401 - Raising a Pokemon to Level 100 Without Rematching the Same Trainer Twice!! Level 100 Gauntlet! 

The Vs. Seeker should be in every game.

You should do a level 100 gauntlet where you train a pokémon only through gym leaders (**NOT** the trainers that are in gyms, just the gym leaders themselves), trading it into new games to keep going, so it would have to be a pokemon in as many games as possible. Elite Four and Champions also count as battles you can do.

I know this video is 5 years old, but watching it gave me goose bumps. Diamond was my very first pokemon game, it was mine. I remember feeling happy and sleepy when listening to the pokemon center's night theme, it was part of one of my favorite birthdays. And near snowpoint city I was leveling up my pokemon and ran into my very first shiny, a machoke. And after finally beating Cynthia, going to the island where you could bring your gameboy advanced pokemon over was so cool! Of course, it was a few years until I got my first pokemon gb game (I think it was Emerald? Or firered?) Anyways, that's all. Just a nice trip down memory lane. ^^

My first shiny ever was in Diamond, I was exploring the area around the pal park, and randomly got a full odds skuntank shiny. I freaked out and master balled it.

ok so sometime in the middle of my ultra sun playthrough i decided i was gonna name the first shiny pokemon i ever caught lettuce, no exceptions. today is the day i found lettuce while watching this video i found my first shiny pokemon ever Lettuce, the female yanmega, caught in the ultra space wilds on april 2nd, 2019, at around 8:50 pm

Wow, I wish I still had my first Diamond! Mine unfortunately corrupted, luckily I only lost two full odds shinies and a bunch of chained ones, because a couple years before the corruption, I transferred all my shinies to my X version when it was still free, so I didn't lose my first shiny ever, a Golbat!

I feel exactly the same as you about gen4! It was my first time to witness the launch of a Pokemon game and I somehow spent 500 hours exploring everything!

Loved everything about this video! As you were, I was sooo excited for D/P as it was the first time I was into Pokemon when a new game/region was coming out. I would check Pokemon's website everyday to see if any new Pokemon were released. I still have my very first Pearl file from May 2007 and have NEVER even put my Torterra in the P.C. no matter what. Hopefully the file never corrupts.

5:10 I had a similar HGSS guide book after getting HS as my second Pokemon game after Pearl. Funny how the style of those books were so similar. My HGSS guide book had the Hoothoot page eaten by a cat and the cover is missing

I wish I could go back in time as a kid and play diamond pearl and platinum again for the first time, those were the days back when I’d spend hours and hours trying to figure something out like how to interact with the ghosts in the old chateau, I now know you can’t but little me was going to keep trying and trying

The vs seeker was always my favorite key item, especially in fire red. I think it’s one island. The one that had the hot spring is a perfect spot to train. Running in and out to heal from the hot spring gives you just enough steps to recharge the seeker, and then there is like 5-6 higher level trainers that you can just keep grinding on

This is so late, but this video just reminds me how much D/P/P and gen. 4 mean to me. My original favorite was gen. 3, but then Diamond and Pearl came out, and I fell in love. Even back when they were brand new, they had this nostalgic feeling to them, making me feel very cozy and safe, if that makes sense. On top of that, my favorite Pokémon ever is from Sinnoh: Lucario. I only recently realized just how much these games mean to me, and how much of an impact they made on me playing them. By far, my favorite Pokémon games in the franchise.

Pokemon Diamond was my first proper game as well, and my proper introduction into the core Pokemon games, mainly saying that as I was first introduced to Pokemon through Pokemon Stadium 1 due to my neighbours having a '64 when all of us were growing up. Diamond was such a fun game despite its flaws, which only came into more light when Platinum was released. I'm guessing everyone knows what flaws I'm hinting at. The music was a highlight for me I think looking back. Even now when listening to the music in this vid I was immediately transported back to 2007 (happens every time for me, music is such a memory re-caller for me). Some of my favorite Pokemon came from these games. While I've long ago sadly lost my original copy of Diamond, I still have a copy of Platinum that I thankfully still have. Hope these games get a remake at some point. Amazing video!

It's always so interesting for me to hear what everyone's favorite gen is and why. Gen 4 has always been my least favorite; it came out when I was in high school/was in a period when I wasn't keeping up with pokenews as much. When I finally got around to playing it, I didn't form much of a connection with it. I do remember the snow route was always my favorite though... Anyway awesome gauntlet!

I know this is 2 years old and you probably realize this now, but there actually were more trainers on Route 224 (I think that’s it?) to rematch! They’re incredibly easy to miss because you have to go through the post-game section of Victory Road with a companion. It’s the place where the Oak’s Letter/Shaymin event took place. Great nostalgic journey!

Gen4 has a special place in my heart because it was the generation I came back and played Pokemon for good. I started with Red and my first game was Silver and loved Crystal, but then I grew up a little and skipped Gen3 completely. I think it was because I didn't even know it was coming out. Anywho, my brother got Pearl for Xmas and I was still defiant on it until he finished the game (he could hardly read, he was so young lol, but managed to beat it). It was then when I started borrowing it and doing the endgame stuff when I fully fell in love with it. I played through Platinum and never went back. I'm counting the days until a Gen4 remake is announced.

I can relate to you on this but with Platinum. Pokemon Platinum was my first ever main series pokemon game (I picked it because the picture of Giratina just called to me). I remember getting so frustrated in the beginning because I somehow didn't see the cave leading to Oreburgh city but I felt accomplished when I finally saw it. I had trouble with every gym leader because I didn't know how to level grind or any sort of strategy. But that just made my victories even sweeter to me. When I reached the end of the game, I faced Cynthia over and over and over. And when I finally beat her I just screamed and cheered. I also remember thinking that riolu evolved at level 33 because I didn't know it was a friendship evolution and mine evolved at that level. I had so many good memories that I can go back to smile at with the game.

So unique!

I happened to be fishing just off Jubilife in BDSP to start to level up a Zubat off Magikarp and when the video buffered the route music perfectly kept playing from the exact spot it stopped at in the video, I find that very funny

Shiny Tombyboi ftw. Spiritomb was always one of my favourites, and honestly, I think Gen 4 is my all-time favourite generation.

Seeing this is amazing for me. Staraptor is my fav Gen 4 pokemon. I adore brave bird. Makes me sad though because I broke my ds soon after beating the elite 4 as a kid playing this and it was also the last time I was properly following and playing the pokemon games.

I've always loved generation 4, Platinum in particular, but Diamond was the very first Pokemon game I ever played. I played it on my original blue Nintendo DS which sadly doesn't work anymore, but I still have it stored away...somewhere. In my most recent run of Platinum which I did just before Christmas, I randomly encountered a shiny Kadabra and Roselia whilst doing post-game stuff. Yay! Overall, I just have really fond memories of playing Diamond and Platinum, and I think Platinum is probably my favorite game period if I'm being totally honest with myself. Mystery Dungeon and Explorers of Sky come in at a close second. Also, the soundtrack to Sinnoh is amazing!

If the Vs. Seeker is in the remakes I'd love to see a remake of this video with a new shiny Starly.
