I like when he said, "I imagine as detectors get better and deeper that people will go behind me and still find some stuff". Thats pretty spot on! Thanks for a great video, Mark!

Yes, he was right on with that statement, in fact there are several neat things that these guys say in this video. Thanks Eric for watching the video. Stay tuned for many more of these as I will be releasing them all throughout the next week or two!

This is my 54th year detecting. I used to run into Frank and Bob detecting in the Chesapeake Bay area. They had a detector shop. Bob died years ago. Not sure about Frank. Diamonds in the Surf was their popular video. Several Hundred Detectors later, I still get out when I can.

It's a pleasure to meet you as you are one of the Legends as well! The technology sure has changed over the years but no matter what machines we have today your generation got to reap the benefits of being the first detectors on the ground in most areas. We are all just coming in behind you guys looking for the leftovers. I have had a lot of machines as well over the last 38 years but there are many that I feel like using that our vintage machines even though we have these new technologies. It's just nice to be able to relive the old days on the older machines. Good to hear you're still getting out after 54 years of detecting and it gives me inspiration! Thank you for watching the video and for your comment! Stay tuned as I have many more videos from not only Frank and Jim but others from the same era. I will be releasing these videos over the next week or two

I like how nice and neat they are with their recoveries. Some people these days should watch this! Great stuff Mark. Treasure Search was also a magazine, wasn't it? Cheers! I see Bounty Hunter, Red Baron and Garrett detectors. Glad to see one of the brands is still around.

Yes that's a good point Bill. They were very professional and good etiquette. They represent the hobby very well. I have about 10 or 11 more of these videos to release over the next couple weeks they are all absolutely incredible and fun to watch and I feel like they were lost treasures before I had them converted to digital and remastered. Hope all is well with you, Merry Christmas dude!!

Great old video, these guys could very well be alive, I would put them at about 80 ish or more. Great detail to putting things back where they found it with the grass plugs and getting permissions. All the plaid flannels shirts never go out of style

I think I found/read that both Frank Carter and Bob Trevillian have passed. But your right some of the others could still be alive. I have many more of these coming in the next few weeks. Hope you will subscribe so you can see some more. I also liked how good their detecting etiquette was. Thank you for the view and comment!

Must of had perfect eye sight no pinpointers. Lol 😂.
@BrassMedic
@BrassMedic 9 месяцев назад
I don't remember seeing pinpointers really being used until around 1997 or so. Whites Bullseye was the first one I saw. But back in 1983 we all used coin probes made of brass. Thanks for the view and comment!

Yeah, your probably right! These old videos were kind of big productions back in the day. I guess pull tabs didn't make the cut! Thanks for the view and comment!
