Missing someone doesn't always have to be sad... Being happy for em or finding peace IS possible and it's what I'm aiming for. The sadness goes away too, I just don't know how to get there. :p

@@Chang1202 Jesus Christ is the only answer. Please allow me to share my best friend's story with you. This family truly knows where to turn in times of grief. Family Story Little did our family of six know that Friday evening, September 24th, 2021, would be the last night our family would be complete. We laughed together, played games, sang, and enjoyed listening as our 16-year-old son, Ethan, played the piano for us. I packed a lunch for Ethan for a church mountain hike he was going on the following day. My mother (who was visiting from out of state) and I woke early with Ethan on Saturday morning. He hugged me and smiled, never pulling away or rushing me. He got in the car, waved, said he'd see me later and he loved me. It was hard to watch my "new driver" heading out on his own that morning. As Ethan pulled out of the gate, I turned to my mother and said, "It's just so hard letting go." Little did I know how much "letting go" I was really doing. That was the last time I saw Ethan. He did not make it home that evening. That afternoon, a friend tried to contact my husband, leaving an urgent message to call him back. He tried several times to return the call to no avail. As we were preparing supper, an overwhelming feeling of deep concern for Ethan filled my heart. I quietly blinked back tears. I glanced out the window, half expecting to see a police officer pull up to the house, but no one arrived. However, within a few minutes, a patrol car DID pull into the driveway. In my heart, I feared the worst. My husband and I went out to meet the officer, who confirmed our fears. Hesitantly, he told us our son had fallen off of a bluff and had succumbed to his injuries. Our hearts were crushed; they still are. Yet, in all of our brokenness, deep, continual grief and loneliness, our family has such a blessed Hope and assurance that we will see our dear son and brother again. You see, when Ethan was a young boy, he was saved; he put his faith in Jesus alone to forgive his sins and to take him to Heaven when he died. He realized some very important truths from the Bible that he would want to share with you. His Story Everyone is a sinner. Sin is any violation of God’s Law. God is holy, just and righteous, and He cannot allow sin in His presence. Ethan realized that he - like all of us - had sinned; and his sin separated Him from God. “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; ” (Romans 3:23) “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:” (Romans 5:12) He understood that, because of his sin, he deserved to spend eternity in Hell. “For the wages of sin is death;” (Romans 6:23a) [Wages: price] “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” (Revelation 21:8) Ethan believed that Jesus, God’s Son, paid the price for all sin when He died on the cross - because His sinless sacrifice was the only thing that could satisfy the just demands of a righteous, holy God. Jesus was buried in a borrowed tomb, but He arose the third day, triumphant over sin, death, and Hell. Jesus is alive today! “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16) “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9) Ethan was sorry for his sin, repented (turned), and received by faith the free gift that God offered to him. “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13) “...but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23b) Because of this great salvation, Ethan lived his life serving Jesus. He worked hard to spread this Good News to the world. He is alive in Heaven with Jesus today; and because of this great HOPE in Christ, we know we will see him again soon - not because he was a great kid, but because of his faith in the great Saviour! “And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.” (John 10:28) Your Story What about you? What if you had fallen to your death that day - What if you were to die today? Where will you spend eternity - Heaven or the Lake of Fire? There will not be any parties in the Lake of Fire. It is a place of eternal torment for those who reject God's Son. The Word of God is very clear that there is only One Way to Heaven. “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6) We did not know that Ethan would step into eternity that day; however, because he put his faith in Jesus alone for his salvation, Ethan was ready to go. Some day - perhaps today - you will take your last breath here on earth, and you will step into eternity. Where you spend eternity is determined by what you do with Jesus Christ. Will you accept Him or reject Him? You are not promised another day or another breath. Eternity begins soon - Are you ready? “...Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved…” (Acts 16:31b) “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13) “(...behold, now is the day of salvation.)” (2 Corinthians 6:2c) ****************************** This testimony has been made into a tract form as well, so if you or your church are interested in having them to pass out, please go to libertyfaith.net and you will find the contact info there. God bless! Tribute to Ethan Lakey ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-EhobcQZ6Qb8.html

Surround yourself with people you love and do things that you love to do. I promise things will improve with time. Lastly, seek a therapist. They are very helpful during this fragile time.

