Thank you for this video. So many worship groups just play the same chords with multiple guitars. I am subscribing! When a worshiper in my case parishioner tells me after Mass that they felt engaged and that the music complimented the Mass so well, I feel then that we succeeded. Musicians who play in worship are a gifted bunch who are called to the service of the Lord. Yes, some are not so humble and frankly they do not belong there. Rather have a musician who is humble and an ok player than one who is a great player but does not how to respect the role they are in.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I was working on chord inversions this weekend at band practice. I’m pretty old school AC/DC, Led Zeppelin and Van Halen and it’s pretty easy to be set in my ways. Thank you for showing me a different approach to use. Thank you. Eric

Great video. Octave shapes with gain add alot of power. The pentatonic shape arpeggios give alot of options while staying in one position.

I would look up the CAGED system to get a better idea of this concept. Basically take the D# minor pentatonic scale and all your chords would fall into positions within or close to that box. 1 chord (F#) would be the A position, 4 chord (B) would be a c position and so on. The idea is to play chords that are close together using different shapes than root position chords. Let me know if that helps!

I would advise you to do it the other way around. Look up something called “chord inversions” and based on where the chord is on the neck you can actually figure out what position of the scale to use. That way you aren’t shredding non-sense and you can relate whats going on in the harmony with your lead lines

There are a few components to how to play worship guitar. One plan I discovered which successfully combines these is the Worship Fixer Formula (check it out on google) definately the most incredible blueprint that I have ever seen. Check out the extraordinary information .

Fred Fred From what I saw it was a True Tone VS-XO dual overdrive, Strymon El Capistan , Memory Man, Julia Analog Chorus, Shepard’s End Flanger, a Tuner and a Strymon Flint. I couldn’t see the last one at the end.

The actual tips are helpful honestly.. But the pitch modulation on delay is bothering me.. it sounds a little off but no one's gonna notice that anyway when all the instruments comes together.. and it's been 3 years since this video is out so i hope he can play guitar on time in sync with other instruments..
