Gray hair is more porous than pigmented hair. That means it is easy for moisture to enter and also to leave our hair. Prepooing is a great treatment to do before shampooing or deep cleansing gray natural hair. I will show 4 different ways I have pre poo'd my gray natural hair. Do you pre poo? I stopped using shampoos and my beautiful gray hair loves me for it! I cleanse with conditioner only. Bye Bye shampoo and dried out hair. It really works. My hair is natural and in Locs. Happy to connect with your channel 🐢🌿

@@NaturallyGraysful Hi! I don't prepoo, but I use a prepoo as a deep conditioner (it's an unscented product that can be used in various ways). My hairstyle is similar to yours, and slowly whitening to look like yours, I think. I'm super excited! Cheers from Croatia!

I just found you, I’m a new sub. I love Naptural85 & her products. I pre-poo with Lily of the Desert Aloe Vera Gelly & Melanin’s Pure Oil Blend. I’m pretty lazy when it comes to detangling & usually do it after washing (my hair’s in 6 braids) and while I’m conditioning it. I use Felicia Leatherwood’s Brush With The Best Detangling Brush. If you don't already have one, please run & get one.

Hello Nina, I use a diy I make from Aloe Vera Leaf (the jelly part) and Almond Oil to pre-poo with my fingers. The CCCA has made sessions of my hair thin so I rarely use a comb.

Your voice is so soothing. I am Norwegian with a much different hair texture than you, but I have also used the Shea moisture and coconut oil. Now that I have four inches of grow out, I can tell you that you are 100% correct about gray hair being dry. One particular area near the back crown of my head is so tangled and unmanageable. I am also using my fingers to de tangle because my my hair was fried with bleach and it’s breaking off. I may be saving money and time not going to the salon for hair dye every 4-6 weeks but the amount of time and money I’ve spent on moisturizing my hair is no joke! I’m going to try am olive oil treatment next!

I think we are twin spirits as far as hair and texture goes. Definitely will do this when m.j y hair gets longer! I can't stretch it that much. Still in twa form. I am working on getting the health of my hair back!

Beefocused Lee I’ve used coconut oil so often that when I open the jar the smell i used to like makes me a little queasy now. It’s like my brain is associating it with too much work

I pre-pool with aloe vera and peppermint oil my question to you is what do you do to avoid your hair turning that brassy color.my hair in the back it's a totally different grade of hair very loose versus the top and the sides or have more gray

Very nice presentation with a lot of helpful information. I finger detangle with grapeseed oil, Giovanni direct leave in or Treenaturals honey, fruits and flowers hair milk. I rarely use a wide tooth comb, brush or pick. But I have them just in case. Peace and blessings

For each prepoo, please give natural items again, how much to of each item, to measure in bottle to saturate the section of hair. Thank you... By the way the best shampoo besides shimmering lights to make coarse gray soft.

Clarifying shampoo removes build up...opens up the hair shaft/cuticles ...to saturate the follicles with moisture and steam not heat... Haven't spoken trichology in years 😁 (I feel like I'm back in cosmetology school instructor)

Do you pre poo every time before you shampoo or when you use conditioner as a co wash?? Because I don’t shampoo every day so when I shower I co wash or do a couple of different conditioners when I don’t shampoo.. just was wondering

Hi Heather thank you for your question and patience with my reply. I do prepoo each time I shampoo. If you cowash I would think you wouldn't need to add on the step of prepooing. It also depends on your hair if it is fine it may feel weighed down with the prepoo but coarser textures can use all the moisture we can get. Hope that helps and thanks so much for watching🦋
