I’ve owned 3 wide ride seats , first 2 were great , my current one purchased in 2018 is the worst seat I’ve ever owned as they changed how the air ride works , no matter how high I put the seat it bottoms out on hard bumps with almost no travel up & down

Is there a small shock absorber in seat that prevents bottoming .

Lost air driver side but ok operation on passenger. Only 3 years old. Wonder if I could lift cushion up to see what's wrong. I see front handle, do I pull that outward to pop seat off to inspect shock and isolator ?

Yes, probably air line is pinched

I hate the wide ride. It's like sitting on a pail with a pillow over it. No support. I wore out a Talladega (15 years). LOVED that seat. Unfortunately they discontinued that seat. Can't even get parts for it.

Why would anyone buy a low back seat. What if you want to lean back on long, long drives to rest your neck and head. Can't do that on a low back. Also, guess what? Even semis get rear ended by other semis. There goes your neck. Only way to go is a wide-ride with high back and dual arm rests. I have spent too many miles (over 2 million verifiable) on the highway to go cheap on a seat.

Oby-1 mid backs used to be an option from the factory, I used to see them come in flat top and day cab Pete's and KW's. They still might be an option today when ordering truck, I don't know. And on day cabs, mid backs provided quite a bit more room because there's not half a seat rubbing up against the back window on a Pete or back of the cab on a KW. Lot of drivers, myself included like to sit with our back straight up and down, I used to drive a truck with low backs and I never remember being uncomfortable in it. This is also much of the story with the majority of farm equipment out there, go all day and no issues.

@@walkerforsyth6221 just got a proride lopro midback black leather. I drive a 389 day cab heavy haul. Like for my head to go back for naps when waiting. Seat is amazing
