This episode we continue driving the QAA line towards Birdsville where we officially run out of fuel. We also have a huge disaster in the back of Elsie. And up next is the last obstacle of the trip, BIG RED. Do we get Elsie up? You'll have to watch and see

This series has been an absolute pleasure to watch and relax to. Not artificially dramatic, you had a laugh along the way and the cinematography has been on point as always. I have been watching it at very weird hours looking after Bill and it has been a pleasure. Sam walked in and watched about 20 minutes and her takeaway was “wow, they are really normal and cool. I like them”. Looking forward to catching up properly in Radelaide

We really appreciate the comment Harry! If we can help out with the odd hours of a newborn then the episodes are worth doing ;) although I thought you might be a bit worried that we are swooping in as the bestest camp cooks on the block with the most recent addition of Matt’s camp cooking show? Very keen to catch up in Adelaide and the the drive to Perth.

an old jack absolom trick for your fuel was a cup of metho in the fuel tank before a fill, gets rid of water in fuel and cheaper than fuel doctor. loved your videos. safe travels..

Teddy you have nailed it. Bushfires are confronting. Last October I went to Eastern Victoria and was amazed at regrowth. Keep up the great content. You do great work.

Very cool and well done vid. Typical hi std captures looks so good in HD. Epic big red lessons in low low, and thats how we'd have to do it. ps, my fav moments ..at 9min 12secs ..the quiet of the sunrise you captured.

Unfortunately you’re not allowed (or not supposed) to tow on the madigan, I also think that’s the same for the rest of the Simpson.

That was so enjoyable! Smiled from ear to ear watching Elsie get up and over. I may have missed it but what are the add on arm rests/drink holders you guys are using there? I think my wife would love one for our BJ40. Maybe a good birthday gift for her lol.

They are from “one stone” armrests. It’s actually for a 70 series but with only slight modifications they fit the 40 door. Absolutely love them.

Brilliant - could feel the excitement here in Vic! Matt, I believe you should not be drinking the Fuel Doctor..best put in the Fuel tank :) Maybe there is somewhere outside you can store it (spot in or near the spare?). I think I'm going to find a spot for all vehicle liquids and grease somewhere outside the vehicle...(mine a s/w too). Yours was a valuable lesson!

Great video and trip! Did you actually drive the sandtracks / -dunes in low gear? We were instructed to always use high gear. Not bitching, just want to get ourselves prepared / educated for our next 4WD trip in Australia.

No we were in 4 high pretty much the whole way, only really needed low for big red :)

A great episode. I look forward to next weeks wrap up with all the info... Slow and steady always wins the race. So best you secure that cabinet down and maybe make a box or cabinet for your fuel doctor and other fluids to be stored so they do not move about and why is the fridge not tied down also ??

Fantastic video! Did the spilt fuel doctor cause any problems? I had some leak in the tub of my Hilux and it started to soften the paint.

Yeah it’s such a good way to finish off the trip. I wouldn’t want to do it the other way and start with big red. And to top it off there is a pub after the dune what more could you want!

They were amazing. But it took me a day to really dial them in to make them as comfortable as possible. To be honest they have ruined sitting in other seats now 😅

How where the flys 🪰 I noticed in the vids they seem terrible. As someone that can't stand flys this is the biggest problem I have with outback travel.

I actually didn’t think they were too bad. We have been in places where they were far worse. I didn’t notice them on this trip anyway.
