Germany’s T+A began its line of Criterion speakers in the early 1980s. As founder Siegfried “Siggi” Amft explains in this video, the company began with two models, the TMR 70 and TMR 100. Shortly after, the company released the TMR 160, which wound up being the company’s most successful-selling speaker ever, with more than 11,000 units sold. Over the next 40 years, the company followed the Criterion TMR speakers up with many several other series of Criterion models.
On February 27, 2024, the company released the newest Criterion model: the S 230. Like all Criterion models before it, this one features transmission-line bass loading and numerous other technically advanced features.
