I watched that battle at least 3 more times in the past 15 hours and 40 2nd rd wasnt a choke like you said, it was a long stumble and she finished the rd. 40 material was better the first 2 rds regardless the stumble. So now i got 40 with a 30 😂💯
I feel that. I just dubbed the whole round since not only did she choke twice after bringing the whole thing back it was kinda trash in general. I wish 40 would’ve rapped the 3rd put the beats on Yoshi afterwards lol like immediately after lol

Nothing but facts here bro. Battle rap is in its underdog era. I honestly think 40 is tired of this routine. Feels like the Casey Jay battle all over again. She 30d her and no one cared. It didn’t do anything for her. In fact you started seeing Casey get booked more and more. I think she literally only battled Yoshi for the bag. I’ve never even seen her doing the phone thing before in a battle. The more i think of it the I’m starting think she had her phone out to purposely distract Yoshi and get under her skin. She wasn’t thinking bout what the fans wanted to see or how the footage would look. I think she was looking for one of those nasty sort of wins when someone gets 30d and disrespect them the whole time type shit. I think she got caught up too much in the antics and the way she feels about her and not enough on prep. Cuz it seemed like she had the right material for it but she couldn’t put on a proper performance for the fans to enjoy. The most aggravating thing is Yoshi going on a sympathy tour getting her hand held by all these bloggers. Youre absolutely right. 40 was trippin. The only females she needed to clear was yoshi and coffee then beat another top guy and maybe a one rounder and she would of won woty for this year no debate. Then she could of retired 😔. shutting up everyone would have been legendary. Damdddd 40.

If this was a body the only people who would care is team 40 bro. The rest of the culture would just say they expected if they even talk about it at all. And the guys seems to get her in her bag too.
I think stumbling is just tripping over your words or getting tongue-twisted but not stopping for more than a couple seconds. I think stopping for more than, say, five seconds is a choke. A choke of course severely costs a battler, especially when the opponent has a clean delivery in that round. It usually costs the choking rapper that round, even if their bars are slightly better. BUT if that battler has only one choke lasting no more than around 10 seconds and has more haymakers and MUCH more clever wordplay, I feel that MC still won the round. They’d have to leave Earth though to make up for the choke. I know that’s not the popular viewpoint, which I understand, but that’s how I see it.
I’m kinda with you on that. First off. Unlike some other fans I really don’t want either person to choke. But I came to battle rap for bars. That’s the part I find the most entertaining. I like words and wit. I cannot trick my brain to say someone won a round when i didn’t prefer their material that they spit. If the other person chokes/stumbles in the beginning of the round then raps the whole round straight through yes it’s cringey and disappointing but I’m not gonna just erase everything that was said because of what happened for 10 seconds. If that’s the case we aren’t basing this off of raps anymore. We’re basing this off of everything else that is secondary. No matter how much people like all the other things that go on in battle rap “rap” is still the main part of the sport .
40’s my favorite female battle rapper, so I’m always rooting for her to be completely prepared. I try my best to be objective, so I gotta say the bar-reading on the phone is cringey. But if there _must_ be a choice b/w choking and looking over the material during the battle, I’ll take the latter. 🤷🏽♂️ Other than that, I can’t stand battlers talking while their opponents are rapping. So I don’t give 40 *or* Yoshi any passes for that. I can’t stand unprofessional conduct. As for messing up the battle, causing it to end w/o 40 spitting her 3rd, that’s Yoshi’s fault. 40 seems to be getting the brunt of the criticism though, and that’s crazy to me. Yoshi’s the one who commited the violent act of throwing her water bottle at 40. Who does that?! I would like for 40 to have at least rhymed enough in the 3rd to beat Yoshi’s partial verse, where she repeatedly choked in the same spot. I’m sure she could’ve easily done that. But it’s understandable if she didn’t want to rap anymore after what Yoshi did.
That’s what’s so disappointing about this whole situation. Without the cringe and without not being completely prepared this battle was a walk in the park for 40. Her ceiling is way higher than Yoshis we saw that out the gate in the first. Like 40 at 50% with clean rounds walks a Yoshi g on a 100%. They always gonna pin the blame on 40 as much as possible because Yoshi plays victim all day and 40 is automatically held to a higher standard. That’s the part i don’t like. You can never say her bars or material is wack which is what we are all supposed to be here for so people try to attack literally everything else that has nothing to do with that.
