Up in the woods I found a Tigercat getting a new engine whilst I got to service a 160 high track full hydraulic oil change plus a couple of in expected bits that could have caused a lot of trouble !

I wish there was a way (or maybe there is) to completely drain out all the hydraulic oil if maybe the arm was resting up high on something solid like a good sturdy tree or wall and there was a low drain plug by a track motor or the centre joint and let gravity do the work. Especially when a machine is using a hammer constantly throughout its working life it'd be good to get every Last drop of used oil out so as to reduce contamination of the new stuff..

@alisdiggerdiary Год назад
Yea I know in the past when I’ve changed normal hyd oil to biodegradable hyd oil your never going to get all the oil out apparently it only takes 10% of normal hydraulic oil to make bio oil a waste of time and if a system takes 150L it only takes 15L which would easily sit in the valve chest and pipes makes it a pointless exercise my opinion is a machine needs to be built with bio oil from the start for it to be worthwhile
@jimlondon1
@jimlondon1 Год назад
@@alisdiggerdiary very true. I've had to do oil changes from normal to bio before. Unless its changed like 5 or 6 times which is seriously expensive, you'll never get it all out.

I am always scared shtless when i take the tank lid off because i fear the spring falls down there😂 even more scary to put the heavy lid back in place👍👌 its even worse with the slimmer spring that atleast the dx300 has.

So if the oil he used wasn’t Doosan does that mean it’s now on a 2000hour cycle?
@alisdiggerdiary
@alisdiggerdiary Год назад
No the majority will be Doosan oil it’ll have just been topped up no drama the oil on it wasn’t bad you normally have a burnt smell about it and it’s like tap water when it’s spent if that makes sense
@anthonyshaw7251
@anthonyshaw7251 Год назад
@@alisdiggerdiary you can get standard oil (multi grades 32, 46, 68 100 etc) & a spec that is HVI, (same grades etc), but keeps the viscosity the same no matter what the temperature.

Be a nice touch if the hire companies and heavy plant contractors slipped you a couple of quid for putting their names and phone numbers all over the internet. I'm guessing that they put their names and phone numbers all over the outside of the machines to advertise themselves. With you showing the machines on you tube their coverage is vastly bigger than it would be to passing traffic which was their previous best bet.

No not at all I could take you to other high tracks doing the same job with twice those hours only had filters

@alisdiggerdiary
@alisdiggerdiary Год назад
Yea just pick up your phone hit video hold it landscape and hit record the editing app I use is called splice really easy to use and then I use an app called Canva to make the thumb nail if you’ve already got a RU-vid account there is a plus button in the middle of the screen hit that and upload your video I watched a few RU-vid videos on how to do it that helps so would recommend that
