Not an older guy. I don't really have any classic cars at the moment. Keeping up with the facebook groups, all the heavy hitter's videos, etc. But this is so nice. Wax. A joy of detailing. I get so tired of all the coating stuff that's taken over. Very cool.
Regarding the 24 hour/day before theory is imho the wax has that amount of time to really set up and enrich the paint and finish. I always find the next day is when the paint really pops. Carnuba is not dead. Great vid thx!
I also am a huge fan of waxes and have my own collection of Mitchell and King waxes manufactured by hand here in Scotland. I have been told that at least three cars involved in the celebration of cars culminating at Pebble Beach have Mitchell & King waxes applied to them. I am in good company then having our 3 car family all prepared with their own M & K waxes. Why would anyone Ceramic coat a car and take away the pleasure of waxing for up to 5 years. Another easy watch and very informative also. Thanks
3 years @Almeida's classic cars...3 years @Tyree classic car restorations color sanding/polishing cars for the Blackhawk museum in Dublin calif....I am still active @62..still learning...I did a black version of this car a few years ago for a long time customer and a "best of show" at the concourse event....
I have knee and leg issues and my wife asked me why I wax and polish my car so much if it hurts to walk. I showed her your part where you say men like to wax their car because they enjoy waxing and there’s a certain therapeutic aspect to it. That’s exactly what I’ve been telling her, verbatim. Btw, what a beautiful stable FFF has there. Props to you for them letting you wax their car. You really answered a lot of questions about waxing. Thanks for the Excellent video!
3:48 Yup, that is what I did, I got a "Meguiar's Cleaner Wax" and I thought it also "cleans" my contaminated paint, big mistake, it took all the abrasive impurities and made scratches on the paint. I will try cleaning it with clay first. 5:00 OK, can't do that eider ?! 😅
Hello Todd how are you?? Excellent videos as always!! Questions please .How about the brands that sells their own pre wax cleaner? They say after prewax cleanser used remove with microfiber an immediately apply directly the wax, isn’t this prewax cleaner already covering the pores of the paint an making the wax maybe not to bond correctly to the paint? Because as my understanding mostly all prewax cleaners help to remove contaminants old waxes and other have abrasives others don’t and then they tell you to apply the wax immediately 🧐What are you thoughts about this? Or maybe after the pre wax use an ipa solution and then apply the wax?? Thanks in advance for your reply. Have a good day.
As long as the surface is prepped, I don't see it as a necessity. When companies were really pushing this, we didn't have common decon products like Gyeon Iron or Prep so a pre-wax cleaner was the only real process available. Thank you!
Should I stick away from the wash and wax all in one mix solutions and instead make sure I have my car completely drie before applying wax and seperate the processes?
Hi, I have a brand new 2023 Toyota RAV4 hybrid in your estimation. Could you please tell me what is one of the better waxes to use that is not too costly I am on a budget but I would really like to know please respond back thank you.
Try Zaino and skip the natural waxes . Grab a glossometer and see if I'm right that nothing outshines Zaino products . For top show car results , try a coat of Z-2 , a coat of Z-6, another coat of Z-2 and right before a car show a coat of Grand Finale .
Hello, can i ask a question? I want to put sealant on my car before winter for protection about 6 months(fusso coat) and after winter i want to put carnauba wax to my car for less protection but better gloss. And me question is, if i have after winter still some sealant on paint, can i just wash car, decon and put carnauba wax on it? Sorry for english, i am from Slovakia.
My ideology is wax is for show cars, and durable protection is for daily drivers. You don’t need the crazy self cleaning or durability for a garage queen. But you sure need a real coating for a daily driver outside in the elements 24/7
Great video. Straight forward. I recently purchased some Polish Angel Master Sealant and Rapid Waxx from Esoteric. Waiting for that perfect day, weather wise, to get out there. Thanks again!
Exactly how do you..."get with the manufacturer" other than instructions on the wax container? Those guys are not going to respond to Joe the customer. $500 for a can of wax. Obviously, this is a video for the rich and famous and your products are way out of my league. I'm outta here.
