How much to serve:
for 6 months baby = 1 tsp (starting week), later 1 tbsp
for 7 months baby = 2 - 3 tbsp ( or 1/4 cup )
for 8 months baby = 1/3 cup

rice - 1 tbsp
carrot - 1/2 cup ( peeled & chopped )
water - 3/4 cup ( 180 ml )
RECIPE #2 - Rice & peas puree
Ingredients: ( for #2 - rice & peas puree )
rice - 1 tbsp
peas - 1/2 cup ( fresh or frozen )
water - 3/4 cup ( 180 ml )
RECIPE #3 - Rice & potato puree
Ingredients: ( for #3 - rice & potato puree )
rice - 1 tbsp
potato or sweet potato - 1/2 cup
carrot - 1 tbsp
water - 3/4 cup ( 180 ml )
RECIPE #4 - Rice & dal puree
Ingredients: ( for #4 - rice & dal puree )

Hi mommy. Can rice possibly cause or add to my baby's constipation issues? Is there anything I can combine with these recipes to assure it doesn't happen? I would really like to try these for weight gain but i fear it might result in constipation, a problem I have JUST gotten out of after trying everything. Don't want to go back there. Please help

Hi Anathi :), cooking with vegetables like in this above recipes will prevent that. Also, give 20ml to 40 ml water 2 or 3 times daily once you start solids. Another great tip is to give at least 1 fruit puree every day to prevent constipation. Hope this helps:)

Hi Vida :), salt and sugar are not recommended until 12 months.. For natural sweetness, you can add mashed banana or cook with dates :)
