Yeah, that's because the movie objectified her to turn her main purpose into "love interest" instead of "character." Meanwhile, Rob Rokicki fought for this song to stay in the musical because he really liked that Annabeth WASN'T just a simple love interest soley there for Percy to date. He cared about her as an actual character, rather than basically an object for the hero to obtain.
OH MY GOODNESS how did I miss this I literally feel so uncultured rn it’s not even funny, I know every Hamilton lyric like the back of my hand and I can’t make this connection-
So this happens at Aunty Em’s, after they behead Medusa. The song is Annabeth explaining why she needed this quest, and it’s also her training Percy with sword fighting
"When boys screw up, they always get another chance." As opposed to? Is there some Virginia state law or something that a female student may not be admitted back into any school after being expelled?
OptimusPhillip I think it’s referencing how when boys grow up and mess up the excuse of 'boys will be boys' is used to excuse it. But when girls mess up they’re seen as 'more mature' and don’t get second chances.
When they grow up they're alot less likely to be judged by past action because "they were just boys" but a woman can easily be shamed or held back since there's no "girls will be girls". it's "boys will be boys" so it's okay if they mess up
Ok i know who did is she is a racist and she was the person that helped people on the field trip this was the exact same musical and I was there sitting right beside her as the people from the musical people or whatever they're called said do not record but let me tell you something else she did it anyway so that's why everyone at our school doesn't like.
Im roughly translating this to i dont like the person who recorded this because they are racist and recorded this even though they were told not to. (This may not be perfect)
