I remember that trip as I got on at Darlington. Was fantastic apart from my hay fever drove me nuts part way through the day.

That class 40 got a lot of thrash if I ever go to the UK the first thing I wanna see is this

They never worked properly in service and were underpowered but still a nice loco with a good sound. Excellent film btw.

Here we have yet another video I've come across where people are moaning about the flailing. How about some comments on how hellfire the thrash is or the good camera work?

It's true. I was told off by a Scotrail employee for window hanging on the Fife circle loco-hauled train, and I believe the Carlisle-Sellafield worker's trains even have bars over the windows to stop anyone leaning out!

@55022deltic I have encouraged all my kids to take an interest in railways, as i have. But i do not condone "flailing" for two reasons. 1/ It's dangerous on a fast moving train. 2/ It looks absolutely thick and belongs to people called Malcolm who still live with their mothers.

Full credit to the passengers. No one 'flailing', 'bellowing' or acting like a total tosser.
