I love how you've gone the extra mile on this design; it's cool that the LED's are animated, or that the buttons when pressed actually light something up or sound a tone, just as we remember seeing on the show back in the day. And the fact that you've made the dash functional wherever possible is awesome. - The standard of build is probably higher than what was achieved for the actual filming vehicles.
This dash looks awesome, much nicer and higher quality than the actual dash used in the show. When you get a chance to see the actual dash from the show, you can see terrible quality plastic, grooves, cutouts, etc. One specific example is the section of dash between the sequence lights (Power, Fuel On, RPM, Ignitors) and the voice box - in the real KITT, it had an awful uneven surface.
This is really COOL! Amazing work! I am truly blown away! I would buy a firebird just to put this dash in it ( I like firebirds anyway but this would be way cool to have in it). I want one of these for my GMC Truck.
That episode was call The Nineteenth Hole Awesome work that was my favorite dash season 3 and season 4 was my favorite dash and buttons. How much do you charge just for the dash?
Knight rider AKA KITT is the most iconic car in it's design... replica's all over the world from fan owners.. I wish I owned a knight rider AKA KITT myself..
Even though i really prefer s1/2 dashes, this Looks really good! I always Loved the compass board on the show, especially the way ist moved when changing the direction just a little bit. I looks like your gauges Show either full or zero. But full should only be working when you go straight in one direction. Or like 90/10; 80/20 or like exactly S/E it should show 50/50. Is this just because its not mounted and all connected to a car?
The ONLY thing I can see wrong with this particular dash is that all 3 of the zeroes are lit up, it should only be 2 lit until the dash counts up to light the 3rd digit, just my observation
Looks great man. Nice work. Is there any reason why many people still choose the season 1-2 dash over the 3-4? Other than having 2 screens, I don't see why. Thanks in advance
Amazing, I have my KITT but I broke my speaker grills. I like the ones with the knight logo but my concern is i they would fit on my dash. Can you tell me what dimensions are yours and how much? The originals speaker grills didn't fit very well on my dash and that's why they broke.
I have 2 potentially stupid questions 1. can the power button be rigged for push button start of the car? 2 instead of random numbers in the search can it just show cars total mileage?
I think it's custom moulded specifically for the Pontiac Trans Am / Firebird. I imagine that a conversion could be made theoretically for any car - but I'd be willing to bet it would be very expensive.
I liked the video, but I would like to point out some things. First: didn't KITT's dash have TWO TV screens? I don't remember the name of the episode, but a young girl was sitting in the car and commented that the screens looked like eyes and KITT was only two happy to make the TV screens act like eyes. Second: in season 4, they added something. RC and his friends installed that Bonnie thought of. They added super pursuit mode and emergency braking. Where is that panel? And third: in season 4 there was a small button with a "C" on it. This was to drive the car in convertible mode. Where is that button? It would be really cool if you could make the voice modulator work. What the voice of th Knight INdustries mcroprocer would say would have to be pre-recorded. To answer my three questions, you can e-mail me at jedimaster_peter@hotmail.com.
1. The Knight 2000 had 2 screens in Season 1 and 2. Seasons 3 and 4 reduced to 1 TV. 2. There would really be no point in having the panel for SPM/EBS because the car cant transform. I'm sure Don could add them for those who really wanted it but thats up to him. 3. Same thing with the C button because the car cant transform. The actual convertible car in the show was a permanent convertible that was swapped out. I'm sure, like some people do, the voice modulator could be hooked up to the radio or hooked up to some kind of computer that could give a set of responses. Some people have done that on their replicas.
Hi what's your name cause you sound a little bit like William Daniels and you could of been the voice of kitt from Knight Rider to if they let you! LoL from Tracey Ransom 45 yrs old from millville nj!🙂
I disagree. Suppose this guy puts weeks of parts and labor into a one off dash and your so called customer skips out on payments. What then? You cant get your money back on those parts and hours of labor. I disagree. A car dealer only deals in finished and completed vehicles so they can always repo the vehicle and resell it or auction it off. This is some dude working hard producing works of art. Forget offering a payment plan. Pay the man upfront or stop wasting his time.
the odometer is the 4 digit display at the top. push a button and it reads out the first 4 digits of your odometer, then it will automatically read out the last 4 which includes your 10'ths mile.
@@AdvancedDesigns one more question ....Is the monitor analog or digital system ? In my country is NTSC system and the digital tv system is like Japan ISDB-Tb......Thanks
