Congratulations on the first ever under van shot that you inserted here where you sat your camera on the ground and drove over the top of it. That is a very unique perspective and I've watched dozens if not hundreds of van builds and I've never seen someone give you the undershotI'm giving you the first ever on RU-vid of that in the van build world
That is one cool van build and you built that very brilliantly and very geniusly !!! That is super cool !!! And you handbuilt all of that ? You must be a pretty damn good craftsman and woodsmith and builder and metalsmith !!!
I love the fact that it is a "Sleeper," doesn't look like much, but AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL INSIDE!! The other things that won me over were the 4 wheel drive and the added ground clearance. But, the interior STOLE MY BREATH AND HEART!!! WOW!!! You have done a ton of amazing work and designing to attain a great RV! I have always dreamed of living in a log cabin so you won my heart right off the bat! Having AC that runs off solar is the greatest!!! You have attained a beautiful and well thought out build to meet all needs and "what ifs."
@@EndgameCampersBack in the "old days" the term "sleeper" was meant for a car that looked like it was on its last leg, but under the hood was an extremely high powered performance engine that could shut down any vehicle leaving a light and out run any other vehicle. LOL! Ahhhhh! The memories.
The interior build is absolutely beautiful! And watching the beefy 4x4 van roll over the off-road is so cool. This has to be the best off-road capable camper van I’ve ever seen! Great Job! Looking forward to your future builds. Keep ‘em rolling’.
I love what you've done with the van. I am handicapped but able to do some stuff. I bought a 2003 e 350 ford club wagon van set up as maintenance , repair, etc. The previous owner started converting it into a vanning across the U.S.A. build. Life happened and he had to sell it. Well I just worked with what he did inside. Once I got it to where it was working out for me doing some side jobs when not in too much pain. Than my land lord jacked up my rent to where it was too much for me. Than I had to scramble to move everything around so I could live in it and also work out of it. All this happened quickly and I soon realized a male needs very little to survive. So in 2 months or so I will be living and doing side jobs out of it. This is set up as a working and sleeping vehicle. I do a lot of tinkering around so adding an adjusting to make things do doesn't bother me. I am keeping the outside of the van to look stock and stealthy so that I can park almost anywhere and it will blend in. I know every van build is unique to the individual needs and not everybody might not like it but being now single and limited movements this will work out for me. My bathroom is a bucket called the "sit n shit". Then the coffee creamer container is for # 1. Showering is every 2-3 or 4 days, truck stops or the gym. I'm learning as I go. It would have been nice to have time and money to make a nicer unit but, this is going to work out for me. When I get it set I'll send a few pictures. Again, nice work. Love how you gutted the van and worked everything to fit. Also made with the knowledge that things do break and need repair. You made your replaceable parts accessible when completed.
Thanks for sharing your experiences. I believe change is sometimes a catalyst for the development of a better you. It will be some tough times, but it sounds like you have a plan. Regarding vans - yes, the near infinite customization of a camper van perhaps is only topped by true art.
Nice job. I like the versatile sleeping area. I would definitely live in that. Love the swivel chair up front. I'm lost without a nice place to sit. Good luck in the future😊
Kind sir … simply and succinctly an incredibly well thought out and executed design with function considered at each step!!! You should be most proud!!! Job one well done!!! God bless!!! Chuck Knight from Atascocita, Texas. ✝️🎣👨🌾🙏
Really nice! Love the bathroom in a van. Your wood working is fantastic! Love the 4×4 also! Very creative and like how accessible everything is to work on. Now just a small japanese washer and you've got it all! Have you seen those? Like a large bowl for one outfit.
Excellent job. Keeping the dream alive for those of us who cannot do this yet. Will get there though and someday we may cross paths out west somewhere!
