I was just researching how to go about sizing since I’ve started painting tips a couple of days ago. This video convinced me to just paint, paint, paint away 💅🏽 and create sets with 20-22 nails. I’m hoping to launch my business in about a month.🤞🏽Thank you for your perpetual advice! 😊
My website is finally up! Thank you for your videos, they really helped with getting this small business up and running. Here is the link: www.vistosanails.com 💜
You are very kind by offering us this free information, I want to start a small press on nails business and before watching your videos it always caused me a lot of confusion about what I should do about sizes.
Good video. I bought some really cheap press on tips and I already needed to replace two LOL so I really like that idea of adding extras, after experiencing breaking or losing some. Of course the ones that I have are cheap but this is a really good thorough video too. I really want to get back into nail art after like 20 years. Thank you
I loved it 😍 it finally solved my problem for sizing the nail tips Thank you so much I am soon going to launch my press ons I hope I make it big Lots of love ❤😘
I understand why people want to stick to only 10 nails but I definitely think the best way is to create multiple tips. Measuring seems like such a hassle. Sizing kits also seem like a waste of materials.
I have large nail beds and I only wear short and medium nails (never long). I find that the square shape ( store press ons) works best for me followed by almond shape. Stiletto shaped nail (short) are hard for me to size and the sizes are different from the square and almond sizes. My thumb is a #1 in square and almond and a #0 in stiletto and some stiletto nails have to be filed to fit. I don't like or wear oval and round shaped nails and the ballerina and coffin nails are too long for my liking. BTY, you do awesome work.
Thank you so much for this!! I actually don't mind the last option. I can do all sizes and ship em off!! I don't mind doing the work at all lol I've done them during the Quarantine, and needed to make extra sizes. I just wanna knock em out and keep going to the next set. Haha 🤣
This may have been answered somewhere along the way in one of your videos, Paola ... is it possible to reuse press-on nails? Does the adhesive eventually give way if soaked in warm water so you can take them off without bending them, or melting them off with acetone? Thank you for all your videos and excellent teaching -- you're so very generous with your time and talent. I love the niche you have created.
What I’m having trouble with is measuring the tips themselves to create a chart for clients to convert their sizes in mm to tip sizes. Measuring the tip width straight across would not account for the c curve of the natural nail but because im using sculpted gelx tips, doing the tape method on the tip might account for too much c curve because they shouldnt force the tip all the way down? Has anyone figured out the correct mm sizes for apres gelx? 😥
I make very detailed nails, and most of my sets have different designs on each nail. Will the premade sets still work well for that? Which sizes should I do for each nail and each size (small, medium, large)?
Oh wow, I'm surprised that I'm dead center between the small and medium "pre sized" sets that you offer. But i wear mostly 5/6 with an 8 for pinky and a 1/2 for thumb. But my cuticle shape is super round so ordering predesigned anything risks having to edit the cuticle shape
What if you want to provide several different length? How do I do that? Should I just buy full tips in different length? Or file and shape them myself?
Heyyy,I have a question☺️ I bought regular coffin tips and stiletto ones from Aliexpress but the coffin tips came in sizes from 0/9. The stiletto ones came from 0/11 and they run BIGGER so I'm worried bc they are completely different sizes between these two shapes. Any tips? I would like to sell each set with 20nails but it's a waste of stickers and supplies etc... Pls help me if you can..
Different shapes and different companies have different sizes. I suggest if you find a brand of shape you like you stick with it and create a chart. Company A might have amazing stilettos but okay coffin but Company B has great coffin and ovals. ✨ blessings on your journey
Hi Paola, thank you so much fo your interesting and well-explained videos! I would like to know where I can find extra wide measures for press-on nails such the 00 size you mentioned. I had no success in searching through the web unfortunately!
Hey Paola! It’s me again😅 I been using Apres tips for quite some time. But since I always just wear long tips, I just ysterday I noticed that different shapes and lenght of their brand have completely different width of the nail, but I noticed all biggest nails tech that sell press ons only have one sizing chart in their website, and they all have the same mm width from 0-9 (0 is always 18mm and 9 is always 8 mm). I was wondering how is that possible as they sell different lenghts and sizes and for example short natural stiletto number 7 is waaay smaller than long coffin number 7. I’m not sure how just one sizing works for all brands when the difference in the width is so big? I am trying to make a chart for each lenght and shape but I’m so lost as the measurement charts that Apres sent meke no sense..
Yes, they are different. The stiletto one is the more narrow one usually. If you carry shapes or sizes that are not standard to the common sizes you will have to specify that in your ordering system and/or also create a separate chart. You may also opt out of using certain shapes or sizes for that reason.
@@PaolaPonceNails yes I understand that. Apres company sent me the charts but they are not accurate. What I was trying to ask is, if you have any knowledge on how to measure the nails accurately so that I can make new charts for every shape? I still don’t understand how all other stores offer 20 different shapes, lenghts and styles with only one chart, so weird.
Thank you for all your videos I’m super excited to try the koikist nail tips For my press I’m biz @crazymavennailstudio looking forward to your certification class soon 💕
I've started a quest to do all the nail art designs you've done videos on and from MGN 😄 Also, may I be so bold as to suggest to instead of saying "she" and "her" to use "they/them", "the client" or any other gender-neutral pronoun? I know most people who get their nails done identify as female or femme; I think it's nice to be more inclusive, even in what seems like a small way, for those who love everything nails. 🥰
omg hahaha ❤️ ugh yes I love the way I am doing press ons especially because I've also heard SO many horror stories of clients measuring their nails wrong so when they get their set of ten, there are ones that don't fit. I also know that I wouldn't be able to keep track of everyones numbers and messages and emails. I just knew the 22 sets was the most seamless way for me to go. The pros definitely outweighed the cons with this way
Super productive and fun in my opinion! And it allows the individual to cater to their particular audience, not the masses, which can be overwhelming for just one press-ons’ artist 👩🎨
I've been watching your videos and finally started my first press-on's today. I will have 20 nails finished soon! I put a lot of thought into it and here just a few days ago I see your created new content for what was one my mind: sizing. Thanks for everything!
Thank you for this info, your links will come in handy! :) Been following you for some time now, and I get a lot of inspiration from your channel! Love all the way from sweden!
With knowing my friend's nails and my own (sizes 0/1 - 4/5 - 3 - 4 - 7), I'm really surprised that people only include 20-22 tips instead of 28. Out of 500 full cover package, it gives only 10 sets (due to double doubles of size 4, 5 and 6). What to do with 7 leftover sizes?
Hi!! What if I want to sell a set with one or two accent nails but while using the ready-to-sell method? If I designed a set for the accent nails to specifically be on a ring finger but the couple of accent nails I painted does not fit her ring finger, what should I do? I saw this method on this other girl's website where she sold individual accent nails, do you think that would be a good idea? Also, great video, extremely informative and to the point:)
hey paola 💞 hope you see this cause i have a question :) i want to do option 2, but im unsure of what happens if some people have different sizes than the standard? my sizes for most tips are 1, 6, 5, 7, 9. so how would i figure out how to size someone who might have nails like me? i was thinking custom sizes but that would take time and i wanna have some inventory ready as well. do you think the 20 piece sets are the best way to go? this is the only thing keeping me from starting because i am so unsure 😅 thank you 💜
So I’m confused. I want to go with the option where I can just ship my customers a few different sizes like when you buy press one at the drug store for instance. How do I go about doing this option? Do I just take 2 of each size nail and create my designs and ship them that way?
