I see that you make history videos about pirates amongst other things. And I would like to share an idea for a future video of yours if it has not been made yet. So. How about a video about New Providence island, Nassau. Here is a link for you where you can do your research, unfortunately I dont know of any other sites which talk about Nassau during the Golden age of piracy. csphistorical.com/2015/07/26/the-strongest-man-carries-the-day-life-in-new-providence-1716-1717/
A real interesting one: The Werewolf of Livonia. In 1691 An octogenarian who was brought forth as a witness to a church robbery basically told the court, "yeah yeah never mind that. me and my two pals are werewolves. We are the Hounds of God and go to Hell to fight witches that steal the city's harvest." But because he admitted to not actually praying or going to church they decided he was just a lying pagan, flogged and banished him
I wonder what the "good" citizens who put these innocent people through such gruesome torture and deaths told the Lord when they had to answer for their sins.
Jeanette Penance can happen on earth, you did not know that? There are different rules for different people. Just because you think you see karma happening does not mean you understand God's Court in totality. If you want the rules, Fr Ripperger on sensus fidelium is quite informative. The Catholic church has the knowledge , although with the knowledge comes with great sorrow because you will see the huge gulf you must cross to get back to God. Ripperger is also knowledgeable in mental health and the steps needed to return to sanity. Forget about the sins you hear about the CC and focus on the centuries of wisdom and knowledge they have to offer. This internet age is the best time to "cram" for knowledge.
commonconservative that’s why Christianity is a joke. You get to do whatever evil things you want but in the end if you ask for forgiveness you get in to “heaven”... it doesn’t make sense to me. Also it doesn’t keep you people in line during your life because you “know” the loophole.
Look up Myrddin Wyllt, Rasputin, Nostradamus, Aleister Crowley, Gerald Gardner, Raymond Buckland, George Pickingill, Abramelin the Mage and Eliphas Levi.
There's loads just not talked about as much. Males died in both the most famous witch trials in Salam and Pendel. The pedal ones are the most interesting as they created the legal precedent that led to Salam.
too many....todays witchhunts seem to center on drug addicts, and the such...people shift the evil interests on groups they don't understand...i think in some cases like drug addiction...mental illness plays a big part in erratic behaivor supposedly observed by the prosecuters....when will men learn....probably never...blessed be
Poor people! Some were mentally ill, some were just slandered. The real eveil ones were the ones who accused them, tortured them and slandered them. They are the ones who are the real devils and demons.
There is nothing strange about male witches, as the whole idea behind the faith is celebrating both sides needed in creation. Both masculine and feminine are necessary. Therefore such symbols as the seal of Solomon, both symbols of the male and female contained within the circle A phallus (upwards triangle) and the challis (upside-down triangle aka womb) The literal embodiment of the essence of creation and birth in the natural world.
I think it is knowledge taught to mankind by the fallen angels, it is a very grievous sin, the present day witches would be wise to talk amongst themselves to determine the anticipated retributions they should be expecting from God as they go through life
Actually these cases were a minority, and false accusations were well known and generally assumed when no evidence was present. And a large amount of witchcraft cases were legit. Look into the existing literature, a good collection is made by Montague Summers in his "History of Witchcraft and Demonology". The pop media would let you believe that unpopular old ladies were the greatest victim group, and this is not true. Many of the convicted were of nobility, many apostate priests. People really should look into the subject instead of spouting platitudes and parrotting.
5:15 - An angel in armor? Interesting. I didn't think anything could hurt and angel so why would s/he need armor? 6:21 - "No one could conceive that a mere horse wrangler would be chosen to receive blessings and wisdom... " Colossal snobbery! Funny how they couldn't believe God or the angels would bother with the guy but had no trouble believing that the devil would! Thomas Looten's story reminds us; No matter how innocent you are, *ALWAYS GET A LAWYER!!!* The two nuns were bannished from the convent? Where could they go after that? It sounds like Madeline's relatives took her back, but what about Louise?
Reverend (Judge) George Burroughs of the Salem Witchcraft trials please. I've never seen or found any info that dug deep into how influential and significant his involvement in the dark magics actually were---seeing as most references only make mention of his name saying he was involved and accused. No details of how, why, causes of his wanting to get involved, etc.
Galfredy may well have been more of a witch than people are giving him credit for. This tale describes the ritual pact and structure of the grand grimoire, or at least the reduced volume that's so common nowadays. And if it really was his, then not only might he have been a witch, but a karcist.
Yes, men can be witches. It's a gender neutral term. It was only later that the Church influenced the term to signify women because witch women were healers and the Church wanted to get rid of them and have their doctors take the business. The term "Warlock" is a disputed term that some say means "oath-breaker" but there are other meanings to the word and it's an ongoing debate.
