Thanks for watching this video! My 1-year progression update is out, check it out here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7vRWYutarlU.html Appreciate all the kind words, keep skating! :)
Hey man this is Marco! Sheesh you got so many views and likes on this video grats! Next time I should making an appearance in you videos, it will skyrocket the likes XD
Dope I remember I use to sesh when I was younger but looking forward to getting back soon or later again. Wonder hows your improvement now since this was a while back.?
I'm a 39yo that started skating recently. Today was the first day I could almost push without feeling like I was going to fall off. Baby steps. Great video man!
@@TheRazzaManazza I live in New York city where it's really convenient being able to zip around on a skateboard. My aim isn't to do tricks. It's to get confident to ride around and eventually work up to an electric skateboard.
The messed up ankle part is me af. I used to skate whenever I was a kid and was hella good. Quit for almost 12 years and decided to try skating again at 29. It's been a struggle, I've messed up my knee and my ankle. But I've got fs 180s, front shuvs, nollie shuvs, Fakie 180s, kickflips, ollies, and nose slides down. Stay strong, kings! Stay motivated.
@@chzy_hokage2998 how did u mess it up? I did skate for few hours when I got my skateboard and noticed my knee hurt the next day but wasn’t aware it could be from skateboarding.
@@Introspectiverider99 oh um, I was practicing ollieing higher and whenever I'd landed, my back foot slipped off and my knee twisted. What I've learned (with being in my 30s)is to always stretch before and after a session. And with skating, you're using every joint in your legs so rotate your ankles for a while and do a few squats (because you're doing so much bending and jumping)
Best progression video ive seen, people usually jump to other tricks right after and leaving their ollies rocket but your ollies are leveled out pretty good
yooo thanks for all the kind words! never thought this video would be getting close to a hundred K views so that’s pretty crazy. thanks to everyone who watched, hope it inspired you to go skate! anyway i’m working on a 1 year progression video to show you guys how i’m doing with my skating. it’ll likely be out early January 2021 so keep a look out for that. stoked to share my progress. and yes, i’ll stop calling it vert.
Your crazy dedicated bro I assumed you meant you used to skate and you quit then picked it back up but no you started this fast which is great! Keeep grinding skate every fucking day!!!
I was just struggling with fakie shuvs, literally took a break and watched this video, that started landing them pretty consistently. This video gave me some life. Love the dedication from you in this video
this guy's ollies are better than mine and ive been skating almost three years lol, took me a full year to ollie and another year and some to front 180 and shuv
Casperthegh000st i think it will be the Same with me i am Working in my ollies since 2 months and there don’t really Progress and for the Shuv it I never put the second foot 🙄🤯
@@ParanoidPrincess I had the same problem but landed my first shuvit yesterday. Try to think about jumping, like concentrate on that even if u think u r jumping eneough try jumping even more this will help u to commit. lemme now when u land it
i landed my first shove it after 1 week of skating.. you just gotta get that fear away and commit and yeah you will fall a lot but that's what makes it better
Dude ! I just started at 25 too ! Thanks for the video, it shows us we can do it even though people make you believe that it's too late. So thanks again for the motivation 😁
Never too late! I just got back into skating at 34/35 after being out for almost 20yrs. Definitely gets harder as you get older, but I think I actually love it more now than I did as a kid. So much fun! Glad you decided to start. It’s so rewarding so I know you’ll love it as well!
The only reason I don’t wanna go to a skatepark is cause I know people there and have like history with them if u know what I mean and they’re all boys lmao
Same, I want to learn skateboarding and there is a new skate park near my street I badly wanna learn skating there. I'm just anxious to try because the skaters might laugh at me
dude I just picked up skating at age 25 too, love to see other “older” folks (lol) taking it up. Shit is so fun and challenging, this def inspired me to stick with it. Good on ya mane
Much appreciated, man. I got back into it at 26 after a long hiatus, and it’s really been helping to see this vid. Thanks for helping viewers like me want to continue to progress.
