MOST humans on an ork held world whom are still alive are treated like slightly more cunning gretchin, among humans they tend to develop the same anarchistic "might makes right " mentality as the orks, and so the biggest and strongest humans tend to become tribal leaders among themselves. permanant settlements are too at risk of raids by bored orks with nothing better to do, and so human populations tend to be nomadic and usually have a strong warrior tradition to fend off bands of orks looking for a fight and feral tribes. most orks not on an immediate warpath will not mind humans as a whole, though if your stupid enough to let your guard down around one alone they will probably bash you on the head and sell you to a runtherder, some particularly desperate Nobz, ones who have fallen on hard times or simply need more meat to throw at their rivals, have been known to hire on humans as stand-in warriors, equipping them with whatever weapons are to hand. humans on industrial worlds owned by orks tend to be factory workers, and have to see to their own safety as mekk-boyz disregard for it is legendary, they tend to anchient factories that once made anything from leman russ chassis to soap, witch now make looted wagon chassis and ammo. constantly at risk of death by anything from being shoved into a furnace or over a railing by an angry gretchin, to being shot at or forced into the gears of machinery by bored ork overseers, human populations on these worlds tend to quickly be outstripped by gretchin due to sheer attrition, and so tend to be small but extremely hardened by violence.
Waylon Savage how about an Eldar maiden world or slaneeshi daemon world but I suppose it depends on who does the tentacling cos it always better to give than receive. lol
Waylon Savage no, they are not, unless you like a fake democracy that punishes any one that is not like the rest, and humans are servernt races in the tau, so you are a slave with a bigger cage, its not happy time, no faction in 40k are and the tau aint nice xenos exeption.
The Artist Of War objectively: you have food, you have shelter, you live on an equal level with the tau (excluding the ethereals) aside from humans who are being dumb and hard headed their is no crime or terrorism. Anecdotally: no commissar or cultist or under hive crime boss is going to kill you for looking at them the wrong way. Pulse they don't make the humans fight if they don't want to. They are the only worlds where a human can say he is free to not fight and die for whomever tells him too.
if I were in Warhammer 40k, I'd be an ork oddboy.... a brewboy haha. An ork world sounds like a party, pub crawl with intermittent ass whippings, and aimless hyperviolence. I can get down with that.
Orks are the comic relief of 40k. They never have any actual effect on the galaxy. If they win a series of battles somewhere, they are crushed somewehere else.
Oh they have an effect all right. Orks have a gestalt hive mind, able to bend the universe and the laws of physics and probability around them, such that whatever they want to happen will happen, so long as they believe it should. And what do orks want more than anything else? A good fight. A long fight. A proper fight. And in the Grim Darkness of the 42nd Millennium, there is only WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!
Horus Heresy was kind of a big deal, so was the Fall of The Eldar. Or when the Tyranids made themselves known by barging in with their hive fleets. But Orks are just clumsy, hilarious idiots. Sure they can occasionally beat entire organized armies, but eh.
Arku Deffboss. Ork the size of a planet. Shows up and wrecks shit. The Beast. An Ork Warboss so massive, leading a Waagh! so fuckhuge that it required the creation of the Inquisitorial Deathwatch to stop. And he founded the Ork klanz. Mag Uruk Thraka, the Beast of Armageddon, the chosen of the Ork gods, who is currently attempting to unite ALL of the Orks to create the largest Waagh! ever, and take over the galaxy. Abaddon wishes he was half the leader. Tuska Daemon-Killa, an Ork so good at stompin demons, that Khorne himself has transported him and his Waagh! to the footsteps of his brass fortress, to lay eternal seige and kill demons forever, living and fighting and dying for eternity. The Ork equivalent of heaven. This is an Ork so good at warfare, he made Khorne himself smile. And that's supposed to be impossible.
Big alien teeth are also valuable, not just for their size, but because they make nice trophies. Not the puny races like humans, eldar, or tau, but the Tyranids? Kroot? Big, shiny teef, could get a week's supply of mushroom vodka and squig steak with one of those.
YA GIT! DERE SUMFIN ZOGGIN YER BRAIN?! ORKSES FIGHT N FIGHT TILL DERE AIN'T NO FIGHTIN NO MORE, DEN DEY FIGHT SUM MORE!! IFF DERE AIN'T FIGHTIN, DEN IT AIN'T *ORKZ!!!* WAAAAAAGGGGGHHH!!!!!
If i were living on an ork world as an ork i would be riding around in my favorite red speeda or battle wagon screeching and laughing like a maniac. DAT LADZ LOVIN IT!
