1. For JEE Adv, leveling up step by step is especially very important. Foundations are very important, so build your basic concepts well, which makes you confident. You may accidentally be able to solve JEE Adv but would perform poorly in JEE Mains or other state level exams if your foundation is weak. 2. This is the last chance, so JEE Main is extremely important so that you can end up in a good college if Adv goes bad. Ensure you start with a backup plan. Ensure that the board level is something which you are absolutely confident at. 3. Some students have the tendency to stick with the topics they are good at for a subsequent amount of time, solving more and more complex problems from various different sources. Make sure you're not doing that mistake. Your mastery should be spread across all the chapters. Practice the topics you are strong at but don't spend all of your time in it. Coaching. First, understand the topics you are weak in. And after doing that, don't waste your time at the coaching institute re-learning the concepts you are already comfortable with. 4. The only thing which is a plus point about coaching institute are their mock tests. Give mocks regularly. Motivation shoulld come from the inside. It comes from the hard work we do.
@@Prof_JC I am fresher, which is I take. BS Geology in IIT KGP or ECE in NIT Warangal, IT in IIIT ALLAHABAD,inst and electronic engineering in Jadavpur University
@@Ravi-lg8od I'd always say go with your interest. Follow prof JC advice. He said that try and explore career, job and research aspects in that specific field for example, Geology is all about studying landmasses and stuff. Don't underestimate it because drone companies need geologists because they're scanning the ground and try finding what's in it instead of mining. Geology can be used even to study other planets and moons and basically all celestial bodies. Geophysics and geochemistry is used the most
I have also been a dropper ,and everything you have said resonates with me,and glad that more or less I ended up following whatever you have told us to do.Finally I am joining IIT B aero now
Instead of finding motivation, go and study the difficult concepts- motivation will come automatically when you love solving the problems. Rightly said by you sir- Ye motivation shotivation mithya hai 😂. It should come from within.
You are amazing. I teach law at one of India's premier law schools and my son reads tech at one of the IITs (admitted in 2021). You have no competition. More power to you and looking forward to many more inspirational videos.
Last portion of the lecture applies to all aspects of career and in life too. If you want something go get it yourself should be the mantra. Unless ownership of ones choices and decisions are taken, externals will be a source of motivation and also a dumping ground for blames. Thanks a lot Sir! very few genuinely point towards these aspects.
If you have discipline, you don't need motivation.Thank you Professor!! I cracked Jee and got NIT Agartala in counselling (EC).But i will work hard another year, and would definitely like to land in IIT Kharagpur to meet you.
Thank you sir for this talk. I am currently taking drop year and I found your talk to be inspiring.. It resonates with me as I too was stuck in the problems mentioned in the video.. I will make sure that I will improve every aspect of my training. Thank you sir for this talk and I hope to meet you in IIT KGP in 2024
I am watching this from Denmark. I am from Pakistan and I find I find more motivation from your words than from the schools I went to in Europe. We are all Asian and our sub continent culture has wired our minds the same way
Thank you very much for making me realise the points. I am left with 5 months for my mains 1st attempt and I lack in a lot of concepts but I am going to level up myself and will reach my dream iit (*IIT Kharagpur*) hopefully. All the best to every Aspirant out there fighting for their goals. By, Dhruv.
Every now and then sir, I come at some times where I need some guidance, and always search up this video of yours and listen to your words at 14:02 . Thank you sir. I know the point of your video was exactly the opposite about not going to RU-vid for motivation, but I come here to be reminded of it
I was also a dropper ,I completely agree to ur points ,even I made many mistakes in drop year which I realised later.I'm joining IITB MEMS I'll give my best in it😊
Thank You so much..Whatever you have told us I'll FOLLOW it .NEXT year (confidently) I'll join IIT KHARAGPUR, I'll MEET YOU. thank you again. scolding part was truly good
I'm a dropper and my condition is more worse than you've said in the video, currently jan attempt is on my my and unfortunately I am abot to give boards improvement exam in feb or March. And will give mhtcet this time I just want any decent college in this last chance and I'm studying so.
