From my own personal experience, i stopped engaging in contact completely. Dont delete or block them because that shoes emotion. Just do nothing. And have enough self respect not to look back. If they really wanted you and loved you, they would have stayed or come back. You have to learn to love yourself first regardless of whether they are with you or not. I will never beg for someone to stay or fight for me ever again. It was so low and i am worth so much more than that. Learnt the hard way tbh.

If somebody breaks up with you, it's THEIR loss, NOT yours. You can be the best man, or woman, to them and if they leave, LET. THEM. WALK. It's okay to be sad for a short while after the breakup. Don't stay there too long though. Block them on social media. You weren't important to them during your time with them, they're not important to you now after the breakup. When they broke up with you, they lost the right to know what's going on in your life. Eventually, you have to move on, so that the right person can come into your life. Also, it is never good to live in the past too long. You will never find the person who values you, while you dwell on somebody who didn't know your worth. Blocking them is for you, not them, to move forward without the constant reminder of seeing them on your social media.

Hey Buz. I know we all feel like blocking them, but think about another perspective for a second. Like Lee says, think of how it will make you look in your ex's eyes. If you block them, it's like showing your hand. Your hand is saying you don't have much to beat them with. It's saying they beat you. They have the stronger hand cuz they are not emotionally involved enough to block you. Plus, letting them see your life improve after the break up is the best revenge you can give someone. Indirect revenge. It lets them see what they are missing out on. If you truly see yourself as the better option & that it's THEIR loss, then you will allow them to see what they are missing. It's the toughest choice though between not blocking them & blocking them. My advice, don't look at their profile ever. I know you were saying you should block them for your own benefit, but you don't have to block someone to never see their profile. Just unfollow them & never go to their page. But know they are always looking at yours to see if they made a mistake in breaking up with you. One thing I never realized. When a girl breaks up with you, it's really not forever in her mind. It's really just a chess move to see what you do & a lot of times, it's totally to make you realize she wants you to change but she doesn't know how else to say it. Now of course, most of the time she wants you to chase her at some point but if you just show her what she lossed, then that gives her more to think about when it comes to your value in her eyes. And the more valuable you become in her eyes, the more she is gonna wanna chase you when she realizes you're not gonna chase her.

I agree. To keep them around on your webpage to show them how much you're having a good time without them, is nothing short of being vengeful. That's playing games, nothing more. This is why relationships don't work. People play too many games. If somebody ends up leaving you and they want space, I give them the galaxy as well. Being able to walk away creates attraction, however, my attraction gets lost once they walk away meaning that ship done sailed. I also agree, it's none of their business what you are now doing. They had that opportunity and threw it away.

Slick, I think you are exaggerating a little here when you say its vengeful to allow them to see your social media. Remember, vengeance is seeking to harm someone. If you make a mistake & don't realize at all you made a mistake & I tell you about your mistake, that's not vengeance. I'm trying to help you. That's exactly what you're doing for your ex. You are trying to help them realize they made a mistake by breaking up with you. It's not harming them when they see how great your life is without them now. It's making them question if they made the right decision. I called it indirect revenge cuz you're not actively trying to get back at them, you're just letting it happen naturally. They will feel that sense of loss if they see your life improve & feel like their life has not improved. The sense of loss helps people...helps people Slick. Helps them to see wrong decisions they made so they can learn from it next time. I mean sure, people will still feel that sense of loss if you block them, but in my opinion it wont be nearly as strong a feeling if they cant see what your life is like after the break up. I agree with you that relationships wont work if people are playing games, but you have to try to change that. You have to show people what game they're playing & that it's going to result in them losing things of value. Honestly, we all play games to a certain degree so the goal should be to recognize the game & try to change into mature behavior. Sure it's none of their business but that's showing your emotional tie & just looking out for yourself. I'd rather be the stronger person & look out for them as well so they can see their mistake. Just think how good it would feel if your ex calls you some day & says, I'm really sorry for what I did...I realize now it was a mistake & you were the best thing that ever happened to me. For me, that's a much better feeling than I'm never gonna hear from them again since I blocked them from contacting me or seeing my life in any way. We know the relationship was an opportunity for them but lets be clear, if they break up with you, they don't see you as an opportunity. Easiest way to change that is let them see your life improve.

