Joe/ other owners. ... A cheap mod i have done is to add Mood lights to my E89 Z4 23i sport, they come with a remote control, and many lighting colours and set ups can be achieved, and if you want a disco, you got one cos they can be sound activated by your music system. All in including postage cost me around £18.00. Canbe purchased Amazon or other similar places. Really adds a different feel to the car espeicially in dark driving.
Here's 4 mods you should do to your channel: 1. Sometimes it would be nice to get to the point right away 2. Buy a steady tripod 3. Buy a professional mic 4. Never film next to a motorway. The background noise is killing the interest and it looks rather boring. Otherwise really good Z4 content. Your presentation and the way you talk makes you look like a professional. Keep it up!
Another great video with great photography in some parts! Congratulations for you time dedication to this channel!!! I have a 2003 Z4 3.0 almost identical to yours, except for the transmission and mine is left hand drive! First mod I did was the Sound Generator thanks to your channel! I dreamt about the Z4 for the last 16 years since it was launched and I still consider it a desperately beautiful Roadster! And as I live in Brazil, in a sea cost city, a Roadster was a dream that had to be lived LOL! Hope you keep the channel with this exact car cause it’s really nice! Congratulations once more and greetings from Brazil!! Excellent videos!!!
Joel... I bought my first Z4 at the beginning of the summer cheap for a good fun project and maybe to make some cash flipping it at the end of summer but as fall nears I don’t know if I’ll be able to sell it 😂 I love the thing I’ve been driving it every day It’s cool to me to have a dream car of mine at age 18 but selling it is gonna be hard Might have to sell the e46 along with it and pick up another one as a daily that is spec’d more to my liking Found one exactly how I want it but idk if I’ll be able to afford it. It’s priced higher than I’ll be able to get out of the one I have now Love all your videos but really the Z4 ones The Z4 has always been a dream car but watching your videos on yours made me like it more and more. And work harder to get one haha. Thanks
Cup holders are over rated, the drivers side one in my car has an annoying rattle and it really irritates me as I hate any kind of rattle in a car. Apart from that though I love my Z4 especially with the roof down. Another good vid, thanks Joel! 👍
I've calculated that I've driven 1.2 million miles, 24,000 miles abroad, and all with manual gearboxes, tried autos but I like to actually drive my car
@itsjoel, what's the Sony radio you're using at the center, and is it fitted for an E85? (Also are those leather covers on the side doors? They seem pretty practical).
Not sure I can do the sound pipe since I have the 2.5i. These are great suggestions though. By the way, I was in Iceland in June and really wish I had my Zed 4. It would have been amazing driving with top down there.
Hi Joel, could you please elaborate on the antenna change? I wanted to do just the same thing but somehow the old antenna screw/thread seems to be stuck. Any idea on how to remove without breaking it?
I must admit, I've never used my cup holders as I have a standing rule of no smoking, drinking or eating in my cars. 13 years old and still smells like a car inside, no cheap deodorizers hanging from the rearview.
The reason the cup holder is "flimsy" is because you're using it wrong, it's actually adjustable, when you place the bottle/cup in the holder the little arm can be adjusted to squeeze smaller diameter bottles.
@@itsjoel I really enjoy your videos, I got my 2007 Black on Black Z4m Coupe about 6 months ago, It's such a great car to drive, I wish I could daily drive it.
Sad to say this "sound generation pipe" is not on E89 30i, would be so awesome since I want mine to sound louder. I am thinking of buying some type of valve control system, any suggestions??
Hi Joel, great vid & some good advice there. Couple of mods I've done recently that were really easy was heated seats & control switch, cost around £300 all in & will be a nice to have come winter. All the wiring was there for it and was a simple plug & play. I also added cruise control for £100 & again was a plug & play, I can confirm that all the wiring required for these was present on my 2004 E85, I'm not to sure about post 2005 cars. Keep the videos coming really enjoy them.
Just got myself an 08 manual Z4 3.0 I which is my first manual car. I'm 19 flipped over 14 car since I got my Driving license. But I never had enjoyed any cars much as z4 I got it for cheap cause front of car paint is peeling due to bad paint job even though it looks not exactly preaty it's a damn fun car to drive. And my cars weren't all garbage before z4 first once of course were I had 2012 Audi A8 definitely faster then z4 but sadly not as fun being automatic and I had no clue what I was missing. And if anyone knows any good mods not cheap not to expensive like What exhaust is great for z4, Intake or anything that boosts preformace please comment
Hi, hoping someone here can help me out. I have baby 2.0l 58 reg z4 and my roof is dead... pressing the button I get the mechanism working to release the catches but the actual roof motor doesn't function. Anyone got a mechanic in the Essex area that can sort it would be much appreciated!