There is nothing that we don't know just follow most basic rule of study be disciplined complete syllabus before time give mock then chill for few months in IIT
The last part "Scolding" is great, very true sir i really like that part. Thank you prof JC bring this discussion. A small request from my side is please bring more content for Mtech/PhD students related to Research & Academic performance etc. Thank you.
Hello sir thanks for all the advice , i have taken a drop , i hope i edit this comment or reply to this comment by advance result , my aim is cse/mnc/ece branches at top iits
Proffesor, I really respect your views and opinions and am a regular follower of your channel. I'd be ecstatic if you'd answer a question i have- I'm interested in research and getting into the academic field. I messed up really badly in JEE adv due to anxiety and I'm not getting any decent branch or college through it. I've qualified for IISER Pune through IISERAT exam. Now I'm confused whether to take a drop for JEE next year or get into IISER this year. It's unlikely that you'd be able read my comment. But I'd be over the moon if you could provide me some guidance.
Sir please enlighten something on IISERs, IISc etc and the research culture in BS-MS Physics of IITs. I want comparison between these in terms of BS research.
Sir to appear in jee advance 75 criteria will be applicable or it is required in jossa counselling only as i am a dropper and i have 73% in boards i will give improvement and i am really confused and stressed about thinking will i be able to appear in jee advance or my whole hard work and preparation will be wasted
Your last part was very interesting. You are so right in saying that one needs to look within themselves for every emotion, be it motivation, peace, strength etc. However, on a lighter note, I keep making a joke that all of us are Hanumans. I generally narrate an incident from Ramayana. Hanuman had the curse that he cannot invoke his strength unless reminded by others and that is where Jambhvan came in. On a serious note, I felt this video had a connection to the previous one. Once you accept reality of the current situation, you will be in a far better position to deal with the situation and the shortcomings.
Writing this comment today 20July 2023 Will come back after my results next year! I will never watch a single video on RU-vid untill my jee exam . I will give my best sir
Thank you so much sir whatever you said in this video was very helpful and you gave me a clarity now. Sir I have one doubt please can you please solve it ?? My doubt is sometimes I don't understand a topic in my coaching so I watch that particular topic online cause I understand it much better from some other teachers teaching online . Also sometimes I watch online solutions too .My offline institute teachers always say that "online is a waste of time you shouldn't do anything online. Always blindly follow what we are asking you to do and telling you to do" .but sir I am totally opposite of this I am inclined more towards online studies cause I am a covid batch student and I have covered mostly of my syllabus from online teachers and that's why I feel more connected and comfortable at studying online but our teachers always scold us telling ki beta online jaa rahe ho na to barbbad ho ..Sir am I doing anything wrong in all this ? Then sir please guide me
No u are not wrong even in my drop year teacher told me the same , to koi topic nhi smjh ata tha to ghato tak bheti rehti thi dc mai or kabhi kabhi waha bhi nhi ata tha smjh baad mai realize hua ki online delh lena chahia tha jin teacher se aata tha so the way u are studying is right bas coaching ke test shi se dena agr vo shi se nhi dia tab barbaad hoge Bcoz mere saath hua that's why giving my experience nd telling u don't did the mistake that i did😢😊
Sir I have seen multiple videos of iit students saying in IIT we don't study , just study a night before , ask someone about topics and then mug up , how much is the reality as multiple students who were top rankers are saying same things
Don't trust them, had it been an easy sailing inside IIT's then they would not have taken just a tough entrance tests, those students say all those just to gain more views.
Thank you so much for all the advices, sir. I wanted to ask something. If we have one weak subject which we don't understand at all, how should we work on it in drop year? For me, that subject is mathematics. I would be highly obliged if you answer this question.
