Thanks for reminding me that Criterion released a blu-ray version of "Floating Weeds". I look forward to upgrading my DVD edition of this excellent release.

Thank you for your wonderful extensive thoughts on these works by Ozu. The Criterion DVD was the first Ozu film I ever saw. I had been a Kurosawa and Mizoguchi admirer but avoided Ozu because I thought his films would be too subtle for my attention span. I remember being blown away by the beauty of the "Floating Weeds" photography and the emotional impact of its story. I hate to admit it but I've avoided watching "A Story of Floating Weeds" because it's silent. But after seeing your video, I'm planning to view it soon. Thanks again!
