She is so beautiful. I remember seeing her in another video about kinky twists as extensions a few years back. Also the locs are beautiful on you. Well done.
I wish had seen a video like yours before I started my loc journey. I started with a mixture of 2 strand twists, 3 strand braids and finger coils. My hair took almost 1 year to actually look like locs. And like you I had 2 at the back that refused to loc. I made a few mistakes along the way, and although many persons told me how great my hair looked, I was not satisfied with some aspects and decided to combine the smaller locs and also add extensions. This was not such a great idea after all, so I am seriously thinking of starting all over. This time, I have some great videos as reference. Thanks for the tips
Your locs are gorgeous!!❤️ I can only dream that my hair was as thick as yours. Just started my locs today. I am really nervous but excited too. Thanks for the video!!
Subbing! I was wearing my hair in twist for a couple of weeks and I loved not having to maintain as often as you do with lose hair. The problem is a had a lot of unraveling. I love your hair. It’s like GOALS! I may try again and braid a little first and then twist. I like the way the end look when twisted.
❤❤❤ I just love love love your videos, out of all of the loc journey videos. After watching about 4 or 5 of them, you have answered so many questions. Thank you so much
Your hair is looking healthy fabulous and full! How many locs do you have? I’m 2 months into my journey and have about 180-ish I’m still learning how to maintain them but I love them already 🥰
Dione Howell thank you! I have roughly 265 locs. And congrats on 2 months! Maintenance can be tricky but once you commit to a method everything gets easier
Your locs are the perfect size! I’m wanting to start my loc journey soon and wanted to know what you mean by rope twists. After watching your videos I went to look up the difference between rope twists and two strand twists and the basic different is twisting each strand of hair as you are twisting them around each other? Is that what you did? If that’s the case how were you able to do your ends? (So sorry for the long comment!)
Hi thank you for sharing, I have been watching your videos and your hair has really done well.I do have a question or 2. As you interlock will your entire head be interlock all the way down to the ends, from root to tip like sister locs, or will it turn into regular locs? I hope you understand what I'm trying to say, haha. it's confusing I know, but please answer the best you can. Thanks.
raineynight the 4 point section actually is skinnier, but I wouldn’t say by too much. I definitely thought the two point was easier so Ill be sticking with that from now on
I started my locs with rope twist too! Mine are much smaller though. I also have different sizes. Is that ok? Like I have really skinny ones and some that is a little thicker
Xenia Knight its okay as long as the skinny ones dont feel fragile like they could break, and as long as you are okay with having diff sized locs. I would suggest having thicker ones along your edges since they take the most tension/manipulation
I am really not sure what I would call it! I sectioned my hair into 4 parts and then went row by row until i was done. I am not a professional at all lol
Do you recommend now to wash as often as you mentioned here? Every 2 weeks? I’m still in the baby stage 2 months to be exact. And I broke up with my loctician. She recommended washing and retighten every 4-6 weeks. But I workout daily and I swear I need to wash my hair more often. And they feel dry with just the spray that I do. Do you recommend steaming or hot oiling your hair still? Did it hinder your locking process? Sorry for all the questions. Thank for this video 🤗
I say wash as often as you need (just try not to dry out your hair)! steaming is wonderful and I definitely still recommend it. It did not slow down the locking process.
They are just tight two strand twists. you twist two pieces of hair together, and as you do that, you slightly twist each individual strand before twisting it around the other strand of hair. There are videos on youtube showing how to do it, if that made no sense lol
Vanessa M yeah you definitely have to be careful with parts that are too small if you DIY. I wanted to go smaller but they felt fragile when i tried to make them smaller.