Namaste sir, I qualified jee adv this year, less chances of getting an iit though. I am being offered computer science and design engineering at RGIPT and Mechanical engineering at IIPE. Please help me to make a choice between these two. Looking forward to your valuable guidance as soon as possible 🙏 Thank you
Respected sir,can a person doing integrated masters from non iit join iit after getting valid gate score in same branch with different specialization. Thanks
Sir, for +2 do you suggest studying in an institution like fiitjee run by IIT ians or study in a regular college and then take 1 year long term coaching?
Sir, I am Souryadeep Banerjee. I am preparing for JEE 2024. I am from West Bengal, I passed class 12 in 2023 with 71 percent and I scored 98 percentile in Jee Mains 2023.And I couldn't not clear JEE Adv 2023. So, sir I took admission in NIOS to do 75 percent next year. But the problem is, NIOS result was declared on 24 june 2023 and original marksheet will be given on August mid. So, what should I do? Sir, please help
Sir.....this year i got .....i got 96 percentile in jee mains ....i was getting IIEST shibpur....nit durgapur..... I will probably take admission in Jadavpur University ( civil) .... And prepare for jee next year.....my aim is IIT KGP....i will certainly meet you once i reach there....this video helped me lot to clarify my thoughts ( In advanced i got 21k rank....and all i could get was IIT kgo architecture) Edit: Now I am going to IIT BHU chemical engineering ❤🎉🎉
@@YuvrajPathania-fi3ho Bhai ye sb questions mt puch bas jitna time mila hai hai usko ache se utilise kr ... consistency ke saath ,, trust me you will not regret.👍🏻
Sir, please tell us what to study for GATE in first year. Also, sir, please tell us how to go abroad for higher studies, and what exams are needed for it.
@@Mayank_11111 Assuming that you are a JEE student, then write a mock test every alternate Sunday, even if syllabus is not complete. Mock tests are not about marks, the main purpose mock tests is to get acclimatised with the exam environment, to gain some momentum, never judge yourself on the basis of mock test marks. Like, to give my own example, in the last test that I wrote before JEE Mains, I scored 28, but in the actual exam, I scored 120. So, never hesitate to attempt mock tests.
Sir I am 1 st year dropper.... Still not get into NIT So can I take second drop for NIT??? any placement effect??? Please reply If I have two years academic gap after class 12 ...any placement issue??
Sir I wanted to ask you one thing, please reply to me if you are reading this I'm having a great interest in music, and the technical side of music too, (Sound engineering), currently I'm preparing for JEE 2024 and I want to pursue music as a music artist but as it is not a safe and secure career as it is based on luck I want to do engineering, basically sound engineering, I checked and got to know that only IIT KGP provides a course of Masters in Sound engineering but I'm very confused about what should I do in Bachelors, should I target Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering as i guess they both help in the field of acoustics. If you are reading this then please guide me
Probably Electrical Engineering would be more in line with what you desire. However, note that you will have to have more than a decent rank in JEE Advanced to get Electrical at IIT KGP.
@@Prof_JC Thanks sir for answering my doubt........I have cleared mains but couldn't qualified for advance so I thought that I have missed the iitian tag😞. But now , I would clear gate and will pursue my mtech course from top iits😃.
Professor, I have a query which is rather not related to the content of the video. I had the option between 3rd Gen IITs CSE, Old IITs Metallurgy or other 5 year courses(including KGP Mech 5 yrs) and Jadavpur CSE. Right now, in the JoSAA side of things, I have freezed IIT Jammu CSE and WBJEE counselling is scheduled to commence soon. For Jadavpur University, I would have the option of travelling from home. Any advice, regarding the decision, from your end will be very helpful.
