Friend, I've watched a bunch of videos you've put out! You're so honest, so open about your life. Your kids will appreciate these as they grow older. So I write this in that spirit of admiration. Is your blood pressure high? I write that because it took so long for you to recover from Covid. This whole freaking country is loaded with people with high blood pressure. You'd be an inspiration to a lot of people if you publicly tackled the issue. All the best!!
I put a Sears Atlas II in my truck. Took the base off which dropped it 3 inches. Made it just right to put a touch of air in it and still sit low. Very pleased with the seat.
Best seat in the business, I always unload the back hopper first if I’m drawing out a line, gotta keep that weight on the drives. Glad your feeling better buddy! 🚛💨💨💨
I think there are some base/adapters for those seats that you could bolt on and raise it some. I chopped my bostrom hi base and made the seat lower as well as changed where the bolt pattern is so that I can move the seat back another 3 inches
In my experience, the Bostrom seats use an oil dampened shock absorber which greatly helps to dampen the "bounce" of the air ride seat and save your back. I replaced my Sears brand seats that came in my Pete because they don't have a shock, and the suspension would blow through the travel of the airbag and hit the bumpstops which transfers shock to your spine and eventually throws out your whole low back. I can't say enough how much I prefer the Bostrom suspension over the Sears suspension because of that.
Speaking of great barbecue joints. If you come back through Wickliffe Kentucky Hillbilly barbecue in Wickliffe is really good too but they only accept cash.
I’ve had a couple bostrom seats both a very long time ago. One I loved and the second was so so. I don’t know that I would like that one. Pretty much sitting on the floor wasn’t my thing . When I started driving, late 70s, air ride seats wasn’t a thing at least to me. I’ll take some air under my butt anytime even if I don’t look cool.
I had a bostrom wide ride years ago and i am not a fan so I was leary about this one but it looks really good so I decided to try it. The beauty in this low base seat is I can actually air it up to where I like and get the use out of an air seat
@@thedirtytrucker9633 that’s a good thing. No matter how nice a truck is if you don’t have a good comfortable seat to sit in your job is going to be miserable. I know that from experience. Also I really enjoy your videos, thanks.
Some of the places you load / unload at seem to have some very short clearances. How tall is your hopper, or what is the lowest door you may handle? Thanks in advance.
I really don’t know how tall it is. Probably 11.5 feet. My stacks would hit long before my trailer would though. They are nearly 13 foot. I’m sure at some point you will see me back in somewhere. Some of the old elevators around home my trailer by itself won’t go in though
Hey Boss, first just want to say I really enjoy your channel, and thank you for all the great content. I always liked the idea of pulling a hopper bottom, but like you said there’s just to many of them out there. Have you ever thought about pulling a walking floor trailer to do what you do?It’s an idea I’ve been throwing around, I just don’t know if there’s enough work for them.
Only thing bad about a walking floor is they are generally 4 to 5k heavier than a hopper, we pull both hoppers and WFs as well as tankers, AG trucking is the way to go buddy!
Yes Sir, I agree. Being raised on the farm I've always wanted to stay in ag trucking, but life happens sometimes. I still do some ag with this end dump, but have wondered if a walking floor would be anymore profitable.
Hey man I appreciate it!! I wouldn’t mind having a walking floor or a belt trailer. I have some places I could load around here but it wouldn’t be steady enough to justify the cost of the trailer
Idk I kinda like the rough around the edges look. I would imagine I’d be cranky all the time from worrying about something happening to the paint if I had a new paint job
Thank you! The low base on the seat is a preference. I like it because I can air it up and and have the air amount of pressure on my knees and sit at the height I’m comfortable and sit get the advantage of an air ride seat vs sitting flat on the floor. The low back helps me be able to lay my head back further because the back of the cab keeps a high back from reclining any
Glad you liked it, next time you need to try court street cafe, it’s not but a couple hundred yards south of there. Not a BBQ place but just some good southern comfort food.
I don’t want to sell my truck but if I did some one would want it WAY worse than I do. That attachment tax is rough😂 but it really would be like 80 grand to make me want to part with it. My next truck would probably be a 97-00 379 with a cat. I wouldn’t be opposed to a 386 glider kit though
@@thedirtytrucker9633 I can't drive one that low cant see s--t and like you I don't like a lot of air in the seat due to rough roads causing me to hit my or head or slamming me down and killing my back. The best seat I found is that Bose ride system it adjust to your weight and rides great but the ones i used were just cloth and not to fancy looking.
