The memorial with the father missing was a reminder of what war does to families.

This might be the best collection of old photos I've come across. I appreciate having enough time to read the entire caption and really examine the photo. So many really moving photos. Thank you.

Thank you for your work and so for the longer length video. I know others didn’t like how it was presented prior, but I just paused each photo. It made no difference to me, but I think a lot of people will enjoy this style much more. Much love to all 💕

Couldn't help but notice the steel toe covers on the man's feet in the fed reserve bank vault.. they look medieval.. I wonder how much a bar of gold weighs? as much as a pound of feathers? The slide reminds me of when, in the 80s, our youngest son bonked his head on a bar at the top of a circular slide.. his dad caught him narrating the 2nd time down: ''down the rounda one, bong'. he used a video camera the size of a small radio.. which makes me giggle at the sight of the boom box held by the young man on the bus. Things were so big back then!! Thanks 40 Historical Files.. I don't have a favorite -- they're all interesting!

That slide from the 1970's was cool. I was a kid in the 1970's and never seen one like it.

The one of Marilyn Monroe where she is not being "Marilyn." Sure, it is typically a sexy pose, the flower between the teeth, but she looks more like she's in on the joke. Wonderful. The WW1 memorial was absolutely breathtaking and heart-wrenching. What a powerful statement.

All of these was quite interesting and enjoyable. But one, that black guy segregated from his class. That is so sad n just sickening!! He can have his schooling, but he has to sit in the hall! ☹ But Marilyn Monroe was soooo pretty! Yeah I really enjoyed looking at little bits of people's lives

I do understand that the name Leslie is, in fact, originally considered a boy’s name. But, after finally having a male child born behind 13 older sisters, you’d have thought his folks could have come up with a more “masculine” name! Hopefully, though they named him Leslie, they called him “Quits!”

I so disagree. We do have it much ‘easier’ now, but I look back and think how good they had it then. I would preferred to have lived in these times. Apart from the photo of segregation, that broke my heart.

That WW1 Memorial just went to my heart. One of my college roommates drew 2 pictures of her grandmother, the second one with only her outline, to show her grief at her grandmother's Alzheimer's. These things both shock and say so much.

A stove-sink-fridge combo does not sound like a useful invention. Maybe if they took out the fridge it could work, I don't see how they could keep refrigerated items properly cooled while the stove was in use.