Don't compare between branches. Find what you want to do. Dive deep and see what will be the course about and all jobs/professions in the field. Comparing between branches is like comparing oil and water. Completely different. Don't judge by social standards. It's stupid
Dear sir, I have been in a dilemma for a month. As a sincere JEE aspirant(dropper), I'm aiming below 500 AIR in adv 2024. [JEE Mains 2023: 95.25%ile (no coaching) and JEE Advanced 2023: CRL 15808 (107/360). I had got IIT KGP Agriculture and Food Engineering in Josaa 2023 but, I'm aiming for top branches, so exited from councelling]. But, the problem is that, I'm getting Karnataka's top GOVT. college (UVCE, Bengaluru) through KCET. My parents and others suggest me to take a full drop join coaching for JEE, or join college and forget JEE. Thing is that I don't have idea about how the offline coachings are, and sir I'm well disciplined, quite good to manage self study. I don't know how it goes if I join any offline coaching. So, there are 3 options for me: 1) Join UVCE CSE (4-5h classes a day), but, take partial drop and prepare JEE (8-10h a day). And skip some classes in college. 2)Take full drop (at home), prepare for JEE (16h/day). 3) Join offline coaching for JEE (I actually don't prefer this to myself, but everyone does. Even I don't reject coaching completely at all, I am searching for them but, I found no one (dropper) who can tell me about coachings). It's getting hard to make a decision in this scenario. Please suggest me the best sir. Hoping for your valuable words.
Bro, if u really have that desire to be called as an IITian, then take a full drop and prepare for it. In my suggestion, don't opt for a coaching, considering your situation. Prepare from advanced level books, like cengage and just give as many mocks as you can, untill you reach the level of the satisfying marks you are aiming for. This partial drop is just a showoff or a waste of time. I also got into jadavpur but was getting chemical engg., but I didn't clear JEE ADV'22. I took a full drop and in ADV'23 I got IIT DELHI , Mathematics and computing department.
@@phoenix5100 did you join any coaching? And how was it there? Was it almost similar to the way sir said in this video? Even I don't reject coaching completely at all, I am searching for them but, I found no one (dropper) who can tell me about coachings.
Hello Sir, Good Evening.. Sir, please provide me a path, Sir I didn't give JEE coz I saw myself that I've not done academics well myself, and planned to drop but somehow sir I did give CUET, through which I will be getting Central Universities like Delhi University, BHU...So Sir, We are being provided BVoc in Software Development and BA in Computer Applications+ Maths/English in Delhi University... Sir Should I go for it? Sir I'm am doing BS Data Science and Application Program online of IIT Madras as well parallely, just the classes are starting .... or Sir, Should I go for Tier 3 Engineering College, a Decent one in Roorkee.. having online courses, IIT MADRAS program itself... Sir, What will be better🙏 a BVoc for 3 years in Software development or BA in Computer applications from The Delhi University, or a Proper B tech in CS from private Institute.. Degrees will matter a bit, but sir I know I will make it.. What's your Suggestion Sir, your comment will be so beneficial for me sir...
Sir am 2022 passout student i didn't attempt any advanced exam can i write this here . Iit is one of my biggest dream sir actually no one was there to guide me 😢 Please reply 🙏
sir iam currently a dropper studying online from physics wallah my chemistry is strong but previous year my in my first attempt i did not studied anything any chapter in maths and my physics is also week so iam giving 4 to 5 hours a day to maths including one lecture of 2 hours of maths and 6 to 7 hours to physics and 3 hours to chem am i going in the right direction iam also giving weekly test held in batch and scoring 150 to 160 marks please sir guide me my dream is to pursue btech or bsc in physics from iit kharagpur please sir i scored 88.09 percentile in jee mains a general candidate i will do any thing this year for my selection 😢😢please guide me sir
Well Said Sir. Self realisation and motivation should come from inside. Only then it will stay forever. Watching external motivational videos, may give an instant burst of dopamine, but it flies away in the same speed, as it comes. I think, people must be process oriented rather then being result oriented, because if the process is steady and consistent, results are bound to follow. I think, this is applicable in all walks of life and above all one steady step at a time, moves us closer to the goal. I would say it as a piece of advice and not a scolding. Nice video Professor
