Are you related to Jonna Jinton? You look like the male version of her. You have the same mannerism as she does and the same expressions. Even your speech is similar. I LOVE her and now that I have found your channel, I love watching you too :)
Dear Jonna, we are watching your channel in Lithuania. Your videos are magical and mesmerizing. I don’t speak enough English to express our admiration for your art. Best wishes to you from Lithuania ❤
It's lovely. Jonna, it's because of you l found this channel too. ❤. Listening to your name from someone else's video is an amazing feeling. Kalle, you have a beautiful cabin with a beautiful view. You are so lucky to live in such a place .
We also have a fairly drafty cabin with gaps around doors. Something we do is put long skinny ‘pillow’ like things on the floors right against the doors to block the drafts. I made them with fabric and any kind of stuffing, to form a long tube that lays in front of the door and stops some of the air from moving into the living space. I can send a picture if this isnt clear, but they really do help quite a lot.
Love the cabin! Have you heard of a draft excluder? Lots of old homes here in England use them at the bottom of doors to stop the cold wind coming through. As well as thick heavy curtains across doors to keep the cold out and heat in. 😊
I was just about to tip Kalle on the same thing, in Sweden we call it Dragkorvar and the best thing is that you can make them of your own, just sew a big long "Korv" and fill it with sand.
Wonderful, wonderful home tour. I’m in the US so don’t know any equivalent terminology. What came to mind was wool roving wrapped around/under a board, and secured to the entry draft area.
I was thinking the same. Or door brushes, that screw to the bottom of the door to close the gap and as they are attached to the door they are very simple and effective.
Your home is so beautiful! Thank you for sharing it with us. I love everything, but especially the light fixture. What a great idea! Armejringsjärn is rebar grid used in concrete construction.
Morning from the UK Kalle. WOW even after watching all of your videos I hadn’t realised how much more of your beautiful cabin I hadn’t seen. Every inch holds a memory, the true mark of a great home. You should feel really proud of everything you have achieved. I have to laugh because here in the UK house prices have become ridiculous. I see houses that were bought 2 years ago now on the market and selling for 200k more. Your picture perfect home would be worth millions over here. So sharing this full tour is all the more magical to watch and see a property with soul that is priceless not because of the geographical location but because of the love you have given it, it reminds us Brits how a home should be regarded rather than a place to be used for financial gains. On a separate note, do you know about the hot brick trick? Place a brick in foil into your oven or on your fire, you can then use it as a hot water bottle, in the bed, or anywhere else you need heat. Ensure there is a good amount of foil so it doesn’t burn any wood! If too dangerous use a hot water bottle by boiling the water on the fire stove. Also have you ever thought of adding water pipework to the stove so it heats up pipes around your home and acts as central heating?
sometimes people just need to hate certain people, in order to feel their life and family is going well. sometimes the world we live in becomes more important than certain humans. i pray for you and your family, Kalle. and my hope and prayer is that people learn to love and care about me too someday. obcviously that day has not came yet, im hopeful though.
Such a ' gezellig' cottage like we say in Dutch for cosy. I think in Danish it's similar to Hygge! very lovely to see the layout. hope you both are doing okay after your sad experience and well done for moving forward with so much positivity. love from The netherlands!
Every single time you show your cabin I find my self repeating the same: Esta Bello!!!!🥰The outside, the inside decor, the spaces; it's so beautiful!!!
I love when you say the names of things in Sweedish. Nice to see a video from you...sending much love to you both. You guys have so much love here and I think it's beautiful.
Some object built with your father, some with your mother, some with your friends and so much more. Shows the amazing and wonderful connection you have with this lovely cabin.❤️❤️
What a great cozy cabin! It has great details that you added that make it so special! What luck that you had a rope in the bedroom when you got locked in!! I look forward to your next video Kalle 😃
Dear Kalle, so nice to see that you give so much love and work into your home! I loved the beginning with the short blooper 😄 Did you try these stuffed "snakes" for the door with the gap? You know, like these long fabric thingies that stop the air going through the gaps of the doors in the living room. Those make a big difference 🙏 A very beautiful home for you 😌
Oh! And me and my boyfriend thought that you also could cover the fridge with these incredible beautiful woodpieces -with the help of magnets! Just an idea^^
Hej, hej Kalle! Thank you for the tour. You did an amazing job 🤩! So many well thought through details. I especially like your stove and the light installations 💡🕯. And another thing: the video quality is superb! Take care!