@@dankwizard8318 Yea, but witches are trying to take over America: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--_058VDgKc8.html and the word "witch" is just sooo.... DARK :)
A priest who's actually a witch sending demons into the houses of nun? You bet i'm making a quest in d&d about all this. Heck, all of these are great inspiration for d&d
That's code for a priest whose banging the nuns. A big no-no then and now. They've even found aborted fetuses and babies in Catholic churches to hide such acts. That's what happens when your cult forces celibacy and forbids marriage.
The title says: “4 most STRANGE male witches” But I find it strange that they’re still referring to these men as witches, when the more appropriate term is wizards.
No , during the time witch was used for both, only in modern media ate witches only portrayed as female exclusively. People who practice witchcraft and the occult today are witches regardless of gender.
Witch and wizard are not exchangeable as terms. From the general understanding, 'sorcerer' or 'warlock' would be more suitable. While it is true that men were more likely to be tried and executed as werewolves than as witches, the witch trials have seen male witches as well as female ones. The term was neutral, as it is again today.
That poor woman had her children testify against her in a witch trial? That's terrible. What ungrateful children. I mean, unless if she was abusive, I really don't see why someone would do that. Have children they say, it's going to be a great idea, they say..
Aside for the first guy, none of these men actually practiced witchcraft, instead they were accused and executed based on rumors and false accusations.
strange... Maybe Conrad was great at healing and it scared the ones that killed someone... Poor guy with plum thing might not had power at all... Good show bro
Thomas Reid, Bessie Dunlop of Lynn. Although Tom was dead supposedly at the time and lived with the fairies. Bessie was to be burned at the stack for Witchcraft. Interesting Scottish story.
Do you realise the last person to successfully use the fact his wife was taken by fairys so when he killed her he was killing a fairy not his wife was in 1895 in Ireland. Bridget Cleary look it up. Madness.
I love the amount of people in these comment sections directly addressing the allegations of witchcraft as if anyone believes they weee actually witches
I have my religious beliefs. I do not care what you believe and am interested in learning about those beliefs. As long as you do not hurt anyone on account of your faith. My belief is that you should love everyone god will sort us out in the end because that is not our purpose to judge.
How about the infamous Bruno? Not only was he burned but he refused to be strangled before burning. He also gave a scathing diatribe against the Catholic Church as his last words.
Technically à male practician of witchcraft are called warlock. (See any dictionnary) even if lots of wicca prefer To be called a witch du to à bad press on the name warlock (sounds evil)
Now what if someone accused of witchcraft said in trial that they were a witch, but their power was given to them by God to fight the forces of the devil? Would they still be executed?
Why do all of these past people talk about getting instruments from the devil or animals that are the devil when witchcraft really has nothing to do with the devil? Makes me think either people had no idea what they were accusing themselves of back then. Or were they forced to say those things because of the torture?
Have we touched on modern(ish) witches? Examining some of the founders of modern Wicca and other witchcraft based religions could be more interesting than simply reformating old videos for new views.
This is Billy. In the 1980's I was publicly tried in upstate NY as a witch. My victim whom I was accused of performing witchcraft upon was an elderly lady well known in their area for having fits & she was claiming was caused by demonic possession. She had written me requesting exorcism.I performed her ritual & she paid me for my ritual.About a year later I was arrested & prosecuted for witchcraft.

Warlock means oath breaker, it’s not a very nice name. Those are witches that will rat their covens out in order to cover their own behinds breaking their oath with their coven. A witch is a witch regardless of gender or sex.
Cor . Europe in around 1450 to 1750 was not a good time. If you didn't believe in the bible. You had it....nostradamus was only few who got away. Even the church was after casanova and had to do a runner. I know he was born in 1725. Died in 1798. The official date was in Poland , 1793. There's a mystery about Barbara zdunk. Maybe being the last witch execution in East prussia, now poland in 1811. But witchcraft wasn't a crime then. Sorry. An interesting subject. Good vid.👍 😊
How about Hugo Gifford, Wizard of Yester who built Hobgobblin Hall by summoning demon helpers (it still exists while the rest of Yester Castle is hardly there) ? He is an ancient ancestor of mine.
Read 2chronicals 33:6,7,8 Scotland and the people there from bare the burden of there ancestors, Joseph the second youngest son of Jacob, was a natural clareavoient, somthing to consider?
They are not. Some male witches identify as that, and thats fine, but witch is a unisex term for all who practice The Craft. However, never call a witch a warlock, because that is an insult of the highest caliber.
@@charmofpsychology1701 Warlock means "oath breaker". A witch who is exiled from a coven becomes a warlock. By calling a witch a warlock you are claiming they are untrustworthy and willing to break oaths. And trust me, words and oaths have a lot of meaning amongst witches.
Wizard is an ancient word for "wise man", wiz being wise, ard being man. Anyone could be a wizard, but they were usually men. Witches, however, were neither male or female. Witch comes from another ancient word, Wiccé (also where the word wicca comes from), which means "to bend". They were healers with supernatural powers.