I started skating at 21 love to see other people like me starting at a older age keep it up dude! I’m leaving a like and a sub if you ever need some tips and things like that people in my comments are really helpful!
Haha, I wouldn't say you're that old yet man. I got back into it at 35, couldn't do much more than ride around (not fakie/switch), ollie (kind of) and short boardslides on a DIY rails that was pretty much as low as could possibly be, at age 12 or so. Never too old to learn skateboarding I'd say. I'm not yet doing all my tricks consistently moving now, but I did already manage to land a few varial kickflips within only a month or 7 and am about to land my first kickflip any day now, out of which 2 months or so had me skating almost every day (for 1 hour up to say 3 hours). In those two months I've progressed a _lot_ ! I'd say older people can still learn very quickly when they try to skate every single day. And take it slow too, it is better to not get hurt and not have to wait weeks before you can skate again, than to get frustrated about getting hurt over and over. No need to rush anything even when it may feel like progression is taking a lot of time. It's a good work out either way, even when it obviously will take time to get the kickflip and tre flip and stuff like that. Oh and while I think it may not apply necessarily to you yet, it is a good idea to stretch before skateboarding when you get older. That should prevent muscle tearing and such too, even for younger people.
PHeMoX I stretch all the time when I skate I like to get in the routine of it so I get used to it. I want to get out and skate everyday but anytime I get the chance to I do!
This is hella inspiring to watch man! I just started learning skateboard at the age of 24, so to see someone around my age progressing the way you have is amazing. Definitely going to go at it even harder after watching this. Much love!
Seeing stuff like this keeps me going. I’m 29, bought my first board couple weeks ago and was starting to second guess myself. Videos like this are inspiring. Great work bro!
You learned quite a bit especially for only 4 months of skating. One thing that could help you improve is working to keep your shoulders straighter. When you Ollie I notice often times you land a little crooked sometimes. If you focus on keeping your shoulders square with the board you will be able to straighten ollies out and eventually kick flips, heel flips, and more. When you do a 180 you throw your shoulders to direct the skateboard to make it work correctly. The skateboard always follows the shoulders so when you’re not keep them square you’re bound to land a little bit sideways where your shoulders were when you the skateboard took off. Good luck brotha, keep grinding, you’re killin it. 🤙
Fuck yeah dude! I'm 22 and in my first months of skating, always loved the culture and finally decided to buy myself a board. Still working on levelling out my ollies. Good stuff!
Keep it up man! Been skating for about 12 years now and im 26. And its cool to see more people getting into it at an older age. There was alot of us in the school years but now there's maybe only a group of 10 of us still skating in our mid 20s and 30s. Keep on pushing!
Big up SG woooo Can't believe I only started skating when I moved to the UK :( Its always rainy and cold and the ground is nowhere near as flat and smooth I miss you ECP
So proud of you bro. Thank you for showing the process. It’s easy to get overwhelmed by all of the 8 year olds who are smashing el Toro. Your progression is a flex in a league of its own👍
I'm really impression with your 4 month progression. Loved the commentary "Didn't die!" relatable lmfao. Look forward to seeing your next progression video :) I'm 24 and I'd love to learn to skateboard but I'm such a massive wimp lol, scared of falling off just standing on it, let alone riding it XD haha. I feel like fear has stopped me from trying so many things in life..
thanks for posting man, im 26 and trying to pick up skating again after 3 years of not stepping onto a board. appreciate that u posted the duds too, those are important parts of getting better
I used to skate from when i was 12 years until i was 21 years old. im 31 now and startet to skate again. it took me like 6 month to proper heelflip. Its frustrating to learn all that tricks again, but when u have it down it feels so good
I'm a 33 year old Dad of 2 and I've just started learning to skate. This is exactly the motivation I've needed. Thanks for including the falls and challenges. I'm going to start recording my own progress now to keep track of the slow improvements I make. Thanks mate!
