Cats and Dogs get loadsa views. i have some house plants and at times a few ladybugs for pets :)
We call it a wood burning stove. My Grandmother had one. They are not so common now and have been replaced with gas or electric stoves. REALLY enjoyed this cooking video . . . more, please!
I'm SO pleased to see you train your pups tp"Wait". It's really so important now that you have a child coming. Good Manners are always appreciated b/c the pups should never be allowed to just grab any food they smell/see.
I happened upon your video in my RU-vid feed and have become obsessed with them. I live in the USA on the east coast. Everything goes a thousand miles an hour. Your videos bring to my crazy world a sense of peace and beauty in a simple life. A simpler life is all I long for as I downsize my life. Children are grown and on their own. I want to create memories and experiences for my children and grand children not the consumerism that is present in every part of American life.
The main thing I did differently when cooking with my wood stove is this. If you're going to make a fire, bake something at least once a day. Here in Southern USA I made biscuits, corn2bread or smaller white2bread sandwich rolls. Or apple crisp, brownies ( infrequently) spice cake, and my husband made a killer molasses pie with raisins. We often did a mostly veggie stew with spoond7mplings on top put some potatoes or sweet-potato in the oven when you start the fire, and your tea or coffee on as well as dishwater to heat.. I also had a dish pan for any hand laundry ( like undies. To soak in. Let it sit in the warm water till you come in for. The night and they're done. Rinsed and line dried behind the stove after dinner, and. We don' need no steenkiin maytag! We gotta a dunrite!!
I made the beef patties and potatoes for dinner last night. I also made the basil garlic butter and put it on top of the beef patty and potatoes. The basil garlic butter really elevated the beef and potatoes. I felt like I was eating dinner made at a restaurant. I will try your breakfast and lunch recipes later this week. Thanks Kalle for sharing these recipes. What is ordinary food to you in Sweden is exotic to those us from other countries.
Kalle your work is admirable. The work you've done with your cabin; the resilience and defiance; the beautiful editing... I accidentally stumbled upon your work. may I suggest that you publish the temperature in all the videos? It would be helpful to viewers who cannot always automatically grasp the conditions under which you and Christine live! Lots of love to you wonderful people! ❤
My husband is Polish . He has always been telling me about this grated carrot and onion dish his mother always made as a side dish for special occasions. She didn't leave the recipe in her books ( although she may have , a lot were written in Polish which I couldn't read ). I tried this for him and he loved it . He said it was the closest he had come to having it again. It's now a family favourite. Thank you .
Really cool and cozy video ! I love the fact that your channel is a peacefull and safe place for a lot of us... hope you and your familly have a great day !
Sunday, October 23, 2022 Wow, for living in a cabin, you and Christine certainly eat well! 😀 I admire all the effort you put into your ingredients and cooking. 🧄 🫑 🧀 🥓 🧆 🍴 ☕ In The United States, we call it - a wood burning stove.
Hello Kalle. Thank you for the "delicious" video. Now I'm hungry 😉 I'm so glad to have found your channel. You have such a wonderful, positive energy! It feels so good to hear and see you and Christine. Greetings from Germany to the gorgeous North of Sweden 🙂
If you use the back side of the knife while scraping things from the cutting board it won't get blunt so quickly :) More cooking videos, please! I love the simplicity of them
I never respond but your video on being unhappy then realizing why. That we don’t take a moment to be grateful touched to profoundly. I want to thank you for being brave and vulnerable enough to share that. You are helping so many people. Thank you again.
Man, that Morotsgryta looks amazing! Stoked to try it out someday. Eggs in the morning are awesome. Eating that right now, with self-foraged chanterelles, over toasted bread!
Many thanks Kalle -- I have been looking forward to "Cooking with Kalle" for some time. You are a good instructor. Clear steps, good pace, printed words on the screen help, super visuals, plus your charming self: terrific ingredients for a practical, helpful, and interesting video. Healthy meals -- and I liked the way you added greens on top to please the eye (yes?). Well done Kalle. Please do "Cooking with Kalle" again. Your appreciative friend Steve from Oregon, USA.
Hi Kalle, I showed your dinner preparation of your special burgers to my husband today. He cooked them right away and they taste awesome!!! Thank you so much for sharing your recipes!!!
Ahhhhhh, Kalle, such a delicious video! Starting with breakfast, you had me at "bacon"! 😋 Seeing Tuss and Nala so disciplined; eager tho they were for that meaty delicacy. Lucky pups! Everything looked so delectable...going to try some of those recipe ideas myself. Thank you so much for sharing your "meal-day"! 😊
Ooh food inspiration, thank you so much for showing us a food day in your life - love those kind of videos! And with the cozy cabin and fire stove, so idyllic and dreamy. 😍
Kalle, I found this so calming and relaxing at a time when my life is neither, so it was a blessing, thank you. I also appreciate you teaching us some Swedish, I love hearing your language.
Thank you so much for sharing Kalle and what a lovely cosy and relaxing video! I am going to make AND eat these recipes this week (except for the dog food that is 😉) and think of the four of you ❤Much love and smaklig malted!
The bacon and mushrooms had my mouth watering! That is one of my favourite combinations. I want to try all of your recipes. Everything looked so tasty! Thanks so much for sharing some of your recipes with us!
