Pinned comment that I will update with strats that work: (I still don't regret using Susan) -1. U-turn into a Sandstream/Snow Warning Pokemon will work 100% of the time, and Yanmega can learn U-Turn & Thief! (suggested by Craig Bolton/Eoin O'Donnell/Hoovy) -2. Wrap has an 85% accuracy, which is better than whirlpool/sand tomb/fire spin (suggested by ShadowKirbae) -3 Bring in an Abomasnow/Hippowdon/Tyranitar at 1 HP that also has a recoil move and use that move on the 5th clefairy so it faints & your Thief Pokemon would be sent out vs Blissey. Major downside here is the setup to get it back down to 1 HP every time since healing is required (suggested by KaxzerZ) EXTRA NOTE: Endure is still higher priority than ANY priority attacking move in Gen IV. Only *attacking* priority moves (Quick Attack/Mach Punch/Shadow Sneak) share priority
Maybe a taunt + sticky barb set would work, sticky barb to get the OHKO on endure and taunt in blissey to let you switch to a thief Pokémon. Just make sure your attack makes contact.
@@winterdoggo What does this mean? Of course it's not work, work is constructive. Value is being produced with work, stealing is literally removing value.
@@RealClassixX What I meant was that effort is being put into the theft. By your definition it might not be "proper" work, but they're definitely trying their best, which fits under how I tend to define it. For example, a scam call centre might be stealing money from the elderly and that's an awful, underhanded thing to do, but they're still spending a lot of time phoning potential victims and getting paid for it, too - I would consider it a form of work. That said, what I consider work is also fairly disconnected from what value is produced. If your job is as a youtuber, and you put a ton of work into a video that just doesn't work out and is never uploaded, there's almost no value there but I would still consider the time used on that video work as well. Seems like we view the term quite differently, but hopefully this helps you understand where I was coming from a little bit.
The AI in DP is COMPLETELY RANDOM according to a few speedruns I've watched (Pt has some 'smart' trainers). All 4 moves have a 1/4 chance of being used every turn no matter your or their HP.
@@averytubestudios iirc gen 1 is actually coded to always use super effective moves if they have them, even if they don’t inflict damage (ex: an AI will use constantly light screen against a poison type until it runs out of pp bc it’s a psychic type move)
@@Coyoteari Yep! And what's worse is iirc gen 1 trainer pokemon don't use pp, so you can potentially soft-lock yourself in very specific situations (Pikasprey did a video on a soft-lock in Lorelei's room).
Meaning in 99 days you have a 1.427171234054e−62% chance to not have any clefairys use endure once, this number is so small that 0.0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001% is still more than 1000x as likely (probably more like 1000000x as likely but the first number is inconceivable)
watching your vids feels like chilling with a good friend. i love that you still include the classic camera recording style and always take us with you on walks lol. your vids just feel special to me. love your content man
Lickilicky Ability: Oblivious EVs: 252 Atk / 8 SpD / 248 Spe Adamant Nature - Wrap - Thief - Protect Wrap has 85% accuracy which would get around Endure, while it also learns Thief. Protect for when you need to stall turns and oblivious prevents cute charm. This wouldve been miles better than the machamp atleast
@@AbsolBlogsPokemon Wrap has an approximately 56% chance of missing once per 5 turns, the other moves has around an 83% failure rate. Idk how it compares to no guard machamp since idk the data for Clefairy, but I think even at best clefairy move set, wrap could’ve been more efficient as it’s comparing .85^5 to .75^5
Dude I love your unique format of pokemon challenge video mixed with a vlog(?) to show progression. It makes your videos stand out from other youtubers. The level 100 gauntlet ideas are so absurd and original every time. Keep it up!
This one time some random kid threw some maltesers at me, while i was just walking down the street. I guess i know how it feels when blissey flings those candies at you
Any time I see your videos pop up - even if I’ve watched them 5 times - I always click them. Thank you for the content, Matt! I always enjoy the company while I shiny hunt. (Or, in this case, drive into work for a 13 hour rainy day).
Gaming while being in a virtual meeting is the most relatable thing ever I've played through Zelda Phantom Hourglass on DS while in a few too long meetings I had to attend but not really talk at all and that was by far not the only game I've played through these past few months just in meetings.
