“The Black Stealth Ninja Katana” Historically speaking, ninja never used katana. They used straight edged swords with a hole on the end of the scabbard. Samurai used the Katana as it fitted their needs better, more slicing, also the ninjato never had a blood groove like the katana.

Historically speaking, ninjas did actually use katan if they were actually Samurai tasked with espionage and get material from the rival clan. Ninja also was not a social class, but a job. The Ninjato seen most commonly is a type of chokuto (straight sword in Japanese) with a square tsuba, which was used, but not by ninja nor Samurai, but Ashigaru (peasant or common soldiers), albeit, in small numbers.

@@validbutatwhatcost8754 Ninja was a job. It literally means "spy" and is not a social class like Farmer or Samurai. So yes, in all literary meaning, Samurai were tasked with being ninja. This did not mean being dressed in all black, it meant disguising as the rival clan to not get your head cut off by said rival clan. Espionage is a lot more complicated than what 007 or other movies would like you to believe. So, not all ninja WERE samurai, but all samurai COULD be ninja, depending on the circumstances in hand. And in the early years of Japan (I.E. before Edo) it was just clan vs clan, no different than kingdom vs kingdom in Medieval Europe. Yes, there were times where Japan united to fight the Mongols or fight the Koreans, but it's no different than Europeans uniting together to fight the Vikings or the Muslim warriors. So, yes, there were some samurai tasked in being ninja, but Ashigaru or some child could also be ninja, it depends heavily on context and situation.

@@berzerkthejerk36The cleaver sword is bad against a horde. It's heavy, energy draining. It's good for survival scenarios or for 1v1 with a zombie, but for hordes of zombies you need something practical, light and effective. The most ideal weapon in a zombie apocalypse is the rapier.

There is so much wrong with the Katana alone- One. It has never been historically used by Ninjas. Why tf would a master of stealth carry not even necessarily use a 3 pound sword. Two. It’s single edged. You’d have to have precision when cutting with it or it won’t work. Not a good weapon when you’re trying to mow down hordes of zombies. Three. It required training to effectively use. If you don’t use it right you can say goodbye to it being a sword and use it as a fancy paper weight.

Each person is different for their Z-Apoc weapons. If edged weapons are of a concern, use a pole arm like a spear or halberd, as those give you enough range to not get killed. If swords are needed, you need something big and beefy, so Zweihanders or Nadachi. But if you need a smaller sword, then a katana is a good option indeed, messers as well and falchions. If you need a blade that is good at two things, do a machete, as they can clear brush and Z-limbs. But, getting stuck is a concern, so using blunt impact weapons like wooden clubs, bats, maces, or hammers are your best bet. Or, if you're really feeling it, use firearms. Specifically choose firearms in which parts and ammo are abundant, so if you're American, the AR Platform is your friend. If handguns, go with the 1911, Beretta 92 and Glock 17 (or 34, 19, 19x 45, or anything that can take Glock 17 magazines). Revolvers are also good, and I recommend using a .357 revolver, as those can also shoot .38 Specials. (If you have an M79 Medusa, good on you). If you're really cracked up, use a Kel-Tec Sub2000, cause it takes glock mags (or multiple mags), can fold, and has a threaded barrel for a suppressor (there is also the CQC variant that is integrally suppressed AND there are both versions in .40 S&W)

@@Nater2204 AR is like 8 lb loaded as well as the mossberg and the pistol weigh little also why would I carry things around as opposed to just leaving the cities or populated areas and going to a more rural setting and living off the land effectively avoiding a lot of unneeded fighting with zombies and or other survivors that you’d face in a city as far as carrying things goes if you’re carrying all that on you’re back you didn’t plan diligently enough in the first days of an outbreak or even when said zombie virus situation started you didn’t plan diligently with the time you had if anything you’d have time to stock up you’re things and leave using a vehicle before shit hits the fan or even as shit is first hitting the fan which is when you want to leave anyways and build a camp far away from civilization and stick it out and live off the land of of course you did have the necessary survival skills if not you’re likely in trouble anyways food will run out, so will water, gas, electricity all of it in that fictitious situation so you’d need to be able to effectively live off the land before even thinking about a weapon if you prepare properly you hopefully won’t have to carry all you’re belongings on you

@@Nater2204 If it did come to me having to go on foot for a long period of time I would keep my AR and my 1911 on me and leave my mossberg and Taurus at whatever camp I’d have made myself and I’d pack very lightly being prepared is nice but carrying 80+ lb on you is a burden larger than any benefit you’ll have from packing heavy you can live for a long time without food and water is everywhere if you know how to make it drinkable so I wouldn’t prioritize carrying lots of it a bedroll or what hammock would be light so most of the weight I’d have on me is the ammunition and guns I’m currently carrying on my person as far as food and water goes I am 100% confident in my own survival skills that I’d be able to find food and water to where I feel like I don’t need to carry a lot on me

