don’t do freestyle at all, so I’m wondering if I should get the 5”, 6” or 7”? I know the 7” would deliver the best flight time, but I’m also worry if I won’t be able to do chase scene with it. Appreciate if you can advise me here. Thanks mate!

Great reviews. I love how detailed you get on the specs. I do have a question and maybe I'd be better off building something. Out of all the options it looks like with the 2700kv or 3000kv motors are technically 6s motors? is that correct? If you had a beefy enough stack like a 20x20 35a stack like the Chimera couldn't you simply swap out to a 5s or 6s battery and then you would have a very competent Freestyle option and then simply swap out to a 4s LiOn and go long range? What am I missing. I don't hear anyone talk about this. To me it's a very important option to be able to do both? Can you help me figure out what I'm missing? Only thing I dont like on the Chimera is the props in view I'd defiately gonna look at the Deadcat style frame.

I’m really interested in this new micro lr category, I’ve just been have trouble deciding which one to buy. I was hoping to hear your opinions of the analog versions since I will be going that route. I was leaning towards the Geprc crocodile baby with its 600mw vtx and Caddx Ratel camera before watching and by the looks of it I’m on the right track. Thanks for the micro lr roundup.

The v2 of the analog Flywoo has a Caddx Ratal Baby and 850mW, and can hit sub250 (BARELY!) carrying a normal 850mAh 4S. The HD is just a bit too heavy to do that. You'll need to do some trickery if you want to record HD while flying this thing in that config. You can put a Runcam Split Nano in there, but you'd be giving up the Caddx Ratal to do it. You can also use an ultralight camera and sacrifice some flight time on a 650mAh. They say they upgraded the GPS, and reviews on Flywoo's website claim to confirm this. Faster and more secure locks with higher satellite counts.

Thumbs up. I use the geprc 2750 for my helicopter's tail. But I use the flywoo lr4 v2's f745 flight controller for my helicopter. It is a helicopter, so it flies 35 minutes at 250 grams takeoff with hd video recording. But it is very picky about wind.

It's worth mentioning that the analog versions of these quads will be slightly lighter. Flywoo in particular advertises that the analog version will just barely slide in under 250g all up carrying an 850mAh. The Diatone and Baby Croc in analog flavors can also do this. The Chimera ... I don't know what its dry weight is on analog, but being such a more substantial aircraft, I doubt it can hit 250g without some serious trouble, even on analog.

However what charger should I invest in to charge the LionPack Battery for Baby Croc and will that charger also charge the regular Lipo? The only 2 things I don’t like on the Diatone is the nebula camera (but that maybe a supply issue) and no external buzzer. With the Baby Croc I not biggest fan of F411 FCs either. Will be interesting to see what the Eachine version is like.

Which of the 4 quads has the longest range out of the box? I don't mean longest flight time but range performance. I have yet to see a review showing the potential of any of these quads and I feel that this would make for a very interesting video. Crossfire equipped its the video link you would expect to fail first, hence which has the best components out of the box providing the best range?

Nothing with your phone. Too laggy vid for for these type of drones. They are high speed. You need real-time video.

u can use a lcd display with a radio receiver built in. don't know if it works long range, but it does okay when i fly my drone around the house and the yard. goggles still the best option

flywoo QC is doign great? i ordered my Explorer LR August 16th and still have yet to fly it more than 90 seconds because of the shitty FC/VTX. Still waiting on replacement parts - biggest waste of money i've ever spent in FPV

I’m sure they did. Diatone is known for sending me quads without a tune. I have tuned many of their prototypes and shared with people over the years.
