First virtual riot, then zomboy, then flux pavilion. This series has become a dream for all old school edm fans Edit: and Au5 and MUST DIE!, who I realize are also well known despite the fact that I didn’t listen to them as much.
There are eurorack synth modules that convert the wiichuck axis/button information to CV. I love using mine for filter sweeps and weird glitchy modulation.
Yours was my favorite. It gave me that that squeezy feeling in my chest. You can play instruments, you can sing, you seem to have endless gear and gadgets. You must have a mind for complexity, as such a vast palette could be overwhelming
What this thinks it's teaching me: How one sample can be made into so many different projects What it's actually teaching me: What the hell all these machines are called
I would kill to see a full breakdown of flux’s song. That listening experience was completely mental. Flux if you’re seeing this, please give the people what they want. 🙏
Man I must admit, I havent kept up with new Flux P since like 2014ish. That's about to change! My whole body is goosebumps and my face is stuck in stank-face. Well done!
Welcome to *4 Producers 1 Sample!* We have: • Songs made out of doors • Wii Remote controlled songs • Songs made from foreign bodies • "It's an honor to be here, thanks for having me!" • Daddies! (some additional coding required) • "Ooh, it's chill!" • _The Sax_ ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) • "I don't even know where's the sample?" • Halftime! • "So everything you hear is the sample." • Lots of stretched out and/or reversed sounds • "How are they doing this?" • Samples made into _smol_ clips made into waveforms • " *YOY YOY YOY* " And much more! (leave your suggestions below)
I swear Flux's version sounds like some trailer to an action movie like James Bond. the funk attached with that atmospheric energy just compliment each other so well
Exactly!! That's what I was telling myself, sounds like trailer and hard core one as well in each aspect I was blown away and surprised seriously at to process!!
I'm torn tho, both feels were so good. I almost wish I could find out what the beat would have sounded like if he continued his first thought in the intro!
Laura's piece had me feeling some type of way. Then when I heard Flux, he just took me into another universe, goosebumps all over and felt kinda emotional lol
thank you so much!!! My track for this episode is OUT NOW!!! "Can I Hold You Anymore? feat. Jamie Lidell." Go grab the track and listen on repeat! lauraescude.lnk.to/ENOUGHNESS out now everywhere (and this link is the hub to everywhere) :) Thx for your support!
Recue looks like he could be a hitman, just staring over at me waiting for the moment to strike. Recue with glasses looks like he could be a friendly professor, but is really a hitman, just staring over at me waiting for the moment to strike.
That flux pavilion breakdown was a revelation. I've always known flux for having some of the lushest textures around: massive, swelling synth chords. Finding out that all of that is just a bunch of very meh sounds but layered very heavily was very mind bending
I think Andrew nailed it when he said, "Like James Bond in the year 3000." for Flux Pavillion's tune. It was so epic and cinematic. Really big vibe from all the artists this episode!
This is probably one of my fave episodes of this series. Laura’s was so dreamy and orchestral, I love the Wii controller use too. Recue’s use of the sample stayed true to the essence of the series and it was so cool seeing what he did with the limits he set upon himself. Flux’s was stellar, I think Andrew had it right when he said “James Bond in the year 3000”. The sample itself was amazing alone. I found myself singing “I cannot hold” like I was in a Cheetos commercial or something. Mr. Lidell’s personality was also very infectious with his good vibes. Andrew was Andrew. Amazing. Funky. Sexcellent. Andrew.
God DAMN Flux killed it. But mad props to Andrew’s flip for being able to follow that! I feel like such a proud parent seeing all of the incredible artists this series gets
andrews face at 15:10 , i feel it too. It isn't fair. How can one be so good. Everyone wrote such gorgeous tracks but Flux wrote something with immense emotion, completely cathartic.
Love how Jamie Lidell is pumped up for every rendition of his story. You don't see this camaraderie and appreciation in many other creative fields, other than music industry. Lovely to see such support and acknowledgement, even when they completely "butcher" your beautiful voice into pieces. Loved every single one of the tracks.
Laura got me feel like I’m exploring an alien paradise. Recue got me feel like I’m doing space racing with my sick spaceship. FP got me feel like I just blew up my ex husband’s mansion and now I’m drunk dancing by the fire at night. Andrew got me feel like I’m in an underground party dancing my ass off in the crowd.
How everyone's version sounded like Escudè : that song you hear In your car while returning from somewhere super tired to relax to Recue : that song you can't remember the name of but you can't stop vibing to it when you last heard it at a party Flux pavilion : a theme for Antagonist based in a large city with skyscrapers and all Andrew's : that one song you save to play while commuting
Recues track was fucking crazy well produced you can clearly tell he is a very high level producer. True expertise in granular synthesis. And that opening impact was stupid good.
Seeing both Jamie Lidell and Flux Pavilion on this episode was absolutely unexpected. Every single song was a cinematic journey, and I can’t wait to replay them all. Now all we need are those flutes...
Recue is just god. Added his full track on Spotify and only then realized that he used this sample. I was like - "Hmmmmmm, where did I hear this sample?" and it was Recue all along. Keep doing what you are doing. I am a musician myself and was very surprised with such level of texture. Reminds me of some Aphex Twin tracks too, and that is a good thing xD
for me it was Lauras masterpiece. I genuinly was shocked when I heard THIS song I listened to hundreds of times already. One of my favourite without a doubt
Flux Pavilion's version is literally one of the best things I've heard in a really long time. Oof, so good. Amazing musical alchemy. And that's even in contrast to the rest which were so, so good and easily among the best of this entire series.
Wow, Laura brought out so many things I've never heard of let alone seen in action. Not surprised that an Ableton trainer would be in love with this series haha there is so much to learn from the talent that's out here
I LOVED Flux Pavilion's version. Making it a 6/8 time signature was such a mood. This is such a great series. ELIMINATE has to appear on one of these sometime!
