The question of "what type of paper do you use" is a common question. We want to ensure that you can print our digital kits just as you see them on your screen, and always easily achieve excellent results.
In this video we show you what a printed page looks like on different paper, what paper we suggest and how to make small adjustments to your home printer to get great results every time.

I found your video by Google searching "best cardstock to use for digital paper". Although I don't have the Epson paper mentioned in the video, I have Neenah Bright White 96 64# after changing my settings in my Epson ET-3760 to the ones in your video, my print quality has improved 100%. I want to point out another setting that's not mentioned in the video. When you're in "Printing Preferences" on the "Main" screen, under "Quality" there's an option on the bottom for "more settings". A pop will show a slider that goes from speed to quality. Although I turned off "High Speed", this was set at 75% towards the quality side. I slid it all the way over to quality. I want to thank you so much for such an awesome video. I'm a new subscriber, Pinterest follower, signed up for your newsletter (thank you for the gracious coupon), and made my first order. Have a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! :)

Thank you so much for this tutorial! I have an Epson WF 7610 and love it, but do find that sometimes the colors on the printed paper do not look exactly like they do on the computer. I usually use AC cardstock to make cards, 3D svg projects... I love being able to use digital paper. I tried a test print with regular printer paper with the original settings and the ones you show in your tutorial. Quite a difference!!!! Thanks again!!

This was very helpful! I did try to find the paper you mention on Amazon in the US but didn't find it.. only Amazon UK. I'll check out different office supply stores like you mentioned. I appreciate your responses to ALL of the comments who had questions! Is very helpful. I've printed some of your collection on the Georgia Pacific papers that are "Premium Cardstock" and are 92 brightness and are 199 g/m so I think they are heavier than the 44 lb. I think they are more like 65 lb. and it prints quite well. Not quite as vivid as I'd like but I'm going to try adjusting the color settings like you showed us. My only problem with Georgia Pacific papers is that they don't cut well.. there is almost always a kind of fluffy shredded look to the edges, even when I use a brand new blade in my trimmer! I'll definitely try to find the Epson papers!
@NitwitCollections
@NitwitCollections 5 лет назад
We are glad to hear that our video was helpful! You may want to check out Epson's website as they do sell it as well at a fair price. Before doing that though, you may find the Georgia Pacific paper that you have will work well for you once you have adjusted your printer settings as I have heard good things about that brand of paper and in that weight. As for the paper "shredding" you definitely will not have it with the Epson (just in case you're wondering) as we haven't changed the blade in our cutter as often as we should and it still cuts well. Happy Creating!

Just looked up presentation paper, unfortunately 🇨🇦Staples & 🇨🇦Wally World both only sell it online. I print most of my images out on cardstock, though most of my plain cardstock is from 🇨🇦Michael’s. Limited selection here in the big city! I don’t get the variety of print options that your printer offers, maybe because I work in/print from usually Silhouette Design Studio or Word. We have Photoshop on my Hub’s new computer-the MacPro ground to almost a halt when I put it on the computer I’m using. The hazards of using 10yo computers! I am glad I found your video, the comparisons were very enlightening. Using a HP Officejet Pro 8720 and looking for a non-HP due to their habit of recharging the ink randomly and after each print.
@NitwitCollections
@NitwitCollections Год назад
We are glad to hear that you found our video helpful! If you can't find the paper at local stores, you can order it online through Epson themselves....and most times their price is equal to or cheaper! If you are looking for these print options.....simply Google search your "HP Officejet pro 8720 adjust saturation" and it will show you how to use this option. Hope this helps and that you get the prints you are looking for!

I had always used Epson until recently. I had the WF as well. I even had the wide format and it worked beautifully for about 6 months. Epson was of no help in fixing all of the problems that ensued....a far cry from the customer service that had had from them in the past. I am glad that you have a great printer and I hope that it continues to produce for you. I jumped ship. I am trying out a Brother and so far so good. I still have all of my Epson products and will continue to use them. It was great company in its heyday....they just need to get back to the customer service that they once provided. But it seems to be like that with most companies these days. So sad. I really enjoyed this video though. You provided a great service. :-)

Thanks for your joining in on this recommendation on the Epson products. Thank you for this video. It was very informative. My go to printers have been Epson and Canon. I used to print a lot of photos and I found that they gave me the best results. I looked into buying the Epson eco tank a year or 2 ago but the 5 star reviews were only about 60 % and so I went with a canon to replace the Epson I had that wasn’t old but it was getting harder to find ink cartridges for it. I will definitely try the the Epson paper to print my digital kits