You will very soon get sick of the racket generated by the sound generator. Ask me how I know. If the want great sound from the motor add an induction kit. Check mine at tony5006 induction
the roof motor is located in the stupidest place in the world....right where there is a possibility of it being flooded with water....which goes to prove that German engineers are not always the brightest bunch....the drain holes are easy to clear out, just put your hand under and you can feel the plug at the bottom and i used a piece of long wire to push through and a hose pipe to blast it all out of muck....i also removed the rubber plug and threw them away as they were actually causing the blockage on mine and serve no viable purpose...
Why does nobody realize the cupholders diameter is adjustable on a per cup basis. Not to mention they can keep your coffee hot in the winter and water cold in the summer. I only wish they didn't creak so much.
Hi Joel. First of all, I do enjoy your videos buy helping people out and by making people to fall in love to buy a Z4 (I am one of them 😅). Also I watched all your videos and can't wait for the next one 🙂
cup holders are adaptable, lol. just put there bottle and tie up the moving part to hold the bottle tied. then u put in and put out cup holderwithout bottle again to restore it fully open again
Hey Joel you can press in the left arm of the cupholder to fit it‘s size to your bottles and stuff 👍🏼 I‘ve got the cupholders and think they are much better then most of the others out there 😄
Strong enough for coffee coke an 0.5l bottles 😄 Tried it with 1l and it fell down while turning a little quicker 😅 So I guess you‘re right on that 👍🏼 Oh and by the way, a great other mod would be replacing the basic steering wheel with the M one. It‘s a little expencive with 430€(in Germany as new part), but the reward is worth every single cent. It‘s much thicker and grippier ✌🏼
Hello I just bought z4 pls some one help me to fix a little issue with roof.. I wanna know the positioning of back tray in Boot cause of that my roof stop working..
My Z4 is arriving in a few days. I came across your videos and really enjoyed them. I am looking for an Obd11 and checked the one you discussed. I would have gone for it if it were not requiring a money payment. It didn't make sense to be paying payment for something you may use once or twice a year. I used to have a VW and used an OBD11. They sold points that you could apply to making mods, with diagnosis and error clearing free, which was sensible.
Finally removed the CDV Clutch Delay Valve last week, makes a huge difference when accelerating from rest up the gears. Very easy and free mod. Other mods: MP3 player that mimics the factory CD changer so uses steering wheel controls, poly bushes, cruise control (easy), non-runflat tyres, sound deadening in doors and boot, wired in missing door speakers (there's nothing under the door speaker grill in most Z4s!).
Thank you for sharing these suggestions, I recently purchased a 2008 Z4 and my Antennae/Ariel got bent when I covered my car for a couple of weeks for my short winter storage. My roof motor also broke, so I may relocate it to my Trunk/Boot when the new motor arrives and gets replaced. I have enjoyed watching your videos and as a new subscriber, I look forward to watching more of them in the future.
Bought a used 2003 Z4 3.0i last summer for $15,000 USD. Best Mod for Z4? An aftermarket plexiglass windscreen. It is hooked up to the headlight and brake light that illuminates the perimeter and an etched "Z4". I chose blue and I'm very happy with the product. I'm astounded by the head turns the car and windscreen evokes from passersby. And Joel, it's Zee 4, not Zed 4! Just kidding. p.s. Vanity license plate PHANTOM
i remember last summer i would watch all ur videos because i wanted a z4 so bad while i had my mazda3. a couple months ago i got eventually got a beamer. i got a blacked out 06 e90 instead. i’m kinda over the z4 now but it’s still a cool car. might get one as a secondary car in the future.
Hi Joel Perhaps you might want to do a head light tint. I have polished out the tarnished lens as best a can do on my Z4, but still not perfect so I'm going to tint my lens with light smoke film.
@@itsjoel I've had one arm break off the passenger side holder, and just in general they feel like really poorly made plastic. I'm surprised because everything else on the car feels quality
Don't know why you don't just take the base of the aerial out and put a new one in and stick your stubby on your car, that happened to mine aswell and it is easy enough to do,u can access it from the boot by removing the panel at the side
I do remember actually having a go when I made the error a while back. I didn’t have the right sized screwdriver to get into the tight spot and unscrew the base from the bottom!
@@itsjoel it is a tight space to get into but it's worth doing as it looks the business😎what year Z4 you thinking of getting?if I was to buy another one now it would have to be the m
David Mcgrath hahah, maybe I’ll have another go one day! It’s all up in the air at the moment, I’d love to buy an M as my second car, but think my second car is going to be an E63 M6. So will probably get another 85/6
Giannina Hernandez hey, what exactly do you mean by that? One thing I have done, is coded my front turn signals to illuminate slightly at all times. Looks really mean at night!
