This is for sure one of my favorite drift cars of all time. Large displacement, high compression V8s that rev up almost as fast as a bike engine are a thing of beauty.

@@hpa101 Taz I just scored a 2J 147S Aristo. Looking at getting an S15 and Mazda FC3S as shells and maybe building a quad rotor 26 B. Could we get a series on the logistics involved in switching around motors between different chassis from an ECU standpoint? Cheers

Fantastic interview! One question - why would crankcase vacuum be greater with an iron block vs aluminum?
@spdcrzy
@spdcrzy 5 месяцев назад
Because of how much an aluminum block can change in dimension compared to an iron block. Depends on the quality and type of aluminum too, though.

EWWW, A FRAM OIL FILTER?!?!?!?!? @1:04 Can we get a Fram air filter while were at it?

Vacuum does NOT pull oil from wrist pins... it's an old wives tale.
@hpa101
@hpa101 4 года назад
To be clear it's not necessarily the vacuum pulling the oil out as much as the vacuum in the sump reduces the windage which in turn reduces the supply of lubricating oil if you're not running some form of forced pin oiling. This is a consideration that the smartest dry sump manufactures out there will be able to clarify for you further if you fit such a system, and possibly something we might be able to look at closer in the future too content wise - Taz.

@@hpa101 With all due respect, your logic is flawed and I feel it would be worth delving into for you and your followers. Even in the interview Carl tells you what the Nascar (Winson cup ) guys do. I have a street car that idles at 11" and goes down the road at 20-22" ( as that's all it will make with an alloy block) if it would pull 30" I'd have it. It is a standard small block ford with nothing out of the ordinary for the oiling system. Cheers
@hpa101
@hpa101 4 года назад
You might have to take that up with dry sump manufactures and race teams who spend more time and money on RnD for these systems than anyone rather than us. Motorsports applications and street applications are very, very different animals. It is actually something Bill from Dailey Engineering talks about here too: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-L84P5ChzRYY.html The whole interview is a great watch if you have the time - Taz.

There are subtitles. Please don't tell me we need to make a video on how to turn them on, because if you are struggling with the accent I doubt you will understand it 😂 - Taz.