I lost my mom a little over a month ago. On my birthday. She died on my birthday...it seems surreal. My other family members seemed almost afraid that it happened on that day, like it means something. I haven't had any sign or feeling of her around me, like I did when my dad died. I think she is sad because one of her sisters treated me cruelly at the funeral. Can you imagine? ...being treated without compassion at your mom's funeral? It happened to me. I worry that my mom can't move on because of what happened. Maybe that sounds crazy, but maybe some of you might understand what i mean. I hope there is an afterlife and I hope my mom isn't sad or stuck in-between because of sad or angry feelings about it.

I'm so sorry to hear that. 😢 My father passed away in February last year and my family is still frozen in grief it seems. My physical and mental health have suffered quite severely. Mourning is a very personal thing and there is no specific time when you will suddenly 'snap out of it'and feel better. Gradually the feelings of loneliness and despair become less strong and are replaced by a sort of ache you carry around but sometimes forget about. Then as more time goes on you learn to live again, the times you feel the ache become less and less frequent. But if you feel like these is no end in sight to your pain or you just can't cope anymore please contact your doctor or let a loved one know. The service mentioned in the video, online counselling, might benefit you. The world might be very different at the moment but you can still receive support for your loss. Take care 💖🌼 xx

My grandfather that I was really close to died almost 4 years ago. Since his death my depression has worsened significantly and I still can't move on. In tbe first 2 years I'd cry myself to sleep thinking about him. I moved to the uk from a different country 6 years ago and I could only see him during holidays and summer. I still feel guilty because I feel like I didn't spend enough time with him. And before his death he was grieving too, not only from his wife's death but also from the fact I couldn't see him often. I miss him so much. Christmas isn't the same without him.

I think my grief is unresolved and complicated... Last year I lost a school friend to suicide, and I feel all of those symptoms listed. It’s been “a year” and I’ve heard from some that I should just get over it or “but it has been a year already”, but whenever I actually think (or let myself think about it) I get panicky, I cry, I shiver and I feel like re experiencing the whole news of the loss all over again. It also happens that it comes in waves and just hits me, and I cry randomly ... it’s as if the floor beneath me is just gone. I feel so guilty, I dont believe that I’m allowed to grieve, as I never truly grieved nor got closure because you’re excepted To “FUNCTION” all the time, and people want you to be alright.
@paulbennell3313
@paulbennell3313 3 года назад
A year really isn't much time at all. You don't "get over" something like this, you eventually learn to cope. The people telling you to get over it have obviously never lost anyone and they've got some shocks coming. There's no timetable for grief. You'll deal with it as and when you feel able to. Given the circumstances, this is normal.

But gender thing apart, if anyone feels uncomfortable in sharing then may be that person should talk to a therapist or could maintain a secret journal and write their experience on the times when they face these symptoms. I am not a therapist but these are a few things that i tried. Also, try breathing techniques of you get a panic attack. And, it's okay to not trust people sometimes, just trust yourself first.

A Portuguese poet once said: "Love is a beautiful flame that burns bright without being seen." I, more than anyone, can confirm how that sentence is truthful. I once lost the woman I love the most, but that beautiful, bright flame that bound us still lives on. I will never let that flame extinguish. I will do whatever it takes to make it stronger, to make it unexstinguishable. We are born with two, legs, two arms, two ears, two eyes but only one heart... because, we're supposed to find the other one.

11 years ago, I lost my dad to cancer. Every single year in November is a grim reminder that he's no longer with me. Some days I cry my eyes out because I miss him so much. I look at our pictures together and my heart aches and my tears just won't stop. Losing a parent is something that you will never truly get over, but over time, things do get easier. He passed away when I was 13, and I'm 24 now. Sometimes my mindset goes back to that vulnerable little girl that cries out for her father, begging him to come back. And sometimes I smile because he isn't down here suffering. Grief works differently for other people. Some people grieve for maybe a year or so, and some people grieve for the rest of their lives. It isn't easy. No matter who or what you've lost, always remember that everything will be okay. You're stronger than you realize and you WILL get through this. Just don't give up. ❤

Hi, Psych2Go and everyone who'd read this. It has been more than a decade since I lost my most cherished grandfather. I think I have moved on already. I don't experience the things you mentioned, but I still do find myself crying whenever I remember him and things I regret because he wasn't able to be there anymore. Like for example, when I graduated in college, I cried so hard because I thought "If only he is still with us, he'd be so happy to see me march and take my diploma.". I didn't expect that I'd be feeling great pain and cry so hard. Sometimes, I still find myself teary-eyed if not crying whenever I remember my frustrated hopes about being with my grandfather. Am I still grieving?

