So...can you tell us what the plans are to allow Australians to access MotorTrend streaming? Been waiting a few years since Australia was geoblocked, dearly like to know how to access it to watch a lot of favourite content. Thanks 🙂

first car i ever drove was a 63 falcon, three on the tree straight 6. 1973 i was 4 years old, my mother would sit me onner lap and let me steer and shift. by 12 i was driving it alone. the last 2 half years of high school in the mid 80s, i drove that Falcon. my grandfather bought it new, when i was a kid he let my mother drive it because we didn't have a car, being we were poor af, dad didn't pay child support back in the 70s or ever. the thing is though, the grandfather was my dad's dad, not my mother's dad.. lol i never changed it, i just gave it a valve job, re-ringed it and maintenance, clutch, brakes. it never broke down ever. thank u for this episode, brought back some good memories.

considering there's a straight axle in it, there's probably clearance for a Ford front sump oil pan.
@mikewillett5076

@@jerryparks6123. I've always primarily been a Chevy guy, but I agree that it should have a Ford engine. As for which is better, the 289s bigger bore can fit a little bigger valve but the 283 is an overall beefier motor with a still great bore to stroke for revving. (Just don't use the early rods!)

Hi guys , another old falcon guy here ,I had a 1963 1/2 sprint for about 35 years and loved it . Idk if you noticed it , it looks like the rear wheel fenders have been re-flared and from the looks they did a first class job , I did the same to mine to give it that factory vibe , took me over a week all metal no bondo . Looks like a fun project , oh and NO COMMENT about the engine selection as I did not want to get kick off of u-tube lol

This truck was a daily driver. I drove it many miles and a fair amount of distance at times. The transmission linkage is a boo boo. That can and should be made right. With the Bridgestone tires I had good control of the truck. Yes it rode a little rough, but with the shocks on the front helped alot. Was not setup to be a drag racer, but on the freeway I could cruse all day at low rpm. Could get triple figures speed in 3rd, no sweat!!! Then their was 4th. Some of the stories I could tell. They make me shake my head.

Can't believe i let my felt covered Hurst T handle get away. That was Years ago, like 30+ years ago. I didn't really want to get rid of it but traded for an Oldsmobile Hurst dual gate shifter only, no console. If perfect originality didn't matter than a standard console could be converted to accept the dual gate since it was a factory option in my 70 442. Still tho, that T handle would have been a crowning touch to go with... Oh wait I don't have a manual trans muscle car currently...but I do still have my 70. Wonder if that new tremec tranny is less than a million dollars? Maybe I'll dump the bang shift reverse manual th400 and itty bitty converter and go ahead and put that third pedal in... I'm liking the idea!

I had a '59 and it was built on a Galaxie (bigger) chassis. 390 ci w/cast iron Torqueflight. It was unmatched on CA freeways from 50-70 mph. No love for 289's or 292's? I'd bet a well tuned 289 would make that mini-ranchero scream.
@neil6212
@neil6212 Год назад
What a great resurrection! I have seen a lot of the "mini Rancheros, as the Phone Company had a mess of them, and they could be bought used for a song. All that aside, why not install a small block FORD in it? The engine compartment was actually designed for it, as a 260 (maybe a 289) was available with 4 speed from the factory in '64. I had a friend at the time who bought a new '64 Falcon convertible, which was so equipped. You could also put the original style front suspension in, making it a bunch safer and better handling.