Kale, I love your cosy cabin in the woods. The simplicity and peace is fabulous. However, there is a lot of hard work to maintain everything I'm sure. You keep it amazing.
Kalle thank you for inviting us all to your cabin. It's amazing what you've done with it!! One suggestion - not sure if you can do it or want to - in most refrigerators you can flip the side from which door opens. It may be more practical for you to open it from right-to-left side 🥰
The little wood oven is super cute. It surprises me that in such a cold climate it seems quite common to have such little wood ovens to cook on, rather then a big wood oven you load up to keep going day/night. Your cabin is lovely and cosy.
Just love your channel so much! Thank you! It brings a little Scandinavian sweetness to my life and awareness here in Brooklyn, NY. I love the hammock chair by the fire. Thank you,! 🙏🕊☺️
Lots of creativity!! 👏 Its beautiful and I love the décoration 😊 The kitchen!!😍😍 Cozy is best word to describe your house. Send you two lots of love and take care hugs ❤💚
Love that you have almost no bought furniture 🤎 And the rooms are so spacious and cosy at the same time. Reminds me of a small farmhouse I lived in for a while in the Swiss mountains - it had a green wool carpet in the living room that made you feel it was grass or moss indoors, and so much art on the walls that had been payment for the organic veg grown in the garden. It was heated by a typical tiled stove that served both kitchen and living room. The attic with low windows had simply been painted white, it was beautiful. Very fond memories! Touches that make a house a home, like you have, too.
Kalle, Thank you for the tour. I love the looks and layout of your cabin. I can sympathize with the cold hallway, studio and bedroom! I grew up in a farmhouse, built about 1835, with one heating register in the front hall, right in front of the stair door. That door was kept closed most of the winter to keep the heat downstairs. I have delusions of living simply, but in truth am a packrat. You give me hope that I can change. You and Christine inspire me to do better.
Really enjoyed this. I loved the connections of the table and light made with your mum and dad. The writing on the wall is so special. Great to see an insight into your personalities, through a different angle. An incredible home x
I was almost expecting you to say "Here is my little office space, I built these PCs using wooden planks from the ceiling" 😜 Just joking, I love the way you and Christine made this old cabin look and feel like a cosy home.
Thanks for your house tour! Lovely to see so much wood 💚🌲 beautiful! It makes me realise that I need to totally declutter my own home... Stuff accumulates over the years... Good stuff of course! Don't forget to leave a few drafts to give air to the fire!
This is incredible Kalle, thank you so much for letting us in! And I absolutely LOVE the table and the typewriter in the living room! 💙 And great job on the kitchen! Also bonus points for the TIE fighter on the shelf hehe 😎
@@KalleFlodin are you kidding, I'm a huge Star Wars fan! I had 3 light sabers, I have the monopoly from the Clone Wars and a chess game and more! And I always cry at the end of the Revenge of the Siths when Anakin becomes Darth Vader 😅
I loved the tour. Your cabin is so lovely. You can see that a lot of love and dedication has gone into it. I absolutely love the lights (Chandeliers) over your dining table and in the kitchen. Very beautiful.
I like the cloth enclosure around your bed. I can see where that would make it much cozier and promote much better sleep. And having it colder where you sleep is beneficial as well!
I don't want a mansion! I want a beautiful cabin surrounded with trees, plants and lots of flowers, like yours. I love the solitude. I live in the city and it didn't felt like home to me. I wish I could find a home like yours, Kalle!
Kalle&Kristina u have a beautiful cabin. U did alot of great&creative work. Absolutely love it and thank u for showing us your home. I really do hope everything will work out for u both in your life and with a RU-vid too so u can make the cabin warm with insulation and running water, heating and bathroom
I love your cabin it’s so homey & cozy & well thought out . I especially liked the lights you made hanging from rope & the wooden crates for various storage .
I det enkla bor det vackra som man säger. Väldigt intressant att få se insidan av er fina stuga. Älskar alla lösningar ni gjort, inspirerande. Tack! 😃❤
Kalle, don’t brain yourself on those ceilings and beams! What adventures this cabin has seen over the years. Wonderful place. Gosh love the bed curtains. Dreamy.
