May this gentleman's memory be blessed forever. I really like this video. I recently ordered a tin of 200 hornet .22 pellets for my diana model 34 classic .22 air gun. I paid 25 bucks from pyramyd air because I know some ppl who had good luck with it out of similar guns to mine and plus honest air guns reviews videos by Rick eustler recommends it for my gun for the accuracy aswell as the penetration because with my gun they are going about 600 to 650 feet per second with about 13 to 15 foot pounds of energy so a 16 grain pellet like this is lighter which is better suited for a less powerful gun like mine as opposed to a 17 or an 18 grain or a 20 or 21 grain pellet and the gun this gentleman tested with is a more powerful gun than mine so it works better with heavier pellets than mine does. With my gun it wouldn't work well with any thing heavier than the 16 grain hornets and it gets the best accuracy and expansion with them even though they don't penetrate as deep as the jsb domed 15.89 grain pellets I used to use but they do alot more damage than the jsb domed 15.89 grain pellets
I use fishing line to cut clay, it makes a clean cut that preserves the pellet or bullet cavity. I just bought some h&n hornets for barn rats. I wish I had known about the same company making the Terminators.
When it comes to "pest control", ideally, the "pointed" pellet should be working like this: upon striking, the payload is divided in, basically, two parts - the tip, that continues traveling in the previous direction, piercing through the hard structures (bones etc.), and the "lead skirt" that falls behind and expands, making shallower but larger wound(s). Now, what is EXTREMELY important in terms of efficiency of such pellet is how easy (quick) the tip is "getting rid" of the skirt - if it stays with the skirt for too long (or even doesn't get separated), the efficiency of the pellet is dubious. The trouble with these calculations of yours is that they do not (and cannot) take this element into the account. Example: I had been shooting lots of H&N Hornet from a Diana N-TEC lately (it was mostly a "pest control"). Though I find the pellet very, very accurate, it keeps failing in regards with "separation" - the tip stays with the skirt as if welded (however much the skirt has been distorted due to severity of the impact). Metalmag, on the other hand is a different story - not ONE of the pellets (50, maybe 60 during last month) "failed" to get separated (though, vaguely recalling, I'd say that Hornet is slightly more accurate, or is more compliant to my gun). I did some tests with different materials (plastic two-litter bottles filled with water, plywood...) and the results (differences in behavior) replicated - 20 yards distance, Hornet goes through the bottle, makes huge holes on both sides and ends up buried into the plywood (the tip almost always stays with the skirt); Metalmag also pierces both sides of the bottle (the second hole being slightly larger than the one made by Hornet), but the part of the skirt stays in the bottle, the rest of the skirt gets splashed on the surface of the plywood and the tip alone goes through that plywood (about 10 millimeters thick).
At last someone has showcased the capability of the terminator pellet.Ive been using them faithfully for years.Hits hard with pinpoint accuracy. How did every other airgun channel miss this pellet?
it's funny how some pellets have a direct expansion and others later, like the crosman gold tipped and hn terminator that expanded more inside the clay!
For body shots i love the crow magnums. I get very respectable groups as well. I've ONLY used them in a 125 but yeah, fantastic response. Those and the terminators are what i use. Obviously they're not as good for headshots but that's why i use terminators too lol. At 12yds they for example tear a 12oz can completely open, 50/50 when filled with water to the top.
Great review!! Kenny got to get me some of them H&N terminater's for my 2017 Umarex Octane.22 I am currently using the Gamo Red Fires 15.4 grains pretty accurate pellet
Thank you Kenny great review i got 200 crosman gold tips been sitting on all winter. Still a good pellet. We will see eh.🇨🇦🐿. Kenny i still want your autograph 💪💪keep it coming Kenny.
happy easter. tomorrow is the happiest day in a catholics life which I am it is the day of rising od our lord jesus Christ..he is risen. let him show mercy on us in this trying time..be safe my friend
Good Video. Nice to see you change it up with something different and I like how you compared the same/different kind of pellets. Good Job and a BIG LIKE! I extremely enjoyed this video... Very good test. Actually Il admit this is one of the best pellet comparison videos Ive seen.