I never comment on youtube videos, but this brought me back to my first few months of skating years and years ago. Landing a new trick in skateboarding is one of the best feelings in the world, and I honestly miss it a lot. Thanks for sharing your journey with all of us
This is awesome!! I'm also getting back into skating, wish I had more skate friends though. I find it more motivating, but it's still rewarding skating alone:) keep it up ma dude
It's been 15 years since I broke my elbow and drifted away from skateboarding. Now RU-vid is recommending me these videos and I just wanna grab my old board and start it all over again, haha! Great progression, bro. Keep it up!
You're my inspiration, I been skating for so long and can't even drop it, just stationary ollies it'll save this video so i knlw what i have to work on
We need more videos like this...im 33 and have never really stopped skating, but if you don't use it .you lose it. Stay active and have fun with life. Skating is a great way to do so🤘🏾
Falling hurts a lot more in later life. Can confirm after trying to get back into skating at 23 about 5 years after I stopped. Good work. Keep it up : )
This is actually pretty dope and at least for me it’s inspiring. I’m in my 20’s now and am an avid snowboarder and have been regretting not learning skateboarding when I was younger so I’d have something to do in the seasons that aren’t winter (so most of the year haha). I think now I’ll try learning some basic skateboarding now. Thanks man.
yo ur honestly sick man don’t listen to those kids saying “poser” they don’t kno what their talking abt I love the progression it’s amazing how much you can do in 4 months man🙌🙌🔥🔥
Used to skate when i was 16. Now i'm 26 and when i see young skaters, i get that «golden old times» vibe. Glad to see someone is OK to start at my age. Keep it up!
Looking good man, left a sub! 👍 No Comply 180's looking clean, I've tried them once and ended up doing the splits, will be trying them again this month!
This motivated me to try to learn dude! I'm 24 and always wanted to try. I've never been able to get on to the board without falling and I'm a bit embarrassed to be trying so late, but I bought my first board last night and some pads today and after seeing this video, I think I'll be ok with learning the basics!
I've bought a skateboard recently at age 24 with my friend, I thought maybe I was a bit old, tall and chubby for this but you really boosted my confidence, thank you :)
I myself started skateboarding at the age of 35. It's never too late to start trying something new. I like to hear this kind of inspiring and supporting comments.
It's not too late! I started at 25 and still going 2 years later. I'm also 6'3" (190cm) by the way ;) Skating is also a great way to get in shape without really feeling like you're exercising
I just began skating a little over two weeks ago. I'm attempting to do an Ollie but unfortunately it's not as easy as it looks 😅 I also just turned 21 so this makes me feel better
Dude I literally have the same backstory as yours: learnt how to ride around at 13 but stopped there. Tried again at 20 but never learnt how to ollie etc. I'm turning 25 this year and I decided to really skate again since January. I thought it was a bit too late for me to learn from scratch, but your video is super encouraging and motivating. Thanks for sharing your journey!
Love it !! I know the feeling bro.. I started when I was 8.. Got pretty good to. Quit when I was 14..started back up again at 26. I'm 41 now. 🤘 Do your thang Brother 🤘
Man nice video you got talent and dedication for sure I got scared at 18 going back to skate after a break of 7 years( I'm skating again today) but you're a legend for doing it with 25 years much respect age is only a number
this is cool af just started skating this summer and youre a little better than i am rn its cool to see people who have just begun get better! u killin it
Короче, на русском напишу! Ахуенно видео, очень эмоциональное! Меня вдохновило! Very emotional and inspiring, i glad to see your vid! 🔥 Enjoy your life!
Great progress man. Imagine you’d be killing it a year later. Watching this video currently laid up post ACL surgery. I’ll be roughly 25 by the time the knee’s solid again, so this gives me a lot of hope to get back on the board. Inspirational stuff, thanks for posting.