Having recently broken up, got back together, broken up, got back together, broken up, got back together, my ex still wanted to be friends with me on Facebook. This was way too many times that I went back to give her "a chance" as she so put it. I noticed that every time I was posting that I was having fun, moved on from her and out with doing lots of stuff, I guess then she would wonder if she made the right decision. Not that she'll ever see or even read this, but no, you did not. I would get contacted by her. This time I have without reservations blocked her on EVERYTHING and I am happy I did. THIS IS A PERFECT EXAMPLE OF WHY EXES DO NOT NEED TO KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING. I'm finished riding the crazy train. If they think it was a mistake to break up with you, they were confused, or they had no idea what they wanted, then they maybe should have figured that out long before they broke up with you. Not once, did I ever go and check out her status nor did I care. When somebody breaks up with you that's it. That's why it's called a breakup. You both go your separate ways. This isn't high school where "we will always stay in touch", life is short and I intend on being happy. Take my advice, move on without them and let them think about what you are doing without being able to check. As for being vengeful, or mean or hopeful, no, it's about peace of mind.

@@Deadseelife She needs time to see you are gone. That won't happen if you contact her. Be happy and confident (even if you are faking it). Make her pursue you. Don't be the pursuer. This is the ONLY way it can work. Period. Keep going NC and stay strong. Become a different person so when the day comes you make contact, she will see a different person. Good luck and stay strong!

I knew she wasnt coming back because she had a great support system behind her: family and friends. 3 years later she moved on with her moms best friend and he got 5 kids and doesnt do a damn for her. I unfriended him when he broke up with me than later on he blocked me so we not connected on any social media together plus he did a rebound asap n moved on I been in no contact over a year n will continue no contact forever at least in my part he won't hear from me n I doubt he will miss me if he is entertaining someone else.

Milagros, you said you doubt he will miss you if he is entertaining someone else. This is not true. I am a guy that did not realize rebound relationships were wrong. I do now. But even in a rebound, your ex will miss you, even a guy. If there was anything he liked about you, & you were together longer than a couple months, he will miss certain things about you. It's true for me. I missed every single ex, no matter how shitty the break up was & no matter who broke up with who, I still missed them. I believe it's really something as humans, we cannot avoid. Will he miss you enough to contact you or want you back? Well, that depends on a few more things, but he will miss you, I can assure you of that. Just remember, we are all human & make mistakes. I'm really sorry it didn't work out for you. I've been there. Actually I'm there right now. That's why I'm watching this video, ha.

@@williamjames212 He was afraid of his feelings for me we grew up together nobody has treated him right I took him off guard as a woman how I treated him n at times he backed up a little because what he was feeling plus he has trust issues from his past and at last min through that on me his words I treated him special n he felt like a king and at times he talked about us in the future all I know I treated him right he did me wrong so one day he will regret what he loss I just have to keep doing what I'm doing not to fall back in depression I'm in a better place than I was before n I can't go back there.

@@bigash44 Wow thank you for ur reply yes we was 2 years together and grew up together I took him off guard as a woman he never been treated right words from him I treated him special n he felt like a king but he was so afraid what he was feeling sometimes he backed up a little but told me why n it was that plus he told me I could make any man happy that I was perfect n all but he had that wall of trust issues from his pass I truly thought I could break down that wall but I couldn't n out of nowhere he ghosted me over a month than left me over trust issues than what he jumped to conclusions n wasn't true but he messed up he got involved with someone one day he will realize what he loss all I can do is keep on going I tried n got ignored long time ago never again I will reach out I didn't do nothing wrong he did he broke my heart to the core😥

My ex don’t missed me. Before we broke up, she is with another person. Her best friend to be exact. She is mad at me. And she even told me to curse her and the like. She fooled me. But the bottom line is, I really love her so much. What must I do? I have tried that no contact rule but I failed. She dont even care a bit. We were on for almost 6 years. My ex girlfriend did not wish me a happy birthday only a few months after the breakup and she certainly knew when it was. Yep, I was wondering if she would in advance and all day and next day. Nothing came. I got a speeding ticket a few days after my bday and we were going to meet up to handle some business shortly after my bday, she co-signed for my car and insurance money was due. ( She wanted to terminate that too). I told her I got a ticket after my bday in a text but my bday was a lot of fun (it was, I got a lot of action that month, ;) lol) but said I missed her saying hbd. Only then did she ask how my bday was but still didn't say hbd, just 'sorry' (for not doing it.) That sorry was said in a cold-hearted manner. She is despicable awful.