Since his death, I have been grieving my grandfather. A little over a year and I'm still crying. I spent ten or eleven months grieving in private though. My family didn't know that my grandfather's death impacted me. When I found out my grandpa died, I went into shock, even though I knew he wasn't going to make it. Somewhere around the middle of that night I faced denial and isolation, then I faked acceptance the next morning. In an endless cycle, I would go back and forth between denial and isolation and acceptance, or rather, indifference when I was with my family. For some reason, I felt like I needed to be strong for everyone. As if I wasn't allowed to cry until everyone else was done mourning. At school I was a crying mess. There were many days I spent crying- especially during the first week of my grandpa's death -until I started to fake acceptance/indifference at school too, not just in front of my family. It was hard, because I would spend most of my time thinking about my grandpa, and I would begin to tear up at times. After a a handful of months I moved onto bargaining and guilt, then anger, denial and isolation and guilt again, depression, self isolation, guilt, and anger again. Eventually, these stages of grief began to overlap each other and I faced them all at once. If someone mentioned my grandfather or anything that I had mentally connected him to, I would shut down by refusing to look at anyone, suddenly becoming mute, and act very distant. A surplus amount of online screenings suggested I was (am) suffering complicated/complex grief on a severe level, which I believe was true; life was so hard to resume and carry on with after my grandpa died. Now it's been three months since I've started what is supposed to be the final stage of grief: acceptance. Very slowly, but surely, I would think that I'm learning to live with my grandpa's death, and I think that although I opened to my mother about grief a couple of months prior to his death's anniversary, I really found solace on my grandpa's death anniversary. We, that being my family and I, all prayed the rosary for him. One petition I had (which my family also petitioned as they started to catch onto how I was feeling about losing my grandpa) was for me to feel comfort- on a spiritual level. During the prayer, I felt somewhat of a peace entering me, and a slight joy mixed with the feeling of contentment. The best way to describe it is to say that I was getting the spiritual comfort that I was asking for. Yes, I still think of my grandpa and cry for him, and I still have a hard time moving forward, but I'm sure I can say that I am feeling a lot better. Without me having to say it, I know that everyone understands that grief lasts a lifetime, but we can all adapt to it and grow with it. Despite not fully watching the video, I know I am still grieving, however that's fine. So yes, you are still grieving, but as I said, that's fine. Losing a loved one is hard and I can empathize with you because I too cry when thinking of my achievements and my future achievements that I can't share with my grandpa. He's never going to dance with me on my wedding night, nor will he get to dance with my sister at her quinceañera, and he won't get to see my siblings and I graduate school and move to adulthood. Sadly, he won't get to hold his first great grandchild, which is a depressing thought for me. Be Not Afraid by Bob Dufford and Don't Cry For Me by Libby L. Allen are a couple of songs that have helped me cope with grief, I hope they can help you too. God bless you, may you and your family find true peace in the Lord's presence.

It doesn't sound like it. It just sounds like you miss him. That isn't the same as grief. It is normal to do, ESPECIALLY when major life events happen. You either created expected memories of your grandfather sharing those events with you, and that makes you miss him, or you think he would enjoy that event with you and that makes you miss him. I cried during a church service 15 years after my grandparents died. The preacher told a story about a mission trip they took together. It hit me like a ton of bricks. I cried off and on for 2 days. I had 2 small boys and I couldn't look at them without thinking, "Nana and Granddaddy would ADORE you two!" It was nice, looking back on it. To feel love for the deceased simply means you miss them. That's ok to do. I imagine your grandfather is grateful that you loved him enough to miss him and cry that he is no longer here. As long as you still do that, it's like he isn't really gone. He won't. E gone until no one remembers him. THAT would not be good. You crying on special occasions? That is good. It might not feel good, but one day it will. That crying I did? It felt good-in a weird way. I'm sorry for your loss. Merry Christmas to you!

