The Ducks Unlimited terracing project was recently constructed behind the 40 Arpent Wetlands Observatory near Bayou Bienvenue. More than 30,000 linear feet of earthen terraces was constructed to reduce wind and wave action, improve nursery habitat for fisheries and waterfowl and reduce erosion of adjacent marshes.
This project was made possible by many people including local partners, St. Bernard Parish Government, The Meraux Foundation and Valero.
