Thanks for the fun ideas. When I print on alternative papers like tissue paper or something deli wrap I make my pieces bigger than the printer paper and fold it onto the back and that's where I put my tape so I have a full printed sheet and there's really no rough edges to catch in my printer and it seems to work really well. Thanks again Gloria 🐂
Great ideas! I used to print on very thin paper years ago and would use regular scotch transparent tape to just tape the top edge. Never did tape the sides or bottom and it worked great. Love the idea of using the digital printables on the old book paper.
You can iron tissue paper on a low setting, and if you press it while it is sitting on top of a reg. paper, it will stick slightly to make it easier to tape down. Thank you for your wonderful idea's. I can't wait to try them.
Great ideas! I print on vellum too - nice effect. Maybe instead of putting all the papers in the paper tray at the same time, it would help to put them in the tray one at a time. Thanks for show us these great technics.
@@ScrappyWife On the old printer I had, it did smear - took a few days to dry. On the printer I have now, which is also an ink jet, it dries very quickly. The new printer uses a different kind of ink from the old one. Hope this helps.
@@mariewagner230 what kind of printer are you using? I’m looking at buying a new one and trying to get some good feedback on which one to go with. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer!
ScrappyWife, yasssssss, So, when I first saw this video, I almost screamed with joy, so let me first say thank u for sharing this “risky ideal” lol love it. Now my thoughts for printing on something that I would think u can’t get through the printer is to print on FABRIC. The wax paper is the answer. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. GOD BLESS.
Ok it didn’t work. Almost no ink came off on the cloth. It is time to put a new cartridge of ink. I’m going to do that and try again. Try using card stock instead of regular paper.
These are great tips! I love these ideas. As a retired library media specialist, I adore craft projects with book pages. So the idea of printing on some old pages is giving me all the great feels!
I have done this using a photograph and printing on tissue paper. Then pin the tissue paper on to a wax candle, use a heat tool or hair dryer (carefully) to melt the wax a bit, smooth as you go and you have a wonderful gift for someone. I used wedding and anniversary photos is black and white. The tissue is tricky even when the washi is all the way around it.
Thanks. This is such a fun idea. I wonder if selecting a thicker paper setting would help these go through without grabbing the washi. I think your printer adjusted automatically, but I know mine wouldn't. Going to give it a try with a few different types of paper. xxoo
You perked up in my RU-vid feed today and I am so glad you did. How creative you are! I have wanted to journal and scrap for some time but seemed to stall out each time I started. Your videos will be a well to keep my creative juices flowing. Thank you.
Thank you so much I really enjoyed and appreciate your time and effort showing this to us. Amazing results and stunning. I’ve subscribed and liked too.
These all looked great! Just got a new printer...not sure I want to risk it yet. I think the book pages wouldn't create problems. I saw a tip on Nik the Booksmith's channel about printing on painters' masking paper, available at Walmart, and I'm sure other places, on rolls. Looks sort of like Kraft paper but much lighter, and you can almost see through it. Thanks for sharing your inspiring ideas.
Wow! Fun techniques! Look forward to trying. I like cutting the papers smaller than the printer paper, as you suggested. For tape I'd use masking or painter's. Have you done fabric?
@@ScrappyWife The reason I said painter's is because it sticks well to keep paint from seeping under, so it shouldn't be pulled up in any place by the printer rollers. Just have to be sure not to tape on something that you want to save!
Hello! Thanks so much for sharing! I was wondering if the ink smeared on your tissue paper when adheared w/matte medium? I don’t want to go to all the trouble and just have it smear. My printer is inkjet and I think I’ve heard that happens on regular paper? Thanks in advance 💕
Brilliant printing ideas, thank you. Query for printing on book pages......I worry like mad that the words on the page under the images may not read well.....sort of out of context so might appear to say what it, in full page doesn't. Am I worrying too much? I don't read unwholesome books but any i bought just for the printkng would still worry me. Really would appreciate your thoughts/suggestions.
I think as long as it is an appropriate book, you’d probably be fine! I’ve also seen people that collect books in other languages that they don’t speak so that they don’t really need to worry about the words 💕
Oh my goodness! Absolutely beautiful! I can’t believe ur doing this?! 😀💗 I have a Question? Can u suggest a decent priced printer, that I can print digital stamps with that would work well with Copic markers? Also, do I really need a computer or could I use my iPad or iPhone? Thank you so much! Liz😊💗👍🏼
I actually have never used Copic markers, so I can’t really speak to that. I have an Epson Workforce that meets my needs pretty well. As far as needing a computer, that all depends on if your printer is WiFi enabled!
ScrappyWife I have a color laser printer end it works well on printing any flowers or anything onto a heavy weight card stock. But as the laser has a powder type consistency, as opposed to the liquid that an inkjet has, I wouldn’t have any liquid to be able to transfer onto another piece of paper as you did coming off of the wax paper. When I have a moment I am going to try and see what occurs. Thanks for replying so quickly.
@@ScrappyWife Do you know if you can print out items on copy paper or card stock and decoupage it to another surface without the ink smearing? I need to get a printer and someone told me a laser printer is what will do that, but the ink is really expensive. I'm just trying to decide what kind of printer to get. Thanks for your input. 😊
ladybug639 - I have decoupaged with pictures that I have printed out. Inkjet isn’t exactly permanent, meaning it will react with water, but generally I haven’t had issues using matte gel medium or anything like that.
@@ScrappyWife Thanks so much. That is good to know. I have some downloaded files from By the well 4God from one of their kits and i want to use them. Thanks for the inspiration, and the helpful information. I appreciate it.
Loved them all!! Can't wait to play!! I was already going today to pick up a new color printer!! Now I really can't wait to pick one up and play!!! ;) Thanks!!! Hugs....k :)