I know there's a good chance you'll never see this comment, but in case you do, I want you to know that youve re-ignited my love for pokémon. I have sword and the dlc, sun and moon, and omega ruby. Although currently my 2ds is lost and the only cartridges I can find is my sun cartridge and my sword cartridge. A lot of peoples voices I cant tolerate (I have really bad sensory problems) and yours is the most calming voice I've heard in a while. I love your gauntlet videos and your love for baja blast and your commitment to the games and community. Recently I found my first ever shiny, a gothorita in a dynamax raid on sword. I named it wubble. Keep up the amazing work! I havent been watching for long but I am proud of the progress Ive seen and the kindness you share with others. :)
Hey Absol! I've been doing myself a lvl.100 gauntlet for the past 6-7 months and I've been having a lot of fun. I'm doing the "Getting to lvl.100 with only the PokeWalker from Pokemon Heartgold/Soulsilver" so yeah, I'm giving you the idea if you want to try it! It's very easy, you just have to walk *insert furret meme* Each step is 1XP point (like in the DayCare) and you have to be careful and send the pokemon back to the game before the steps you took are bigger than the ones you need to lvl up. But besides of that is a very easy and fun achievement! So if you decide to try it please use Aipom (I love that monkey, and it's in the fast xp group, so only 600K steps to take, 2-3 months if you walk a lot) Thanks, and sorry for my very bad lvl of english bc I'm not a native speaker, greetings from Spain!
Great vid as always Matt! I know you've been grinding editing lately, so we have a lot of amazing vids to look forward to! Question: What flavor do you think rare candies are?
Fun fact: once when I was 20 I did this succesfully with my Hippowdon “Mothership” for 125 days straight!!! It was fabulous. Great video as always!!!! And Rothomus is actually my son!!! 🍬🍬🍬🍬✨✨✨✨
I love all your level 100 gauntlets, and this is no exception! I'm really glad I got to experience some of this one live, especially the unforgettable "I Play Pokémon Go" Experience.
Hi Matt, I think this must be one of my favorite gauntlet videos. Keep up the great work! ^0^ I have a quick questions as well, would you ever do a story movie/Lv.100 gauntlet for the fangame Pokémon Insurgence? :O
I don't know why I enjoy your random gauntlets so much but everytime a new one pops up or even just an old one I just immediately click and watch it. I also watch some of your other videos I just enjoy your personality and jokes I guess.
Damn, hippowdon was so close to being useful in this challenge 🤣 also, I've been wondering. Is it possible to train a pokemon to level 100 in colosseum or XD? If so, maybe a cool idea for a challenge 👀
Dude, heck yeah with the SNES JP music around 12:00 !! I loved that game as a kid, and just recently watched Super Beard Bros' playthrough of it. Also, I commented this the other day on one of your other videos, but I'm so glad the algorithm finally showed me your channel. It is possibly the most chill gaming/Pokemon content I think I've ever watched. I love it, it's so nice to unwind at the end of a long day and "hang out" with you. I say that because that's the vibe these videos give off, and it's amazing.
I gotta say, ive been rewatching your past videos for a couple days now, and i would love to get a video that only shows your nintendo/pokemon collection, from consoles to games to cards. You seem to have so much gameboys and consoles! Here's to hoping you do one of those in the near future! Props from Portugal!
You could also use a 1 HP Hippowdon / Abomasnow with Take Down, Double-Edge or Wood Hammer to KO yourself on the last Clefairy to let another Thief Pokémon be in 1st against Blissey. Ironically, the necessary setup is probably easier done by fighting a strong Water/Fire type and use endure yourself lol.
That sounds very good minus the setup! I feel like by the last rare candy, it'd take a few minutes to get it to 1 HP every time with how high level it would be
I remember when u were at 20k subs or so a couple of years ago and I thought you deserved so many more subs and now I see you on my recommended again and you're at 124k! Way to go bro
Thank you for teaching me something new, sir. I barely play Platinum very much anymore, and when I did, I BARELY did that maid challenge, so I never knew about the Rich Boy/Lady with a Rare Candy holding Blissey. Also, the lights shutting off at Midnight was cool.
Oh. No wonder I never won this since I basically 1 koed the pokemon except for the endure. I would try this myself but doing all this work for a chance for a rare candy seams like alot.
"...Which I named 'Robin Hood' because Happiny are very, very skilled at archery." made me laugh so much harder than it should have. I really hope everyone watching understood how funny that was.
Loved when you moved your camera to show it's still August 28th and also showed you were in the middle of a Hurricane Warning 😰😰😰😰😰 Anything for the gauntlet!
