75% of our Sand Dunes are in a 'Poor State', There are also under added pressure form human activities.
Local communities are working with natural nature based solution to restore and protect sand dunes. The are planting Marram Grasses and installing fencing. Reducing human impact on the sand dunes key.
Unfortunately, these activities of ours are damaging to sand dunes

. Roaming dogs stressing sheep and cattle, and ground nesting birds

. Follow the directions of local signage

. Watch wildlife from a distance
. Protect & Respect the Dunes

The campaign launch of the #ProtectOurDunes, was officially launched on Friday the 25th of June 2021 to coincide with World Sand Dune Day and will run until September 2021; highlights the importance of conserving these vital coastal habitats around the world.
