I recommend just save up for the Greats sneakers since they are made out of full-grain leather which is more durable/better quality, unlike the new republics which is made out of action leather which is lower quality leather but if you are on a budget they are great.
i got the kurt new republics on sale on their website since they have open box prices. Maybe a small scuff or just a return but they were about 58 dollars if i remember correct. i know some may not be into that but i loved getting almost half off just for a small "issue"
For anyone who reads this an is curious, the shoes look perfect. I don’t even see any issues and it still comes in a nice box with the canvas bag and everything. I’d say they didn’t like it because of a small glue spot on seam of the upper and sole meeting but it’s basically impossible to spot even up close. I’d highly recommend taking advantage.