Beautiful build Dave thanks for giving us the full tour. My Dad loved all the Cedar. He recognized it right away 😄💕 Hope you're recovering from the build burnout 🤙 I see you no longer have your email listed, did you get your account hacked? A lot of bogus scammers posing as vendors trying to hack and take over people's RU-vid accounts right now. So be weary and don't download any forms they send
Regardless of answers, I LOVE the job you did - some great ideas🥰and 400 watts of solar? 🤪YESSS!🤪 Now, I have some questions? 1. What solar panels did you use? 2. Why did you use a 5000 BTU A/C unit -- did you need that size to cool the inside space? 3. Why did you put the tire and A/C on the doors you did -- doesn't that make it blow over your head at night? 4. How is the A/C intake & exhaust separated in the box -- you said it was, but how? 5. What is the weight distribution related to the axles (forward.over.behind) with the batteries located passenger-aft? 6. Would love to know more about your reclining/rotating passenger seat...make and how it was done? Maybe another time? Again, kewl rig - thanks!😍
I’m glad you like it. These are a lot of questions to be answered in the comments section. I made a bunch of videos during my build. Take a look at those and most of your questions should be answered.
@@EndgameCampers Thanks -- I will go looking when I have some free time -- it was early when this came on my feed and I hadn't had time to read many other entries. It should be fun - hope I can find all the answers=;^)
Oh wow! A masterpiece, indeed. If he made such a thing for others the price of it for sale would be exorbitant! Not many people would be able to afford it.
I have a ‘95 E350 7.3 that was a former ambulance with a fiberglass high top. Mine feels cramped just having a full size bed. I’m mindblown at how much can fit inside. I want mine to look exactly like this one day.
Love it❤ THE AC ON A VAN CAN ROLL IN AND OUT WHEN YOU PARK IF YOU NEED THE SPACE INSIDE OR WHEN IS GOING TO BE IN USE.SALUDOS !!FROM Puerto Rico island 😊
Smaller "Open Road" class A motorhomes in the mid/late '70s had a unique wet bath setup to where the sink & commode were built into the front & rear walls of the shower & folded down out of the walls. To drain or flush, just close the fold down assembly. Made for a roomier shower.
Within about four or five minutes of listening to you I could tell you either ex military ex police officer, or possibly both and so I immediately liked and subscribed because I support both and I like your manner and straightforwardness plus the van is freaking awesome!
I knew a guy named Thomas Kohler in Oregon that had a mid 90s four-wheel-drive van just like this but it was a shell inside that he kind of roughed into a camper but never really got above the mattress on the floor and a few other Spartan additions. Nothing like this, but it's stance was very similar from the outside minus the high roof
I got several ideas from your build for my van I’m in the process of building. I’m an amputee so my build will be slightly different. But you gave me several ideas I’m going to implement.
Outstanding build. Extremely well thought out, functional and beyond aesthetically beautiful . The pull off doors.(that can be lap tables)👍 Congrats. 4 sale?
I just saw a video at this year's NAM show (musicians) and a company came out with a new peddle called , .. "Endgame" ... it has a feature non other on the market has. ... I can link the link .. but I just got a kick out of it. pb. Also 6 months may seem long to you but it really is quite quick and nicely built.
I want to get a Ford cutaway cube box truck Class 3 or a mobility van or like one of those ice cream trucks. I saw someone do a Freightliner Class 6 Box truck and the build is insane. My only issue with that is where to find parking and I've never driven commercial trucks well except U-hauls. I just want more ceiling space and bottom drawer space.
A Rose in the Weed of RV"s....very well done, your only Early competitor is the GMC Motor Home which was only made between 1974-78.....You have Bragging Rights!
What a wonderful build! Great ideas and craftsmanship! Thanks for taking the time to show us! I've built a 1989 Chevy high top van interior and all I can say is the wall angles on old vans will test your patience. What kind if captains chairs are those in your van? Any idea? Thanks again Dave, love your videos!! Take care
I really appreciate that! I’m not sure about the chairs origin either. I bought them off FB marketplace. The guy did say they were from a van. I had to make a few mods, but they work well. I forgot to mention them in the video. Thanks again!
