In fairness there is rarely consistency; you'll probably find a mix of PH and PZ (various sizes) in an install and unless you've had exposure to the different types then you may not understand the finer difference between PH and PZ because at first glance + looks like * and its not until you look closer you make out the extra features in a PZ screw
Personally i would start off on the right foot ( i do know your trying to ve cost effective ) a good pliers maybe the maybe even knipex installation pliers makes cutting and stripping easier and branded screwdriver. Tape agree 100% But good tools saves the hands and makes the work enjoyable. Get them used even online ebay etc...
Great video Gaz. As a meter fitter the tool i use the most is cable croppers. The tool most electricians don't seem to use is bent nose pliers. These are great, I've used them to great effect working on cars. I absolutely agree with you on a good pozi 2 screwdriver. I'd like to add that a long thin bladed (good quality), flat head screwdriver is a must. Some old cut outs and Cosumer units use old flat head screws that have been cammed out lots of times. I found myself getting tendinitis in my arms so long screwdrivers work best for me as less effort. I also use a blue Bosch electric screwdriver but dont tell anyone 😂
@@GSHElectricalit was many years ago when I was an apprentice and was fortunate enough to have an employer. So invested each week in a tool. Ah those were the days.
My list for some of the apprentices I have been saddled with 1 Big stick to poke them with when their attention span wonders off 2 Tazer every time they dont do what you have spent 2 hours instructing them on a simple job 3 Mobile signal blocking devices obviously to try and stop them contacting their mates every 2 minutes 4 Biggest and loudest alarm clock so they might even make it to the van on time when you pick them up. Of course all these ideas are in my head but one day.
My video was a reaction to a friend that I am helping with his training and he was told by his college not to bring his tools to college. The reason they told him that was because they couldn’t guarantee his branded tools would go missing. However the tools at colleges are generally not great hence the video 👍🏻. Thanks for your great comment Gaz
i don't know who has come up with the G brand on your tape but it looks a lot like the google G branding used when you open a window from the quick start function from your browser, worth taking a look for copyright infringement. good luck.🍌