Hi Kenny maybe you could do a video on 4 different types of domed .177 pellets like gamo domed crosmen dome h&n domed or what ever brand you think would be a good domed pellet to test
@@spinster4000 Thank you kindly for letting me know. The big C has taken so many of my friends that I am still in a sense of AWH that no real cure has been found for the monetary outlay for the disease. You will always be in my prayers. We will meet again in HEAVEN. Rest in peace my brother. Thank you Mr. Producer with the sad news. vf
Hey I know you have alot of research in this information, and I want to say thanks. Awesome accuracy, performance and price comparison of the HN Terminator to the competition. I think I would like to try some of these in my little Daisy 822. I've been wanting to order some more pellets at Pyramyd Air anyway.
Kenneth if you ever tried the crosman f4 from walmart at 79 bucks i got one yesterday and put the original crap cp scope on it and omg im shooting beter accuracy than i have ever with any other air rifle. Im cutting small size twigs in half at 20 yards and cutting cigarette butts in half. Just thought i would share that with you. With crosmanpointed pellets. .177
Why wouldn't the crosman pellet be considered the most effective, since it produced the largest wound channel while imparting all of its energy to the target.?
These are .22" pellets, not .177. IMO, the head size does not matter, at least in my magnum .22 Gamo gun. As long as I have some rifling engagement on the head, I know it is coming out of the muzzle as straight as possible. My Mag springer (27fpe) is so powerful, it blows some pellet skirts up like a balloon, (like the JSB 15.89gr. pellet I have found in the yard so far), getting plenty of barrel seal. I want to see rifling marks on the head and on the skirt, (at least 1mm long on the skirt. The "blown up skirt" measures 2mm long rifling engagement.).
I can tell you now.. Ive been testing too.. I Have a Game Maxxium Swarm and the HN Predator pellet is too lite... it's to even good for mid range.. I need at least 7.9grs or better! the amount of lead on the predator isn't enough for a good hard hit or expansion... not enough meat on the bones!
The H&N Terminators are not metal tip, and the Crosman gold tipped are so cheap because a good number of the tips are laying at the bottom of the tin when you open them and both the H&N Hornets and the Predator metalmag are $28 a tin. I use the Crosman .22 Red Flight Penetrator they are only $13 for 100 and metal tipped.
It is not the company. It is your government most likely. That would mean you are getting ripped off if you buy them, and H&N is getting ripped off if you don't. Government has no business in our business. Their interference sure has a way of jacking up free market prices. Believe me, if H&N knew they would have to cost that much everywhere, they would not have produced them. You both got ripped off, and somebody you elected is pocketing $15.00 per/tin.
Australia is selling them for 40.00 a tin rip off isn't the word I have some but only use them on bigger game otherwise Terminators or barracuda hunters do the job my gun isn't pellet fussy
Thankx Kenny for your hard work, but HN terminator is Not Metal tip pellets( im just now tested this terminator hn pellet and tip is from Lead very soft...
Dear sir.. I using .177 PCP air rifle velocity is 850fps so *jsb 10.34 grain pellets* 20 or 30 to 40 metar distance *rabbit Hunting* cen be possible? Please reply 🤔 ? !...
That is a good pellet, and you are shooting about 16.6 fpe with it. I know for a fact you can take rabbits and other small game with head shots to 80 meters. After you clean the barrel, and make sure your scope is working fine, just hold the gun lightly, including pushing it away from your cheek and shoulder, (I just barely touch) before you pull the trigger, and you can be doing 1.5" groups with that pellet to about 80 yards, (with practice). Basically don't touch the gun, or as little as possible, (a light trigger pull is real helpful here, since you are barely holding the gun), and you can do great long distance shots. Kenny here, (RIP), was not a very good shot. Let the gun do it's thing freely, and that muzzle will be in the same sport every time the pellet leaves it. Kenny held the guns tightly to find his best groups, and could do 5 in a row OK, (but how about tomorrow, if you don't measure exactly how hard you touched the gun?). You can grab it anyway you want, it just has to be the same forces in the stock every time. Zero force is just easier to repeat, and it does take practice. I like head shots, because if I miss, there is a better chance of not just wounding the animal and not getting it. If you hold it right, with that pellet, you can get 3" groups at 100 yards, but I don't think I would hunt that far. Maybe. :)
a hog with a gamo rifle? What fps and what pellets do you use? Also...I think the hunting community in South Africa would have me flogged and beat with a cane if they heard I wanted shooting a pig with something weaker than even a .22
@@moonstryder1740 2 shots, 2 kills on hogs. Dropped them like an anchor. Not the strongest break barrel .22 today either. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jejT_DOIgO4.html
Indeed. He's got nothing else to do since he conceived your father, who then made you. If he knew how lame his grandson would be, he would've rather played with guns and knives instead of making your father...🌡