This has been helpful, especially the setting tutorial. I used your kits to create mini albums and like the Georgia Pacific paper you mention below. However, the one problem I have is, what happens if the book gets wet - pages printed on inkjets have a problem with the color running - so if something is accidentally spilled on them by the recipient then they have ruined the book. I'm experimenting with spray on fixatives-I've had a recommendation of Modge Podge but that gets expensive and it's time consuming to spray every page/element. Laser printers for everyday use are pretty much out of the question for most of us due to the cost of the cartridges. What is your recommendation for this dilemma? Love digital kits, but am hesitant since so much work goes into creating an album and as previously stated, it could be so easily destroyed by fluids.
@NitwitCollections
@NitwitCollections 7 лет назад
Hi Loreeta....thanks for your message and we are glad that you enjoyed the video! We haven't got the perfect answer for protecting your mini album from spills and water, but Mod Podge would have also been our suggestion as we have seen others use it too. Good luck with testing your sprays, and please let us all know if you come across the perfect item....we'd all appreciate the tip!

Thank you for this helpful video. I’m interested to know what paper you recommend for those of us who are using digitals for making journals ("junk journals"). I am using the paper you recommend for ephemera, but it is a bit too heavy for journal pages. I have used and love Red River brand matte photo paper (32 lb), but it has gotten pricey. Thank you in advance for any help on this. 🙏🤗
@NitwitCollections
@NitwitCollections 5 лет назад
Thank you for your comment and we are happy to hear that you found our video helpful. I understand your need for a lighter weight paper for your journals. I don't have a specific brand for this lighter weight, but what you will want to look for is that the brightness is more than 92. This will give you excellent results....the lower the brightness number the more washed out or grungy looking your printing will come out. Hope this helps!

Hi @LeaFranceTV, thank you for your compliments on our video and your question! We print our embellishments on the same paper, but I do know that it is common to print on a thicker weight paper around 80lb/220GSM. We like the look and feel of the same weight as we usually decoupage some embellishments which gives them the weightier look and feel. Hope this helps!

Hi @Vesta McDonald....thank you for your question! Yes, there are wide format Ecotank printers on the market such as the Epson ET-7750. They are still a little pricey as they are a newer addition to company's product lines so it really comes down to whether or not its worth it to each individual.

I normally use cardstock to create mini albums and cards. What cardstock would you recommend??
@NitwitCollections
@NitwitCollections 7 лет назад
Hi Janet.....there are so many decent brands of cardstock out there, we have found the Georgia Pacific one to give great results. If you can't find that particular brand, just make sure that you get one that has a brightness of at least 92 or higher so that you know it will print properly and not give you subdued colours due to the paper not being as "white" as it should be.

Hi LueLaBell....thanks for your compliments on our designs and your questions! Yes, Microsoft now charges for MS Word unfortunately. The only way to get it cheaper is to look on Ebay, etc. for an older copy for Microsoft Office that someone is selling. As for the printer, yes we still certainly recommend Epson printers, hands down. Everyone has their favourites and in our opinion Epson is the best. We currently have the ET-4550 ecotank and have printed hundreds and hundreds of sheets and have still not had to refill the tanks yet (and it comes with enough ink to refill them twice). I would encourage you on this purchase! Good luck!

So when you make a card or mini album, do you print on printer paper and glue it to cardstock?
@NitwitCollections
@NitwitCollections 7 лет назад
Hi Dallas.....you certainly can print and glue them to cardstock if you are also making a mini album or card form, but what I find with this weight of paper that we've suggested (44lb) is that I do not need the cardstock at all. If you take a look at our Mini Wrap Journal video tutorial, you will see how I have just printed the 2 pages (inside and outside covers) and glued the 2 printed pages together to form a thick cover. I hope that this helps!

Hi Julie....thank you for your question! The 44lb paper is very similar to what you would get when purchasing a scrapbook paper in the craft store. You certainly can go to a heavier weight, that is no problem at all.....we recommend this paper and weight as it combines quality and cost effectiveness together. Thanks again for your comment.

The only difference I can see is ..one has a creamy background and the other has a bright white background????

You are pretty much correct Carol.....the only other difference is the paper weight. If you want to see the difference yourself, you can try printing on regular copy paper and then on a Presentation Paper. You will see the difference in the boldness of the colours and the sharp, crisp detail of the images. The differences in the whiteness also contribute to this better quality print. I hope that this makes sense, and we encourage to try it for yourself so that you can see the difference that these paper types make.

The left paper looks yellow and the right looks white to me

Yes, you are correct! You will see a light yellowish hue on one side and that is not the side to print on. You want to be sure that when you load your paper that you are printing on the white side!