Hey Gersh and Sound, question: The imperium and the space marines all believe in finding a better life for all mankind, and the Tau believe in the greater good for all, so what do you think would happen if the imperium and tau joined up and worked together? From sakife
in the lore of warhammer 40k if the imperium and tau were to join forces they would be unstoppable. oh you have to type in question if you want them to answer you
_"The imperium and the space marines all believe in finding a better life for all mankind"_ -> They don't. The Imperium is just trying to survive, within the limits of its doctrine. They don't care about the quality of life of individual people, and at the very most they are willing to engage in temporary truces with other races in order to focus on a greater common threat, but they will never engage in a long term alliance with another race. Even if it means their own demise.
Nice vid! But what i wanted to know more about is ork culture, how they think, what their hierarchy looks like, their technology aspects, physiology and so on Orks are so unique there, that there is a lot to cover
No, no, no, no, no, youngling, I am an original Rogue Trader. This video is for plonkers. I mean the kid's just ripped bits off the internet and he say's stuff like "Willy" instead of "Wily" which is pronounced "Why-Lee." The best insights into overall Orky culture are "Ere we go," the first Codex, and the earlier, "Waaagh Da Orks." There was some stuff in the old White Dwarfs, but these two were superb as they had ironed out Orky culture a lot more. "Freebooterz" is another important Ork supplement. Gorka Morka is/was slightly different; because, these Orks are stranded and cut off from the Galaxy. Go to Scribd and download them all. The best modern Ork Codex is the fourth. It retains the humour, sadly since then Ork's have become more serious, posey, and a lot of the old English humour they had has been watered down. Also, there's a lot of great stuff in the older books that I use as background information. For example, Ork's don't bother enslaving humans that often. Grot's are more efficient, less inclined to rebel and hardened to Orky life. In the old lore, you will find Ork's will go up to a planet, check if they are pussies or not then demand tribute in the form of wargear, etc. If they aren't pussies then it's party on! Where Gorka Morka was good, was exploring Ork influence on a human minority. It's a shame the Ork's in today's shallow 40k don't have some crazy arse humans following them around. In the old day's Ogryns, human merc's and guard renegades could be allied attachments. Moreover, the funny stuff about Stormboyz becoming Khornite's is interesting.
All day every day for eternity. They die every day but are risen back to fight his chosen. The better part is they are risen with more and more every time, ensuring that one day, they will win.
Nice video and thnak you for giving us so much knolege in to the W40k univers.So here are a few suggestions: Commisars - role,training(indoctrination),ranks,famous individuals,arnaments(equipment and weapon kits); Impirial Guard Regiments - Commans structure, types (infintry,armore,artilery), what is a few regiments of IG called and their command structure,what is the standert equipment ishued to the common infentryman;
Pyroskies I would say just collect a lot of boyz. But just a tip from an ork player they are a bit hard to play with and require a lot of unit s to play
I'm not an ork player, however I do like em. Imagine if humans could WAGHH. and breed by basically taking a dump. Lol and orks don't back down. Didn't one take a WAGHH into the eye of terror, just to pick a fight? I mean you gotta respect that.
@@willatronblue4835 imagine if tuska and his WAAGH ever made it back out. Not that they would want to. But they'd be pretty big, and plenty pissed. Just got myself up that lore. Ty my dude. I think its funny, the imperial navy was like, hell, if they want to go in there let em in, what's the worst that could happen.
@@willatronblue4835 fucking eh huh. Imagine if the god who uses em as entertainment is doing it just for that purpose. Eventually letting a WAAGH of really big really pissed off orks back thru the eye. As the vanguard for the next black crusade. They would obviously have to wait a few so the orks attacked in the proper direction. But there is nothing like a highly motivated ork battering ram. And once they WAAGH they become highly motivated, i mean they are like a machine gun on a carousel but motivated nonetheless
It seems as though the orcs are largly influenced by scrap human technology. What would be interesting is if there was some eldar planet that had a long term infestation of orks, and the orcs were influenced by eldar technology and scrap. I wonder what that would look like?
I thought the same thing. Thats why i was thinking of a situation where they have no choice but to scavenge what they can.human weapons but found myself using alien ones out of necessity
SO, question.... If Orks are hairless......What're those ponytail things that stick out the back of some of their heads? Are those like...stakes stuck in their head to make'em look *ahem* BIGGUH and BADDAH! ps: Green iz Best....
Good job great information I know there's only so much lore out there and some people don't understand that but but I appreciate your work I once didn't like orks but you made me into a fan waaaagh!!!!!!!!!
What's the imperial regiment that dresses in red and has large black hats that some British regiments wear? They were in the first picture in this video.
Okay I gotta put this out there. I've been watching your videos while I paint and while its good background noise, I don't absorb any of it. Something in your cadence or the tone you use but it feels so dead. It feels like you are a kid reading a section of a textbook in class. For example you put inflections in the wrong place like you are reading it for the first time and don't know when the sentence ends. I'll keep watching, but its a bit difficult to follow sometimes.
does he not realize how painfully obnoxious his forced mannerisms are when speaking..I love what you do just stop trying to say shit a certain way because it's really just kind of annoying...