None of these are good for the zombie apocalypse. Not only does cutting have little to zero effect on a zombie, it will also easily get stuck inside one when wielded by someone unskilled. Not only that, the time it takes to properly maintain such weapons is extremely inefficient as the blades will start to dull. Instead get a sledge hammer, or something similar, not only will you be able to keep them at a distance. It is easy to clean and maintain, and does the job way better as when disabling a zombie you need to go for bone breaks instead of disembowelment's etc. Not only that but also there is very little chance of it getting stuck in one, as well as it being a tool that can break down doors and windows.

I mostly agree but a sledge hammer isn't a good example, for one thing I'd pick a weapon that's actually made to be a weapon, sledge hammers are far heavier than almost all actual melee weapons and would be incredibly tiring to use, I'd choose a fireaxe over a sledge any day and if I could choose anything I'd choose a polehammer, it does what you'd want a sledgehammer to do in a fight but drastically better, as it's actually made to be a weapon.

Cleaver sword is the only right option of the 4. No points of failure full tang/ One solid piece of metal, paracord handle for in case of an emergency. Still has enough weight to be used as a Blunt force edge weapon once a dull.

Your better off using a spear than a katana. Katana requires cleaning and it's weak to rust. Spear on other hand has more range and piercing is better than slashing just make sure you have a sharp point. Either go for the head or the legs poking them in the legs cause them to fall in the ground easier to kill.

poleaxe solos it was a european polearm widely used by medieval infantry, it was used to breach armour of men at arms during 1400 - 1500 it could be 4 - 6 feet long or 1.2 - 2m , the top of the weapon had a spear tip on one side a sharp axe, and on the other a heavy hammer, making all the weight be at the tip, this means that you could swing it reasonably fast with 2 hands when holding the middle, and you could hit pretty hard when holding the bottom with 2 hands, even going so far as to breaking someones skull or ribs or arm in a single well placed swing, and even if you miss the axe or hammer in lets say a sideways swing or downwards swing, the shaft is still made of hard wood reinforced with metal for about 20 - 40 cm, and if you stab a zombie with the spear they will have a hard time walking through the weapon due to the axe and hammer on both sides.

For survival I will pick the manganese sword it's very obvious and practical. From the word survival it self you will not just fight the zombie you need to hunt food make shelter log wood . You can also make trap and other wooden weapon. You may think gun is the best choice but remember this is a zombie apocalypse soon you will be out of ammo and the 1st thing you will do is get away from cities cuz crowd areas have a lots of zombies and when you're in the wilderness you can not cut a wood with your AR15 😅.

Khopish or the cleaver sword definitely. Katana is awesome but if you want it to maintain that “slice through bone like butter” edge it requires virtually constant maintenance. The other two have more heft to them as well as being sharp especially the cleaver sword. So follow through is much easier with a katana there’s like virtually no weight to the blade so it all comes down to technique. Doesn’t matter how sharp it is if the technique isn’t right you’re not doing maximum damage. With a heavier blade that’s also sharp there’s nothing that’s not getting cut if it gets in the way. It’s way heavy blades (axes,guillotines, etc.) have always been used when they did beheadings. At least everywhere outside of japan lol

Blood is corrosive so when metals have blood on them for a long time they typically rust and erode but also that these weapons are less than practical when you have a gun with ammo, a better weapon to choose is a staff that is long and durable because they take less time to master and have deadly force once mastered and any piercing weapon is great

A 300blk ar-15 sbr with an lpvz and a can(decent for medium game and zombies anywhere within 300 yards and relatively quiet), glock 21 with a can(good to have a relatively quite sidearm that you can make shots with at range though realistically I can’t hit a zombie head reliably past around 25 yards), 4-5ft pole ax with a hammer head and ax blade (correct length for a walking stick and a multi tool for wood cutting, entering buildings, and dispatching zombies), buck 119 knife (decent all around piece big enough to chop if need be but small enough for tight spaces with a blade that’s good for cutting and thrusting)

frankly- kopesh is the most versatile choice in terms of eficiency, though the cleaver is better in terms of utility

There’s so many cool options, not even counting made up ones (looking at you blades of chaos), but most practical and best melee weapon overall would be a well made bo staff with one end having a bayonet style spear point, the other being blunt force end. Gives distance advantage, doubles as walking stick, can conserve energy oppose to swinging axes and bats. Katana would be great bc it’s so light and slices like butter, I’d feel more comfortable with a spear staff that doubles as bat like weapon.
