🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation: 00:00 🎬 The video demonstrates four hacks for using Chat GPT to enhance Power Apps productivity. 01:12 🤖 Chat GPT can help write complex formulas, like is match functions with regular expressions, saving time and effort. 04:13 🔄 Refining prompts and being specific helps get better responses from Chat GPT. 06:29 🚀 Chat GPT can find and fix typos in HTML code, helping with debugging and finding errors. 11:13 🔄 Using Chat GPT for repetitive work, like generating repetitive patterns, saves time and avoids errors. 15:34 🎨 Chat GPT can help pick complementary colors, making it useful for design and color scheme selection in Power Apps. I've been using Chat GPT (and your videos obviously) to teach myself Power Apps and I find that just figuring out how to word my problem in a way that Chat GPT understands helps me figure out what the solution should be.
Glad it was helpful and thank you for the support. I think seeing that everyone struggles and gets bad answers help. The key is don't give up and find a different way to ask. 😊
Great examples, but it is worth remembering that Chat-GPT is not confidential so the personal information of actual data subjects should never be pasted into a conversation like this as it would likely constitute a breach of confidentiality or unlawful processing under GDPR. Use anonymised or preferably dummy data, folks!
Hey Shane, awesome video. Its funny you brought up using chatgpt for html, as thats exactly what im working on the last couple of days. I have an app thats a multi step review, and im attempting to use an html element to display the fields of the form in the "display" version. my thought is its easier on the app than a form control and once written out i can use it on all my "step" screen. the basic concept is working but i cant get any styles to display, its just plain text ad different sizes. is this a limit of the html input?
Hey, Shane. Love this and you other videos. You said in this video that you use the plugins on ChatGPT all the time. Do you use any of them for helping you with PowerApps, or just for other cases?
Thanks for this Shane. Your videos are a great resource that I use constantly. Have you created anything on the App.Formulas property and/or Dataverse filtering? I am using App.Formulas to refresh data that is updated in Dataverse and I have been having issues trying to use multiple Filter conditions when filtering Dataverse tables using && or II. Both or a combined video would be very helpful. Thanks again for all you do!
Love the power of Chat GPT. But something even Chat GPT doesn't know - I have been trying to get the presence information of a gallery of users but I can't seem to get it to work. Hopefully you will have a video about this scenario soon as i find your videos very user friendly.
these are my fav vids from you mate, cheers v. much. Quick Q though: your paid sub gives you access to Chat GPT Plus (v4) but does that bring post Sep '21 internet data into the mix? If not, what benefit does it give you other than priority access and a more 'intelligent' output syntax, because I've noticed 100% success in connecting to the free service now the hype has died down, so what's the incentive to pay for a sub unless it brings in up-to-date data - the one major draw-back for me is the Sep'21 cut-off (does CGPT+ resolve this?). Ta!
Paid does not get me post 9/2021 right now. For a while there was a browse Plug In but they it away to fix it. Paid gets me plugins which lets me query different ways using 3rd party tools. GPT4 is smarter and answers better though slower. Paid also has a code interpreter but I haven't used it. I am happy being paid and getting all of the toys but if free is working for you keep going. :) I am just glad you are using it.
Your videos have been super helpful and I have incorporated several guides in my app. I started using chat GPT to help with other functions but noticed that the formula’s don’t always work. Not sure if it’s user error but wouldn’t be surprised if it is. I have a screen with all of my inventory items. I have it set to when multiple items are selected (checkbox), they appear on another screen which is the check out screen. This screen is where the user enters one qty for all the items that were selected (no check boxes in this gallery) and have it remove the qty from my available qty in the app and on share point list. When asking chat GPT it gave some options that kept giving me error messages. Do you have a video that will help me with this? Or if you know what I should ask Chat GPT would be helpful. I’ve tried your check out and check in videos but the layout doesn’t flow with what I am trying to do. I hope all of this makes sense.
Check-in out video was going to be my recommendations. While that layout doesn't work for you I think the Patch logic of adding and subtracting from inventory is what you need. Maybe give it another watch, and focus on learning how that apps works, instead of what you are hoping to build. Then you can try to twist that logic to what you need?
Per App is still there. They don't promote it on the website but if you have the ability to look at licenses in Office 365 Admin you will see them. Here I tweeted a screenshot of it. twitter.com/ShanesCows/status/1687170316005433346?s=20
@@ShanesCows i agree its still there but i talk to customer care and they are saying they are not sure how ling it will remain.. I have seen in past how Microsoft take decisions to scrap tools without thinking about customers so I fear they may scrap these plans too and bring something which is not feasible to buy by small companies..or there might be hidden costs like how they just give 250mb of database space and force you to but more space at exorbitant prices..
How would we able to us a keyboard button to verify canvas app. Like if i want to check my mail is no repeated in list how can i do that with the help of single button without pressing SAVE button