So I was dumped because I didnt show enough interest when she was showing a ton back. I was scared of moving too fast and due to poor communication she distanced herself. Then I got needy, desperate, and made every mistake in the book for about 10 months. This whole time we hung out as friends and talked almost daily. Feelings were good, but. That is my situation now. She's moved on and is trying to replace me. What's messed up is we both knew we were meant for each other. Being apart just makes no sense. Yet we are and she's trying to move on while I can't because I know her value to my life... and mine to hers. But she's too stubborn to see that right now. It's tragic.

@@yuliyakarapetyan6836 Look closely. I didnt say I agree with her idea on the birthday thing. I just said she was right about people secretly wanting to feel special on their birthday. I think it really depends on the situation & how much time has passed after the break up. My ex broke up with me but then wished me a happy birthday a week later. Haha. I was like, are you dumb or schizo? I ignored her cuz it didnt mean anything. Who breaks up with you & then wishes you happy birthday? It's kinda retarded if you ask me. But the reason she did it was because she didnt know if the new guy was gonna pan out & wanted to have me as a back up. In your case, I would not keep texting him. If he hates you right now, nothing will change overnight as they say. You have to give people space and time away from you in order to miss you & remember the good things. If you just keep nagging him, he will only remember the constant nagging cuz that's what's in front of him at the moment. You can't control anyone. If you go a long time without talking & then wish someone a happy birthday by surprise out of nowhwere, I think it means more at that point cuz they didn't expect to hear from you. Your best bet now, find people who dont ignore you but instead enjoy your company. I know its hard to let go of people that once loved you, but it really is the best solution to get back your emotions & your sanity. Best advice I ever got on break ups: if your partner wants to break up, give them the break up.

If he wanted the break up, you cant go out of your way for him anymore cuz that's what you do when you're together. Let him see what life is like without you there for a second. It's definitely gonna be tough for you to do, but it's the right thing to do. I literally had to repeat those 5 words over & over till I really believed it. Give her the break up, give her the break up, I would say about 50 times a day. The power of speaking things out actually works, not sure why or how but it does work.

I originally broke it off because I wasn’t a priority. He would lie about things .. after I broke up with him I reached out a wee later to try and discuss things . He did not respond. I called and then texed several days later. I was met with silence. My friends sAid maybe he blocked you. I think if he blocked me that says a lot. So I stopped reaching out. I went into no contact. I think that part of advice of not posting selfie pictures of yourself enjoying your life and looking good just to please him is ridiculous just cause if he sees it he may get annoyed. What if I'm posting pictures of me and friends going out or catching up somewhere just enjoying their company then tag these pictures to my friends and cause friends asked cause they wanted the pictures but he just happens to be on their friends list -- so you tag your friends pictures not because to shows it off to him but for your friends and that seems like it's to grab his attention and just to show off and make me seem obnoxious cause he sees I'm the one posting it to my friends wall and his on their friends list but not my friends posting it to me the pictures of our day together. What if I'm posting pictures just for reasons for me and my friends as not everything I do inside my intention is not actually for him but for me and my friends cause we are all having a great time? That's just a stupid advice really. Not everything a woman do after a break up is solely for the guy.

Not true. Sometimes the one you are apart from is the one who you were meant to be with. We are imperfect people and one can make a foolish mistake in a weak moment that causes the relationship to be over. When that person is irreplaceable, why move on and settle for someone who will always be less, who can never live up to all that he or she was before???? That makes NO sense. Everyone's not the same so simply moving on can never be done in some situations.