I'm still grieving a relationship that ended back at the start of June and Christmas is most definitely the most depressing time I've had this year. Especially since my birthday is on Christmas eve... All I ever did was sit and think about my ex partner the entire time and all I was feeling was my heart being squeezed, nauseous, shortness of breath, and burning eyes due to tearing up. It all just hurts so much to the point where I don't even wanna get out of my room 😔

When I lost my work dog, Chloe, I wanted to AVOID my work place like the plague. But thankfully, since the lockdown, I haven’t had the ability to go back to that place. I know it’s silly to grieve over a pet that isn’t mine, but she did feel like she was mine, at least at work, bc her owner really trusted me with Chloe, bc he knew how much she meant to me, and vice versa. Chloe was a golden retriever who retired recently and had died of chocolate poisoning. She was the best, most sweetest girl, and she died on Thanksgiving, and this Thanksgiving was very hard for me, but my parents thought I was “over it,” which I’m not still. Rip Chloe

I lost someone I loved so much in a romantic way and avoided the first 6 months to acknowledge that pain, the next second half of 2019 I was so depressed that I couldn't do anything. Postponed grief really blocks you from healing. Barely this year I started to reflect on my feelings about what happened and it has been a long run. I like to think I'm half way there (full acceptance). I told you this experience because it REALLY prolonged my sadness and I don't want that for you. If you want to cry DO IT, even if you've had it worse before, IT'S YOUR FEELING YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO FEEL.

To be very honest... I'm still grieving about someone who was like a real mother to me, I just woke up one day and have no more connection and/or communication to her. It felt like I was once again abandoned and cut out from someone's life, like I've lost a friend, a really special one. It hurts and still do, I suppressed how I feel after I knew about it but just this month I broke down crying and in pain (happens almost every night as I go to sleep) because some things, or even just some people or by and from what they say, I am always reminded about it. It is really difficult and painful, I have no one to talk to that would be open to comprehend on what I'm grieving about. This video helped me clarify some things, and yes I do have some experiences like you've mentioned in the video. Thank you for that 💖 I'm still hurting, but I know I'm gonna be okay. Not now but in time. Beyond grateful for you, @Psych2Go ✨ Merry Christmas!!!

I lost my friend of 14 yrs to Feline Wasting Disease (02/15/2018). I got her when I had a falling out with a Childhood Friend. It has been hard to gravatate to someone else since I lost her, just trying to take it one day at a time. She meant a lot more too me then my own Family. Some times I get dreams about her and sometimes I hear songs that remind me of her but it doesn't hurt as much as the first year did. I wanted to kill mysslf so often that I almost couldn't function over my lost. The only things that helps is talking to her in Spirit. Wrighting too her. Some times watching cat videos .It has help there is still rare occasions when I can't get her off of my mind. Not to sound Morbid but it's not weird to take the Urn of the decest animal and hold it. Pet it Or keep it in your Bedroom at night. The likely hood of getting another Cat is out of the question since I never grew up as a Cat Enthusiast. Just adopted her as a Stay Kitten from her mother when she came into our backyard back in 2005. I let her approach me at 4-5 wks of age.

I do wonder if at 53 this grief will end me .. last time I was 22 , it lasted 9 years . It destroyed me physically and mentally .. but it also changed my life , to a search for why .. 3 years now , the worlds a little less grey than it was 2 years ago .. but , diabetes has me now , developed shortly after my soul mate died .. I’ve tried to grow through with varied results .. photography , guitar , fresh food and exercise .. but I still sleep alone .. I still travel alone and I feel very much alone . The search for Y is done .. I understand the medicine wheel .. everything is as it should be , as it must be , but even as I write this I feel the tears just moments away . P.s. even now , I see more .. the fork in the road of Y .. the road less travelled .

