In this weeks episode we hit leave Mt Dare and head into the Simpson Desert. This year we have decided to do some of the Southern Lines bouncing from the French Line to the Rig Road, then to the WAA and QAA lines. Its all going well until Adrian and Ellen have an absolute disaster in their canopy and we hit another dust storm

Good videography & wonderfully edited. 👌 Quick tip: After each sections of the sand flags have been screwed-in together, add additional anti-rattle security by gaffa/duct taping the connecting ends together. Doing this will prevent them from loosening on the rough and corrugated tracks.

Love this ep guys and the wilderness and how remote it is. I love it how you can pulled over and camp for the night. Yep, thw wind really killing us all especially when you guys in a desert and rooftoptent. It's so windy here in WA too. Didn't expect the temperature drop but it's cold at night n during daytime when it windy. I always love your sunset and sunrise scenes 💛

Great to be able to join your travels by 4wd. Looks like plenty of sand being churned up by the wind. Looking forward to your progress in future adventures

Great content guys showcasing the highlights of this wide brown land and the "ain't all beer 'n' skittles" aspects too. That was probably the best night sky time lapse I've seen (that didn't contain an aurora). Well done. Cheers, dd *EDIT... 2ND best night sky time lapse. Just saw your next vid. Phwoaaar!

Fantastic footage. wind will really test awnings/tents etc you have to experience it to know what works, particularly when trying to sleep. troopy's and vans rule for getting out of the weather.

The Joys of 4x4 remote travel but hey , worth the few hiccups to experience this great region. PS: Actually looked at A247 site and as per last time I was buying a Darche swag, - their price is RRP and with any disc is still more costly after any disc than quite a few places. I am happy to pay a bit more if service is involved but for something that is a simple product covered by manufacturers warranty, cannot justify! That flag can be bought for $105.

Good idea planning to completely empty the canopy as soon as you get home to clean all the sugar still left in it. 'Coz sugar on bare metal if left for a long time can cause rust spots, particularly if it gets wet. BTW was your trip really that devoid of other travellers? Or did you just choose not to show footage of other vehicles when you come across them, particularly from the other direction? I'm curious as I'm doing my first Simpson Desert crossing next year and if I didn't know any better, based on what was shown by all the RU-vid channels that have done the crossing, gives the impression that you don't come across other vehicles during the trip. These channels all chose to show the isolation of the trip (bar one - JAFFFA Adventures), rather than what the real-world reality of the crossing really is like. Great job on the editing. 👍

It depends what linw you are on. The Madigan we saw 2 cars in 3 days while the French line you will see quite a few.

It may be a desert, but it sure isn't lifeless. Amazing what there is when you look closely.

Yeah I think it would be really interesting setting up a night camera with movement sensor to see what you get.

With such a lot of dirt you've now travelled in this series. Would you, as expected suggest having two spare wheels for a vehicle ? or could a single spare suffice ?

Honestly I think its personal preference. Its one of those things that's great to have and extra insurance for the remote trips. The 33's are becoming more common so are 35's. I think with a good plug kit you can get yourself out of a lot of situations and get away with 1.
