@@instantkarma5486 Deathwing is boring as hell. There is nothing to do but endlessly kill simple-minded enemies. Then it's like running a marathon through the Hulk. I'm a huge 40K fan, and I was severely disappointed.

there's usually invaluable lost technology inside, which is (arguably) worth the cost of sending in teams of terminators to investigate.

some space hulks are massive rivaling small moon or asteroid size. blowing it up required very heavy firepower like nova cannon or exterminatus level weapons. not ideal when counting its sometimes functional void shield, very thick hulls etc

well... i don't think there's anything left to recover part from precious artifacts, datas, things like that. They are more like a rusted rotten warp world at this point

If it contained enuff mechanical parts or was easy enuff to move it may be scrapped but not rebuilt as it world be to Much cost

The Chaos Gods play with the minds of their targets (just read this like devils telling people to do bad things), the Tyranid's soldiers (to which the Genestealers are one type) don't really "think" like we do; instead they are directed by the Hive Mind. Since the Hive Mind doesn't seem to show up on Chaos' radar as corruptible, all the minion creatures have a free pass thru the warp if they should be caught in it. The Tyranid fleets also don't use Warp travel, so they stay out of Chaos' way in that regard too.

HalfBreedMix I mean the Genestealer infested Hulks which are in the warp. I know how Tyranids travel through space and all but what is about Genestealers on their own?

Der deutsche Adler From what I remember, some Tyranid creatures have individual thought abilities and can operate ahead of the fleet (like the Lictor), so you would think they could be corrupted,,,,,,,,,but they don't seem to be affected. Maybe Chaos can only corrupt creatures that are smarter than Orks. Well if anything this should drive home just how scary the Nids are !

Honestly it's probably just trying to find pictures that show what they're talking about, they aren't always able to find exact matches. Doesn't make their information any more or less accurate.

Well many ways, they kinda "fell into it" somehow, you can use your imagination. For example: A ships Gellar field failure during warp travel, demons pouring in infesting ship and dropped out of warp, or its warp engine exploded or acts weirds somehow and this creates small warp hole which sucks ship into warp, or random Warp storm sucks up space ship debris, or maybe chaos gods shenanigans.

Probably Agriworlds close to Terra or civilized world near a Space Marine chapter homeworld(Ultramar is one such example with their ultra smurf overlords). Nocturnal with the space geckos works too if you are a chapter serf.

It seems like most space hulks are one BIG ship.

Imagine a building of 30+ levels, rectangular, shiplike. Since it is exoatmospheric it has no requirement for being streamlined. Every image I have of them resembles the child of a castle, London in the 1800s, and a large cargo ship.

- Nobody built it, they're mish mash of older ships of differents races or whatever thatdrifted through the warp and fused together - They are dead, turned to chaos, replaced by xenos, infested by tyranids or worse... - Well they kinda "fell into it" somehow, use your imagination. A fail mass warp jump where the Geller field turns off. Old wreckeges caught up by a warp storm... etc that kind of thing. For the traveling, let's just say they drifted in the warp and the warp spitted them out one day. There could be orks inside that founded a way to warp jump, chaos deamons who use it with unholy technology, or just a dead wreckage full of tyranids, etc... Doesn't mean they can warp back in, it all depends who's inside.