Grief is one of the hardest things we will ever face in this life. Jesus loves you more than you could ever want to be loved. He understands exactly what you are going through and He can bring you such peace, comfort and joy to your heart like you've never known if you will surrender to Him. I am sharing my best friend's story with the world in hopes that it will be a help to so many who are struggling. God bless you. Precious Memories-By Sonya Lakey Family Story Little did our family of six know that Friday evening, September 24th, 2021, would be the last night our family would be complete. “...Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved…” (Acts 16:31b) “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13) “(...behold, now is the day of salvation.)” (2 Corinthians 6:2c) ****************************** This testimony has been made into a gospel tract. If you or your Church would be interested in passing them out or if you would like to send a word of encouragement to the family, please go to: facebook.com/GITM-Foundation-113997824650357/

I understand how you feel; life is hard when we lose someone we love, even if we see it coming or if we've already lost them. You will be able to find peace one day, trust me on that. Grief is a life long journey, but that's the beauty of it. One day you will be mourning your sister, but also celebrating the life of your sister and you will be thankful that you got to be a part of it. If you ever need someone to let out all your emotions to, you have tons of people who care about you, and you have strangers on the internet like me (though that could be dangerous, so I wouldn't suggest it). May you live a blessed life❤️

I'm probably still greiving for them.. My friend, i'm still not realizing he's not with us.. That i wont ever see him again.. I just can't seem to believe it. It's like nobody was in the coffin.. Like he was just hiding somewhere. Then my dog.. Let's just say i haven't slept early at night since the night she died.. I'm always having pain in my heart, like it's aching, eating itself, i feel it right now even though it is pretty weak this time. My mouth is drying itself like nothing can go down my throat anymore.. But my parents always said it was stress. And nothing important. Not like any of these is important apparently.

Been griefing for 2 months, over my my ex -boyfriend,& bestie, we tried to rekindle this year, but it's complicated cuz I still love ❤ him, even though we have our time apart for now, I miss him dearly, found somewhat peace to keep myself happy,, and to top that off my bestie &gal decided to take a break, I have been hurt soo much, that she tried to help, to a point where I am letting myself go, and now she wants to split apart cuz of me,, in which is unusual cuz we always tried to be there for each other, and now I am afraid to get close to any friend now, scared. It seems the ones I care about pushes me away when I need them the most! It's complicated! Finding help hasn't always been easy, I am at a point where Outside of home I am more happy with hanging, but going back home I am depressed! & lonely,! I try my hobbies, but sometimes have loss of interest in things!

Be a man and cover your pain, even if ppl can plainly see ur hurting, continue to fake a smile. When u cry, cry into a pillow to muffle the sound, with ur back turned at those around u, late at night. When asked if you're OK, just say yes and fake a smile. Laugh even. When someone notices your puffy eyes, make an excuse to hide the fact you cried your heart out... even if that excuse doesn't make sense. Rub your eyes with soap if u have to. When u indulge in whatever relieves ur pain, do it with joy because absolutely nobody knows ur pain like u do.

Every since my young brother passed I have been getting sick more often, not to mention I have range of body discomfort that had my overthinking brain convince it's cancer or that I will die of a stroke like he did. 3 months have passed and I can't seem to pull it together as I did before. I certainly feel as if this grief over my only bro is going to have me drown in it. Depression is already worse. Anxiety (especially health anxiety) is through the roof. I hope it will get better in time. Universe grant strength and health to all of us hurting from the loss of our parent, siblings , spouses, friends. 😔

I became fast friends with someone over the last 16 mouths but back in October he did something to me that made me lose all trust in him. I also realized that he has many toxic qualities too. I’m limiting my association with him and his close friends. but it’s hard because we used to have a big Discord server that most of my friends and his were on. so they all got to know each other and many of my friends don’t understand why I was so hurt by him and some think it’s wrong for me to treat him like this they tell me I have to forgive him. It’s not about forgiveness though and I’ve told them that but they don’t seem to get it. That’s what I’m Grieving is the loss of a number of friends all because of one. His best friend was also getting to be good friends with me before October but now we barely hang out after everything, one because we have different viewpoints on the situation, and two because to spend time with him I would have to also be around the one I’m trying to distance myself from. This video helped me see I’m still troubled by it all so I’m typing all this as a way to let it all out. This comment was typed quickly so the punctuation is probably not great but that’s fine

You know,Psych2go is too popular. That's why it has got a lot of top comments. Therefore, those who has actual problems and writes it in the commentbox,it never pops up in the ocean of top comments. That's a sad fact of course, they doesn't get any solutions or someone to be for them...😟

My mum passed away two years ago, I am still grieving and having some of these symptoms :( She was my whole world and my best friend. The strange thing is that I didn't get these symptoms when it happened, only now, two years later. I must have been in shock all that time.