I normally don't follow recipes because I prefer simple meals but this video really inspired me. So I've just made the carrot stew pasta for lunch and it is absolutely delicious! Very light and tasty and so different from italian pasta recipes. Loved the garlic-veggie taste. I'm definitely going to add it to my favourites. Thanks so much for sharing!
Thanks for the recipes, I`ll definitely try the Morotsgryta as I am vegan. In Germany we call your cooking stove "Küchenhexe" which translates to "kitchen-witch" 😀
I'm definitely trying the last one. I've eaten those all my life (we call them Kufteta in Bulgaria) but I've never seen a version with mixed in feta cheese and mushrooms. Thanks for sharing!
Looks delicious! I got some ideas for my family meals from this. I liked how you also told us the Swedish words for some of the foods/items you were using. The dogs were so excited for that hunk of elk meat! 😊 Appreciate all you do! ♥️🌲
I also have the same breakfast every day ☺️ I love that, as I'm not a morning person, so I don't want to think and plan too much early in the day. Your food looks so delicious 😍
From a mental health, and blood sugar perspective, it really is a great way to begin the day. Solid proteins, of eggs and pork, good fat, if the pork is regeneratively raised, and all those minerals and vitamins from the kale and shrooms. This is a Super Hero breakfast.
Beautiful video! I eat similarly to you, but these are nice variations on what I do, so I'm definitely going to try your recipes. Thank you for filming your meals - I love how the camera did a nice job of changing focus when you held the plate up close. Nice!
I love this video. I usually fast forward on other cooking videos because they take too long to just cut something up. Your timing is great on how much time you allow for cutting up the veggies or stirring. It's the perfect amount of time. I love all of your videos. Thank you!
These videos are so fun to watch, just the beauty of Sweden’s Forrest’s alone magical, but you also encourage people to follow dreams. I lived in Danmark when I was three,so I do enjoy seeing this though it is certainly more rural than my home maybe fifteen kilometers from København.
Great lifestyle, greqt cooking. 😊So simple and so so healthy. I love your video's. Always something new and interesting to find out and yet helps calming the mood.
Just discovered your video's this weekend and subbed immediately. I love the way you guys stand in life. It's such a breath of fresh air in this society which is getting more selfish every day. Very inspiring!
Hi there from England , both my husband and l love watching your videos and this one is brilliant , we watched it have our morning coffee , you seem so relaxed in the kitchen both of us could follow all your instructions perfectly , method in my watching with my husband l do hope some of your ease at cooking will rub of on him , maybe !! your way of life seems to fit you and Christine so well and your dogs are so amazing ....our regards to you both stay well and happy .....
Thank you Kalle the dishes look amazing. I was watching and longing to smell them cooking. I imagine the aroma filling the cabin like when I was a child (a very long time ago) and vent hoods where not a thing. Thanks for the memory and for sharing your life with us.
Do you do all the cooking? All 3 meals looked delicious. Love the dogs, trained so well to sit and wait for the comand before eating. Love your kitchen area, and the stove(really cool). Plus I love the wood burning stove that heats the house. Really great idea l On the pipe going up the chimmeny. Plus the potted herbs outside front door. Live your channel
I love how calm you are in your approach to basically anything. Never in a hurry, no rush, just doing your thing. I wish I know how to do it too. My mind is always on the next thing, never rests. Teach me how to be more present.
My grandparents lived in a very rural area in southern Kentucky and they lived like this when I was a child which was almost 70 years ago. They used wood stoves for heat and my grandmother cooked on a wood stove . This is not a glamorous lifestyle. This is a lifestyle that involves a huge amount of very hard work. They never had indoor plumbing or central heat . They had a huge garden each year and canned a lot of food . They had chickens and cows and pigs. This is hard work !
Wonderful, exactly my way of cooking! Add to the back part of stove a large pot of rices, barley, lentils and after simmering you have quite the filling for breakfast, I add 1/2 cup to pan , warm then cook with eggs.
Your videos are so relaxing. Your meals look awesome. I may try the carrot recipe. Thanks for sharing this video with us. Your channel is amazing. I really hope you have more cooking videos in the future.
Did you consider using a small portable induction stove? Far more efficient in terms of energy usage when you don't need to or want to heat up the cabin. Also faster and you can use your iron skillets on it. I've had my single burner portable for about five years now, it was about $25 and it still works as well as new. I think they even sell them at IKEA these days. All the best
I don't know why it was so comforting to watch you cook. The ambiance of your house, you, the way you present this, the cooking, the skillet, the butter, mushrooms...boiled potato...lol...everything calmed my nerves down. I could have watched you eating it too. LOL! I am so in awe of simple-living youtubers because you guys can make something I don't like doing (cooking) look totally relaxing and enticing. 🤣I really don't enjoy cooking. But now I want to go buy mushrooms and fry them in butter in an iron skillet. 😂
Soooo satisfying very relaxing to watch. I did notice all the small details and maybe would not have appreciated them as much if I hadn't listened to your whole podcast where you mentioned many times how much work you put into the littlest things I will definitely appreciate the details more in everyone's videos thanks to you.
I'm not sure about other places, but in America we call that a wood burning stove or a wood stove. I grew up on the west coast in the Oregon rainforest and that's what we used for heat, but we didn't cook on one unless our power went out in bad weather. I don't have one in my home now, I use a natural gas furnace and/or gas fireplaces.