Wow I never really knew how magical your cabin is! Even though it gets so cold, it really exudes such warmth! Even through video, I felt the warmth! Just beautiful.
Thank you for the tour of your house. I also live in an old house in Sweden, and this was great inspiration to find cosier and cheaper ways of fixing the house. I´m definetley going to show this to my husband the next time we sit down to make plans for our house. And I hope you and Christine feel better. We experienced a miscarriage a couple of years ago. I will never forget it, but the pain have faded with time.
Such a beautiful renovation.....it definitely has a woman's touch. The kitchen and bedroom are my favorite. I would definitely be looking into a more energy efficient woodstove in the future to replace the glass fireplace, although I'm aware the light from the fire during the darkest time of the year would be soothing and comforting.
Hello sweet Kalle hope u and Wife are happy and well. Always enjoy yr voice and knowledge. 🤘💝 USA here.. For now till u renovate u should put a towel or heavy rug along the bottom. Or I'm sure u could make like a 2 sided door puffy cover, people here buy 2 pieces of foam and fabric, u sew them in fabric and it slides under the door. Keeps out drafts from both sides,
I love how you reused the old wood from the kitchen. Everything is so minimal and so beautiful. Hope you and Cristina are doing better!🙏 Sending love from Greece 💚
The metal mesh you are hanging the lights from is called reinforcing mesh, and is used for all sorts of handy things, but was invented to reinforce concrete, especially in concrete flooring, or concrete driveways to homes, to make them much stronger. In Australia, we shorten just about every word, so it's called "reo mesh"...or even just "reo"! As in "What about hangin' y' lights from a hit o' reo? That'd be okay." You did ask...! 😁👍❤🦘 I really enjoyed the video...and l love the lights...hangin' from the reo, like that...so good, mate! 😊💡💡💡God bless you.
Love everything about your cabin, especially the small effects like the light fixture and the dining table you built. You are industrious and wonderful! 🤩❤️
Thank you for the tour of your cozy cabin :) So many beautiful solutions. I thought to share a couple things that I thought might be helpful. We have a similar door crack in our little mountain cabin -- we roll up a thick towel and put against it, so there is no draft of cold air. Not the same as a perfectly insulated door, but greatly reduces heat loss. I also wanted to suggest to look into a Russian stove which is known for a great heating quality and retention. I realize it'd be a huge project to rebuild a stove, but may be some aspects of the design could be useful. Lastly, I wanted to mention that we use wood ash in our garden and it makes a great fertilizer.
Thanks for the tour of your cozy cabin. It was nice to see all the little details. ♥️ I love all the work you’ve done, especially the rope and lights. So glad to hear you are feeling better. ♥️🙏
Just found your channel. First watched your episode about you buying your dream cabin & totally changing your lifestyle to country living. Living the “Good Life”means away from the crowds & cities. Back to the basics with a lot of fresh air & open space.
My husband and I just discovered you this morning! Love your videos beautiful place and you seem like such a down to earth real person Keep em coming! We'll be watching from Terrace, British Columbia 🇨🇦
Hey Kalle I also live in an old house on the coutry side of Brazil, I was wondering outside the house, and I found a date of 1930. It was amazing. Beautiful video
I loved this cabin tour. So cool to see all the spaces and I genuinely love the changes and adaptations you've made to the place. The bit about your bedroom doorknob sounds so intense. Good thing you are so fond of rope. As always, thanks for inviting us all in.
Cattle panel fencing is what it looks like to me that you have used for the lights. And we call them metal brackets that are helping to hold the shelves up.
In the old days we used long tubes, made of left over fabric, filled with whatever cloth scraps or wool remnants we had, and we would put them down where the door meets the floor and also at the base of the windows. Keeps the draft out of the room
I was hoping for a video like this for quit some time now. It's so much fun to see how you live and to see all the smart solutions and things you reused! You really have a lovely, cozy cabin. 😍😍
Beautiful cabin w practical features and adaptations to make everything useful. Drone footage is gorgeous as always. The cabin tour was most appreciated. Susan
It seems like an amazing and picture perfect life but I know there are hardships especially in the winter. But it still does still seem like a dream.:)
Kalle: Awesome place. Love it. Your metal grid for hanging lights looks like part of farm fencing we might call a "cattle panel" essentially used for animal enclosures. Thanks for this tour!
