Wes I have learned myself before buying ANYTHING always check ebay and Amazon I sware nine times out of ten I find whatever I'm looking for at a lower price, You may have to wait a couple days for shipping but it's so worth it in the long run.

only thing good about turning the tractor to 100hp give you is make you use a little less fuel under loads . but it puts more stress on part to go out sooner . keep up the good videos wes.

the cav type pumps are quite easy to adjust up fuel amount. the main pump elements inside are actuated by and inside out kind of cam wheel that rocks the pump pistons. on my perkins 3 cyl volvo 320 tractor who had sat for 10+ years one element was stuck by a speck of rust. had the entire pump apart and got it loose and moving and it works like a charm. the 2 little piston elements gets forced from eachother by the pressure they produce and the cam ring lobes force them together simulatanously to send pressure to the respective cylinder. like a ignition cap distributor principle. one main pump delivers to 3 outlet ports. or 4 6 etc depending on the engine. the adjusting part to increase horses are a device that controls how much stroke the 2 small high pressure pistions travel, when giving them longer stroke,more fuel are injected than before increasing the hp. im breaking in new bearings,pisons etc so havent tuned mine yet but im going to :)
nice old lincon welder i had one like it..it could even crank by hand the crank was stored next to motor and gen under the cover if your on the batterie side it would be on your right under the side cover..mine had sticky brushes so i free'd them it runs soo nice doesnt even kick governer on til 110 ampos..and it had a dc gen on it that lets you run things with brushes in it like grinders blenders skill saw and light but not the cfl only the older wire type or worklights that had a halogen bulb stuff like that..i got it running after it sat for 20 somthing years couldent believe it ran so good..no smoke loud without muffler lol
Many fuel filter systems will work. Just follow the rule of SUCTION side is COURSE and PRESSURE side is FINE. Or Primary is 25 micron or more and Secondary is 2-15 micron....depending on your fuel system. (Your fuel pump on the block is a TRANSFER PUMP and the Pressure pump is after that.
Yeah, I can see you usiing it at tractor pulls. Fortunately for you, you have alot of flat beds for your trucks so you and Tim can haul the tractors to the shows for the pulls.
I would look for an industrial steel cart to put that welder on. If is is on a HD wheeled cart, you can lift it off to pull on your service truck and also wheel it around in the shop. Some go cheap at actions.
The injectors you have are way obsolete and no parts are available. Some nozzles can be reground for use, so if you come across some cores you better get'em. Deere only used two different nozzle holders in that type. One was American Bosch and the other was Bendix. Expensive $$$ To bad you didn't have them tested, a plugged nozzle can seize the injection pump! IP guys won't warranty the failure from plugged nozzle.

I notice behind you that your tractor has a low front tire. Is it ok for the tire to be low on air while it is sitting for the winter? or would it be appropriate to put it on blocks if it is slowly losing air? Just asking for my own curiosity.
This should be more than 81 hp. I thought the diesel 4010 was 84 hp and the early 4020 was 91. Being the motor is now a 404 its should be closer if not over 90 hp with factory settings.

Reason I asked was I had injectors with a clogged filter in my semi. Dealer shop said they cleaned the filters and reinstalled. Older diesels engines had a lower pressure and I could check injector with a hand pump tool for a good spray. Now they have to go to a speciality shop for service.
I’m not surprised with your deal on eBay. It’s getting crazy buying stuff online these days Wes. I still can’t get over buying my auto parts online from Advance Auto Parts then drive to the store and pick everything up cheaper than what I would pay in the store. Most of their online discounts are cheaper than what their employees would pay. It just goes to show, these days you need to shop around.
still laughing at your beating your self up you have a welder now, put it on a service body, you can be mobile in the field. we did think like you did at first. we bought one to try it out. we now run 8 service bodies now 5 are leased out to one farm dealership now we run there name and colors on the trucks now we do not run many of their equipment on the farm put they still use us to do their service work. the cool thing about that we started to take the info down on all the farmer's machinery what they have for sale or be able to have parts from them too we have a student in the farm dealership now that just looks after that part of it amazing what farmers are looking for and selling at the same time he has found machinery and was able to sell it too the dealership has got busy with older farm machinery now to most of the time now it has been restoring or rebuilding machinery now sale of new machinery have picked up too now to bad it red in color lol.
